Frequently Asked Questions - Aerodry Turbo CECOTEC

How does the AeroDry Turbo hand dryer work?
The AeroDry Turbo uses an infrared sensor to detect your hands. When you place your hands under the air outlet within the detection zone, the dryer starts automatically. It stops when you remove your hands, making it a touch-free operation.
Can I install the hand dryer myself or do I need an electrician?
You can install it using the plug-in method by connecting the power cord to a mains socket. For a hardwired installation, connecting the conductors to fixed wiring must be done by a qualified electrician to ensure safety.
How often should I clean the air filter?
The air filter should be cleaned or replaced every six months, or more frequently in dusty environments. If you notice a decrease in air speed, check the filter and clean it immediately.
What should I do if the hand dryer doesn't activate when I put my hands under it?
First, ensure the power on/off switch is on. Then verify that your hands are positioned correctly within the sensor detection zone. Check that the sensor lens is clean and free from dust. If it still doesn't work, contact Cecotec's Official Technical Support Service.
Is it safe to use the hand dryer near a bathtub or shower?
The manual explicitly warns: Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, or tanks containing water. For additional safety, install a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA in the electrical circuit.
Which cleaning products are recommended for the exterior?
Use a soft cloth slightly dampened with water and a mild detergent. Do not use solvents, strong alcohols, acidic or alkaline cleaners, scouring pads, or hard brushes. Also, do not use a pressure washer or steam cleaner.
Why is a residual current device (RCD) recommended?
An RCD provides additional protection against electric shock, especially in a bathroom environment where water is present. It quickly disconnects the circuit when leakage current exceeds 30 mA, reducing the risk of injury.
What can I do if the power cord is damaged?
Do not attempt to repair it yourself. The power cord must be replaced by Cecotec's Official Technical Support Service or similarly qualified personnel to avoid risks.
Can I cover the air inlet or outlet during operation?
No, you must not cover the air inlet or air outlet during operation. Obstructions can cause overheating and damage to the appliance. Ensure they remain free from obstructions at all times.
What does the heat on/off switch do?
The heat on/off switch allows you to control the heating element. With heat on, the dryer outputs warm air for faster drying. With heat off, it uses unheated air, which can be more energy-efficient in warmer conditions.
