How to position the cuff correctly?

Place the cuff on the bare arm, about 2-3 cm above the elbow crease, with the central tube facing the palm. Tighten enough so it does not slip, but not too tight. Sit comfortably with your arm resting on a table at heart level.

Can I use the device if I am pregnant?

Yes, but values may be altered. Consult your doctor to interpret the results. Avoid measurements in case of preeclampsia without medical advice.

What does the 'Err' display mean?

Err indicates a measurement error. Check that the cuff is properly positioned and the tube is not bent. Restart after 5 minutes of rest. If the problem persists, change the batteries.

How to clear user memories?

To clear a user's data, press and hold the M button for 5 seconds in standby mode until 'CLR' appears. Confirm by pressing again.

How often should I change the batteries?

Change the batteries as soon as the low battery symbol appears. Use new alkaline batteries of the same type (AA). Do not use rechargeable batteries without a specific adapter.

Is the device suitable for elderly people?

Yes, its large screen and wide buttons make it easy to use. It stores up to 120 measurements per user, ideal for regular monitoring.

How to clean the cuff?

Clean the cuff with a slightly damp cloth and mild soap. Do not immerse in water or iron. Air dry.

Is the measurement reliable if I talk during the test?

No, it is essential to remain still and not talk during the measurement. Talking or moving distorts the results. Wait 5 minutes of quiet before the measurement.

Can I use the AC adapter with the batteries at the same time?

No, remove the batteries when using an AC adapter (optional, 6V 600mA, center positive). This prevents overheating or damage.

What to do if the displayed pressure is very high?

If the value exceeds 180 mmHg systolic or 110 mmHg diastolic, wait 5 minutes and repeat the measurement. If confirmed, consult a doctor immediately.

Assembling the battery/s

- Caution: During the handling of batteries, do not touch both poles at the same time, as this will provoke the partial discharge of the stocked energy therefore affecting longevity.

- Remove the cover of the battery compartment.

- Check that the plastic covering that protects the battery has been removed (some batteries are sold with a protective covering).

- Put the battery in its compartment, respecting the polarity (Fig. 1)

- Close the cover of the battery compartment.

- It is essential that the batteries should always be the same kind and the same charge. Never mix alkaline batteries with normal one (Carbon-Zinc) and/or rechargeable ones.

- NB: When changing the batteries, the configuration of the appliance will be removed, and you will need to reset the parameters of the appliance.

Instructions for use

Before use:

• Remove the appliance's protective film.
• Make sure that all the product's packaging has been removed.
• Prepare the appliance according to the function you wish to use.

Adjustment of date and time:

• Press at the same time the start/stop button (B) and the memory button (C).
• The figure for the month will start to flash. Press the memory button to select the appropriate month.
• Then press the start/stop button to change the day, which will start to flash. Press the memory button to select the appropriate day.
• Then press the start/stop button to change the hour, which will start to flash. Press the memory button to select the appropriate hour.
• Then press the start/stop button to change the minute, which will start

to flash. Press the memory button to select the appropriate minute.

• Press the start/stop button again to finalise the date and time adjustment. The hour set will be shown without flashing.
• The date and time will be shown at intervals of approximately 5 seconds.

Connecting the wristband and air tube to the appliance:

• Completely unroll the air hose and connect it to the air hose connection (Fig. 2)
• To disconnect the air hose, simply pull it outwards.

Use:

• Completely unroll the wristband and the hose.
• Couple the hose to the hose connection.
• Insert the end of the wristband through the metal hasp leaving the Velcro on the outer side.
• Uncover the left arm and insert the arm into the wristband in such a way that the hose outlet is aligned with the centre of the arm, taking the middle finger as a reference (Fig. 2)
• Place the arm on the table palm-upwards.
• Place the wristband on the upper arm, maintaining a distance of approximately 1-2 cm between the wristband and your elbow.
• Straighten the wristband to ensure there is no air between it and the arm, and adjust it using the Velcro closing.
• Measurements must always be taken with the arm uncovered or with the sleeve rolled up, without exercising

any pressure on the arm.

- Take the measurement on the same arm. Take the measurement on the left arm; the right arm may be used only when there is some impediment to using the left arm.

- To take the measurement sitting down, relax the arm on a table, keeping the wristband at the height of the heart (Fig. 3). If it is above or below the level of the heart, the accuracy of the measurement will be affected. During the measurement, do not speak or move your body or the arm.

