Operating Instructions Body and Face Grooming Kit Model No. ER‑GY10

Before operating this unit, please read these instructions completely and save them for future use.

Grooming Kit. Please read all instructions before use.

This trimmer has a built-in rechargeable battery. Do not throw into fire, apply heat, or charge, use, or leave in a high temperature environment.

This WET/DRY trimmer can be used for wet trimming or for dry trimming. You can use this watertight trimmer in the shower and clean it in water. The following symbol means suitable for use in a bath or shower.

• Do not use any charger other than this charger (RE9‑64).

• Charge the appliance in a location where it will not be exposed to direct sunlight or other heat sources, at temperatures of 0 °C to 35 °C. • Plug in the charger into a household outlet where there is no moisture and handle it with dry hands. • Hold the plug when disconnecting it from the household outlet. If you tug on the power cord, you may damage it. • Do not damage or deform the power cord. Do not place heavy objects on the power cord or trap it between objects. • Do not use the trimmer if the power cord or the charger is worn, or if the plug does not fit snugly in the outlet. • The power cord cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged, the charger should be scrapped.

► Cleaning the trimmer

• Check that the blades are not damaged or deformed before use.

• Terminate the usage when there is abnormality or failure. • Turn off the appliance before changing the trimming length or removing the comb attachment. • Before each use, apply oil at the places marked with arrows. (See page 6.) • The appliance should not be used on animals. • Do not press the blade against the skin. • Do not use the trimmer for any purpose other than trimming. • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

► Charging the trimmer

• Never use the charger in the bathroom or shower room.

Remove the plug from the household outlet before cleaning the charger.

• The housing should not be taken apart as this can affect the watertight construction of the appliance. • If you clean the trimmer with water, do not use salt water or hot water. Do not soak the trimmer in water for a long period of time. • Clean the housing only with a soft cloth slightly dampened with tap water or soapy tap water. Do not use thinner, benzine, alcohol or other chemicals. • Clean the power plug regularly to remove any dust or dirt.

► Storing the trimmer

• Store the trimmer in a place with low humidity after use.

• Do not store the trimmer where it will be exposed to direct sunlight or other heat sources. • Store the charger in a dry area where it is protected from damage. • Keep the oil away from children.

Inserting the comb attachment into the comb attachment storage tray

Insert the comb attachment into the comb attachment insertion slot as illustrated. • Comb attachments can be inserted into any insertion slot regardless of type. • There are 4 comb attachments. Place 3 of them on the comb attachment storage tray and 1 on the trimmer.

Storing and charging the trimmer

Place the trimmer on the charger when storing or charging. You can fully charge the trimmer in 12 hours if it is losing speed. A full charge will allow for approximately 5 trims (10 minutes per trim for a normal beard). The nose & facial hair trimmer (ER‑GN30) also can be placed on the oil stand.

Attaching the comb attachment storage tray to the charger

Attach the comb attachment storage tray to the side of the charger and slide it from the top, as illustrated. • The charger can also be used without attaching the comb attachment storage tray. • Note that the comb attachment storage tray may fall off as it is not completely fixed.

Parts identification

1. Turn off the trimmer and insert it in the charger in proper direction as illustrated.

2. Plug the power cord into a household outlet and place the charger on a flat surface. • The charge indicator lamp lights and stays on until the trimmer is removed from the charger. When charging the trimmer for the first time or when it has not been in use for more than 6 months, please charge for 16 hours (in order to activate the rechargeable battery). If you charge the trimmer with the battery completely discharged, the charge indicator lamp may not glow immediately. However, the lamp will glow normally after charging for a few minutes.

• Actual hair length will be a little longer than the height you set.

Trimming overall height Cut slowly toward the top of your head. • Press the tip of the comb attachment against your scalp.

• Crisscross in various directions to trim thoroughly.

• We recommend using the trimmer in an ambient temperature range of 0 - 35 °C. If used outside this range, the appliance may stop operating. Before each use, apply oil at the places marked with arrows. (See page 6.)

Use the comb attachment for hair (C) to trim your hair.

