How to start the DSL 250/2 shredder?

Make sure the collection bin is properly locked, then plug in the device and press the on/off switch. Use the emergency stop if needed.

What branch diameter can I shred?

What to do if the shredder jams?

How to change the blades?

Unplug the device. Remove the protective cover. Unscrew the worn blades and replace them with new ones. Tighten properly.

Why does the motor stop during use?

The thermal circuit breaker trips in case of overheating. Let the device cool for 15 minutes before restarting. Check that branches are not too large.

Can I use an extension cord?

Yes, but it must have a cross-section of at least 1.5 mm² and be suitable for outdoor use. Unroll it completely to prevent overheating.

When using the equipment, a few safety precautions must be observed to avoid injuries and damage. Please read the complete operating instructions and safety regulations with due care. Keep this manual in a safe place, so that the information is available at all times. If you give the equipment to any other person, hand over these operating instructions and safety regulations as well. We cannot accept any liability for damage or accidents which arise due to a failure to follow these instructions and the safety instructions.

1. Safety regulations

Danger!

Read all safety regulations and instructions. Any errors made in following the safety regulations and instructions may result in an electric shock, fi re and/or serious injury.

Keep all safety regulations and instructions in a safe place for future use.

Take suitable precautions to protect yourself and your environment from potential hazards.

• Never put the pin grinder to any use other than that intended.
• Always concentrate while you work. Do not work if you are tired.
• Use only a quick-release coupling to connect up the air supply.
- It is imperative to use a pressure reducer to set the working pressure.
- Never use oxygen or combustible gases as an energy source.
- Always disconnect the tool from the air supply before carrying out any repairs or maintenance work.
• Use only original replacement parts.
• Never allow the tool to run unloaded at full idle speed for any considerable length of time.
- Wear the necessary protective clothing when working with the pin grinder.
• Always wear goggles when grinding
- Watch out for sparks when grinding. Hot flying particles may bum into both soft and hard materials (glass, floor coverings, etc.) or ignite inflammable solids and liquids (hay, saw dust, lacquer, etc.).
• Never use the machine without oil.
- Check the condition of the grinding pins regularly. n Store the grinder where it is out of the

reach of children.
- Securely fasten the workpiece you want to grind.
- Use only organically bonded grinding wheels and organically or inorganically bonded grinding pins and small grinding wheels (wheel ∅ smaller than 20 mm).
Under no circumstances are you to use grinding wheels at speeds higher than the speed quoted in mirr by the wheel's manufacturer.
- Allow new grinding wheels a running-in period of 30 seconds on the tool. Operators and other personnel are to stay out of the danger zone during the trial run. Hold the rotating grinding pin away from the body.
• Never halt a grinding wheel by pressing on its circumference or face.
- Tighten the lock nut only enough to hold the grinding wheel securely in place.
- Operators are to be thoroughly instructed on how to use the grinding tool safely.
• Always examine the grinding pins for signs of damage before you start to work.
• Handle grinding pins and other abrasives
• carefully. Do not drop. Avoid knocks.
Make sure the pneumatic motor and the tool's bearings are kept properly lubricated, particularly after a long period of use.
- When fitting a grinding pin, be sure to leave a gap of at least 1 cm between the back of the abrasive and the tool lock nut.
• Make sure that the air hose connections and hose couplings are tight and that the air pressure is the same as that specified in the instructions.
- The grinding/sanding machine should be configured, adjusted and used only by a q qualified and trained operators.
• Make sure that you do not lose the safety information. Give it to the operator.
• Never use damaged equipment.
- If the mounted tool, an accessory part or the machine itself breaks, pieces may be catapulted away at high speed.
- Impact-resistant eye protection (safety goggles) must be worn when operating the grinding/ sanding machine. The safety goggles must be suitable for the intended use.
• You must make sure that the workpiece is fixed securely.
- Cut injuries can occur if loose clothing, jewelry, necklaces, hair or gloves are not kept away from the machine and its accessory parts.

from e.g. cutting, grazing and high temperature. Wear suitable gloves to protect your hands.

• Hold the machine correctly: Be prepared to cope with expected or sudden movements — keep both hands ready.
• If there is a power failure, release the command device for starting and stopping. There is a risk of electrostatic discharge when the machine is used on plastic and other non-conductive materials.
• A potentially explosive atmosphere can arise from the dust and vapors caused by grinding and sanding. A suitable dust extraction system must be used where necessary
• Disconnect the grinding/sanding machine from the power supply before replacing the mounted tool or accessory parts.

3. Proper use

The pin grinder is a handy pneumatic tool for use in DIY and automotive workshops.

The exhaust air leaves the tool through the outlet to the rear. The air supply is connected to the tool by means of a quick-release coupling.

The equipment is to be used only for its prescri-

bed purpose. Any other use is deemed to be a case of misuse. The user / operator and not the manufacturer will be liable for any damage or injuries of any kind caused as a result of this.

Please note that our equipment has not been designed for use in commercial, trade or industrial applications. Our warranty will be voided if the machine is used in commercial, trade or industrial businesses or for equivalent purposes.

Repairs and maintenance work are to be carried out only by authorized specialist workshops.

The power of the tool will be reduced if you use a hose that has too small an inner diameter or which is too long.

Caution!

Residual risks

Even if you use this electric power tool in accordance with instructions, certain residual risks cannot be rules out. The following hazards may arise in connection with the equipment's construction and layout:

1. Lung damage if no suitable protective dust mask is used.
2. Damage to hearing if no suitable ear protection is used.
3. Health damage caused by hand-arm vibrations if the equipment is used over a prolonged period or is not properly guided and maintained.

5. Before starting the equipment

Screw the supplied plug-in nipple into the air connection after you have wound 2 to 3 layers of sealing tape around the thread. Insert adapter sleeve size ∅ 3 mm or ∅ 6 mm depending on which grinding pin you want to use. To do so, unscrew the lock nut, insert the adapter sleeve and re-tighten the lock nut by hand. Then insert the correct grinding pin (make sure it has the correct shaft diameter!) and tighten the lock nut with the two chuck keys, using the one key to hold the adapter sleeve mount.

6. Maintenance and cleaning

Observance of the following maintenance instructions will ensure that this quality tool gives you years of troublefree service.

Regular lubrication is vital for the long-term, reliable operation of your pin grinder. Use only special tool oil for this purpose.

You can choose from the following options for lubricating the tool:

6.1 By mist oiler

A complete conditioning unit includes a mist oiler and is fitted to the compressor.

6.2 By hand

Each time before you use your impactscrewdriver, feed 3-5 drops of special tool oil into the air connection. If the pneumatic tool has not been used for several days, you must feed 5-10 drops of oil into the air connection before you switch on. Keep your pneumatic tool in dry rooms only.

8. Cleaning, maintenance and ordering of spare parts

Danger!

Always pull out the mains power plug before starting any cleaning work.

8.1 Cleaning

• Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it with compressed air at low pressure.
  • We recommend that you clean the device immediately each time you have finished using it.
• Clean the equipment regularly with a moist cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents; these could attack the plastic parts of the equipment. Ensure that no water can seep into the device. The ingress of water into an electric tool increases the risk of an electric shock.

8.2 Maintenance

There are no parts inside the equipment which require additional maintenance.

9. Disposal and recycling

The equipment is supplied in packaging to prevent it from being damaged in transit. The raw materials in this packaging can be reused or recycled. The equipment and its accessories are made of various types of material, such as metal and plastic. Never place defective equipment in your household refuse. The equipment should be taken to a suitable collection center for proper disposal. If you do not know the whereabouts of such a collection point, you should ask in your local council offices.
