To thread the thread into the bobbin (or rather wind the thread onto the bobbin) of your VERITAS JSB21, you first need to prepare the lower thread by winding the thread onto the bobbin, then insert this filled bobbin into the shuttle.

Step 1 - Preparing the winding
Place a full spool on the spool holder (to the left of the machine). Pull the thread from the spool by passing it through the thread guide and the pre-tension pulley, following the numbered path 1 and 2 on the machine.

Step 2 - Winding the thread onto the bobbin
Manually wind the thread several times clockwise around the empty bobbin. Place the bobbin on the designated shaft. Push the release button (located in the handwheel) forward to activate the winding mode.

Step 3 - Automatic winding
Gently press the pedal so that the machine automatically winds the thread onto the bobbin. You can stop at any time by releasing the pedal. Important: Never touch the release button while the machine is sewing, as this could be very dangerous. Monitor the winding and stop when the bobbin is filled to the indicated dimensions.

Step 4 - Removing the bobbin
Once the winding is complete, push the full spool to the left to disconnect it from the handwheel. Remove the bobbin from the shaft and cut the thread.

Step 5 - Inserting the filled bobbin into the shuttle
Insert the filled bobbin into the shuttle ensuring that the thread winds in the direction of the arrow (clockwise). Pass the thread through the slot of the shuttle. By pulling the thread to the left, slide it under the tension spring, then through the exit hole. Bring the needle to its highest position. Leave about 10 cm of thread hanging out of the shuttle, then insert the shuttle into the race while holding the latch. Ensure that the bobbin is properly in place before releasing the latch.

Your lower thread is now ready. Remember to thread the upper thread following the indicated numbered path on the machine (from right to left), then you can start sewing.