- To take the measurement lying down, lie on your back for at least 5 minutes and relax the arm. Keep the wristband at the height of the heart (Fig. 4). If it is above or below the level of the heart, the accuracy of the measurement will be affected. During the measurement, do not speak or move your body or the arm.

- Start the appliance by pressing the start/stop button. The LCD display screen will light up showing all the symbols. Wait until you hear a "beep".

- The relevant memory number will now appear (U1 or U2). Press the memory button to change the memory. Once this has been selected, press the start button to see the previous measurement values shown. If there are no measurements in the memory, the screen will display "0". The wrist cuff will now expand automatically.

- Keep still, without talking and with the appliance at the level of your heart until the measurement process

has finished.

- When the measurement process has finished, the wrist cuff will contract automatically and the LCD screen will display the values of systolic pressure, diastolic pressure and heartbeat rhythm. On the left-hand side of the screen will be displayed the indicator of blood pressure classification in accordance with the parameters of the WHO (Fig. 5).

- When 1 minute has passed since the last measurement, the appliance will automatically pass into standby mode.

Reading values stored in the memory:

- The last measurement, together with the date and time it was taken, is automatically stored in the memory selected (U1 or U2). Each group of memories contains a maximum of 60 measurements.

- In order to consult previous measurements, press the memory button when the appliance is in “stop” mode. The LCD screen will display for a period of 5 seconds the relevant memory (U1 or U2) and the number of measurements stored. Press the start button to select another memory group and the screen will then display the last measurement stored for the memory selected.

- Press the memory button to see the measurements stored in chronological order.

- When the appliance has not been in use for 2 minutes, it will return to "stop" mode automatically.

Deletion of memories:

- In order to delete memories, hold the memory button down for 3 seconds when in the memory reading function. All the memories will be deleted when you hear 3 "beeps".

Self-disconnection function (stand-by):

- For the purpose of saving energy, the appliance is designed to self-disconnect (stand-by) after 1 minute if the user has not carried out any action with it during this period.

Once you have finished using the appliance:

• Turn the appliance off using the on/off switch for 5 seconds.
• Remove the batteries from the appliance if you are not going to use it for some time.
• Clean the appliance

Practical recommendations:

• Avoid eating, smoking and intensive activity in the 30 minutes before taking the measurement.
• Let at least 1 minute pass betweenmeasurements so as to relax thecirculation of the blood in the arm.

Special messages:

The following messages can appear on the screen:

- Er 0: Signifies that the pressure system is unstable prior to measurement. In this case, do not move and repeat the measurement.

- Er 1 o Er 2: Signifies that there has been a failure in detecting the systolic or diastolic pressure. In this

case, do not move and repeat the measurement

- Er 3: Signifies that the pneumatic system has become blocked or that the wristband is too tight-fitting during inflation. In this case, adjust the wristband correctly.

- Er 4: Signifies that the pneumatic system has suffered a leak or that the wristband is too loose-fitting during inflation. In this case, adjust the wristband correctly.

- Er 5: Signifies that the pressure in the wristband is greater than 300mmHg. Wait for 5 minutes and repeat the measurement. If the monitor still presents this error take the appliance to an authorised Technical Assistance Service.

- Er 6: Signifies that the pressure in the wristband has been greater than 15mmHg for over 3 minutes. Wait for 5 minutes and repeat the measurement. If the monitor still presents this error take the appliance to an authorised Technical Assistance Service.

- Er 7: Signifies an access error to the appliance's EEPROM program. Wait for 5 minutes and repeat the measurement. If the monitor still presents this error take the appliance to an authorised Technical Assistance Service.

- Er 8: Signifies that an error has occurred with the checking parameter of the device. Wait for 5 minutes and repeat the measurement. If the monitor still presents this error take the appliance to an authorised Technical Assistance Service.

- Er A: Signifies that an error has occurred with the parameter of the pressure sensor. Wait for 5 minutes and repeat the measurement. If the monitor still presents this error take the appliance to an authorised Technical Assistance Service.

- The screen shows the low battery symbol (T): signifies that you must change the batteries for new ones. If the appliance does not start on pressing the start/stop button, or after having changed the batteries, take it to an authorised Technical Assistance Service..

Cleaning

- Clean the equipment with a damp cloth with a few drops of washing-up liquid and then dry.

- Do not use solvents, or products with an acid or base pH such as bleach, or abrasive products, for cleaning the appliance.

- Do not submerge the appliance in water or any other liquid, or place it under a running tap.