1. Grasp the sides of the comb attachment for hair and move it to the desired trimming length

(between 3 mm and 15 mm).

Trimming your moustache

Use the comb attachment for moustache (D) to trim your moustache.

1. Grasp the sides of the comb attachment for moustache and move it to the desired trimming length (between 3 mm and 15 mm).

• Actual hair length will be a little longer than the height you set.

2. Slide the power switch on the main body upwards to turn on the trimmer.

3. Move the trimmer upwards with the power switch on the main body facing downwards as illustrated.

Shaping your moustache

1. Remove the comb attachment and turn on the trimmer. 2. Trim around your moustache.

Shaping your sideburns

1. Remove the comb attachment and turn on the trimmer. 2. Place the trimmer at a right angle to your skin and cut your sideburns.

Trimming your body hair with the comb attachment for body hair will trim hair length to approx. 0.5 mm.

1. Slide the comb attachment for body hair until it clicks.

2. Move the trimmer in the direction as illustrated to trim your body hair.

Trimming your underarms/bikini area

Use the comb attachment for underarms/bikini area (F) to trim your underarms/bikini area. This comb attachment is suitable for trimming narrow and hollow spots. Trimming your underarms/bikini area with the comb attachment for underarms/bikini area will trim hair length to approx. 0.5 mm.

1. Slide the comb attachment for underarms/bikini area until it clicks.

• Trimming your beard & hair without an attachment will trim beard

& hair length to approx 0.5 mm.

2. Move the trimmer in the direction as illustrated to trim your underarms/bikini area.

Trimming your body hair

Use the comb attachment for body hair (E) to trim your body hair. This comb attachment is suitable for trimming large, flat surfaces.

• Trim body hair to 1 cm or less before using the comb attachment for body hair and underarms/bikini area. • The comb attachment for body hair and underarms/bikini area performs better when used on dry hair. When body hair is wet, apply soap or foam for better performance.

Cleaning with brush 1. Remove the trimmer from the charger. • Be sure to set the power switch to “0•CHARGE” before you remove the blade.

2. Remove the comb attachment.

3. Hold the main body, place your thumb against the blades and then push them away from the main body. 4. Brush off any hair trimmings from the main body and from around the blade.

5. Brush any hair trimmings out from between the stationary blade and the moving blade while pressing down the cleaning lever to raise the moving blade.

1. Remove the trimmer from the charger. 2. Remove the blade. 3. Rinse off any hair trimmings that are sticking to the blades with running water. 4. Rinse out any hair trimmings that are inside the trimmer with running water.

5. Gently shake the trimmer 4 or 5 times and then wipe off any water drops from the trimmer and the blade.

6. Place the trimmer on a towel with the power switch on the main body facing downwards to let it dry fully. Lubrication Apply the oil to the trimmer before and after each use. Apply a drop of the oil to the points indicated by the arrows. Remounting the blade Fit the mounting hook into the blade mounting on the trimmer and then push in until you hear a click.

2. Wipe off any dirt on the charger and the charger cover using a soft cloth.

• Wipe the prongs of the plug with a dry cloth about once every 6 months.

Disposal of the trimmer battery

Remove the built-in rechargeable battery before disposing of the trimmer. Please make sure that the battery is disposed of at an officially designated location if there is one. Do not dismantle or replace the battery so that you can use the trimmer again. This could cause fire or an electric shock. Please contact an authorised service center. • Remove the trimmer from the charger when removing the battery. • Perform steps 1 to 7 and lift the battery, and then remove it. 

Blade life varies according to the frequency and length of use of the trimmer.

For example, the blade life is approximately 3 years when using the trimmer for 5 minutes 10 times a month. Replace the blades if cutting efficiency reduces substantially despite proper maintenance.

Battery life will vary according to the frequency and length of use.

If the batteries are charged once every 2 weeks, the service life will be approximately 3 years. • It is recommended that the trimmer be recharged at least every 6 months even when not in regular use because the charge will drain from the battery and its service life may be shortened.

This trimmer contains a Nickel‑Metal Hydride battery. Please make sure that the battery is disposed of at an officially assigned location, if there is one in your country.
