How to install the Maxi-Cosi Pearl car seat?

The seat must only be used on the Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix IsoFix base. Read the base's instruction manual carefully for installation. Place the seat forward-facing on the base and lock it correctly.

What is the recommended minimum age for this seat?

The manual does not specify an exact age. The seat is designed for use with the FamilyFix base. Ensure the child can sit properly with the harness adjusted. Check weight and height limits on the certification label.

Can I use the seat without the FamilyFix base?

No, the Maxi-Cosi Pearl is designed to be used only with the Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix IsoFix base. Without it, the seat is not secure.

How to adjust the Pearl headrest?

The headrest is height-adjustable. Pull or push to adjust to the child's size, so that the harness straps are at the correct height (at the child's shoulder level).

After an accident, always replace the car seat, even if it seems intact. Invisible damage may compromise safety. Contact your retailer for a replacement.

Is the seat under warranty?

Yes, the Maxi-Cosi Pearl has a 24-month warranty from the purchase date, covering material and manufacturing defects. Keep the receipt and contact your seller.

Can I use the seat on the front passenger seat?

Yes, but only if the passenger airbag is deactivated. Place the seat in the most rearward position. Otherwise, use the rear seat.

How to secure my child correctly?

Place the child in the seat, fasten the 5-point harness and adjust the straps so they are snug. The space between the child and the straps should not exceed the thickness of a finger (1 cm). The harness pads are removable.

What to do if the harness straps are twisted?

Before each use, check that the straps are not twisted or damaged. If they are, untwist them or replace the seat. Do not force the straps.

Safety

General Maxi-Cosi Pearl instructions

1. Only use the Maxi-Cosi Pearl on a Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix with IsoFix and make sure to read the instructions carefully.
2. You are personally responsible for the safety of your child at all times.
3. Never hold your child on your lap when driving.
4. The Maxi-Cosi Pearl is intended for car use only.
5. Do not use the Maxi-Cosi Pearl for more than 5 years.
6. Do not use second-hand products whose history is unknown.
7. Replace the Maxi-Cosi Pearl after an accident.
8. Read this instruction manual carefully and keep it in the storage space in the Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix.

Warning: Do not make any changes to the Maxi-Cosi Pearl whatsoever, as this could lead to unsafe situations.

Maxi-Cosi Pearl maintenance instructions

1. The cover can be removed for washing. If the cover needs to be replaced at any time, only use official Maxi-Cosi fabrics.
2. The Maxi-Cosi Pearl must undergo regular maintenance. Do not use lubricants or aggressive cleaning agents.

The Maxi-Cosi Pearl and your baby

1. Never leave your child unattended.
2. Always secure your child with the harness belt.
3. Check to make sure the headrest is adjusted to the proper height.
4. Before every use, make sure the harnesses are not damaged or twisted.
5. Make sure you can fit no more than one finger between the harnesses and your child (1cm).

Maxi-Cosi Pearl car use

1. Always check to make sure the car seat is compatible with the vehicle it is to be used in.
2. Make sure the fold-down rear seat is locked into position.
3. Prevent the Maxi-Cosi Pearl from becoming trapped or weighed down by luggage, seats and/or slamming doors.

4. Make sure that all luggage and other loose objects are secure.

5. Deactivate the airbag if using the Maxi-Cosi Pearl on the front passenger seat. If this is not possible, place the passenger seat in the rearmost position.

6. Always cover the Maxi-Cosi Pearl when exposed to direct sunlight in the car. Otherwise, the cover, metal and plastic parts could become too hot for your child's skin.

Warning: The Maxi-Cosi Pearl must always be placed in a forward-facing position in the car on a Maxi-Cosi Family Fix.

Keep all plastic packaging materials out of reach of your child to avoid the risk of suffocation.

For environmental reasons, when you have stopped using this product, we ask that you dispose of the product in the proper waste facilities in accordance with local legislation.

We guarantee that this product was manufactured in accordance with the current European safety requirements and quality standards which are applicable to this product, and that this product is free from defects in workmanship and material at the time of purchase. During the production process the product was subjected to various quality checks. If this product, despite our efforts, shows a material/manufacturing fault within the warranty period of 24 months, (with normal use as described in the user instructions) we will comply with the warranty terms and conditions. The warranty is not valid in the following cases:

In case of a use or purpose other than described in the manual.
If the product is submitted for repair through a dealer that is not authorized by us.
- If the product is not supplied to the manufacturer with the original purchase receipt (via the retailer and/or importer).
- If repairs were carried out by third parties or a dealer that is not authorized by us.
- If the defect is the result of improper or careless use or maintenance, negligence or impact damage to the fabric cover and/or frame.
- If the parts show normal wear and tear that may be expected from daily use of a product (wheels, rotating and moving parts etc.)

Date of effect:

The warranty becomes effective on the date the product is purchased.

Warranty term:

The warranty period applies for a period of 24 consecutive months. The warranty only applies for the first owner and is not transferable.

What to do in case of defects:

After purchasing the product, keep the purchase receipt. The date of purchase must be clearly visible on the receipt. Should problems or defects arise please contact your retailer. Exchanging or taking back the product cannot be requested. Repairs do not give entitlement to extension of the warranty. Products that are returned directly to the manufacturer are not eligible for warranty.
