The steam is not coming out of the iron - how to solve this problem?

If steam is not coming out of your FAGOR PLC-809CC iron, it is usually due to a simple and easily solvable issue. First, check that the low steam level indicator (i) is steadily lit (and not flashing). As long as this indicator is flashing, the generator is in preheating mode and cannot produce steam. Wait a few minutes until the indicator lights up steadily.

Next, check the water level in the tank by looking at the water level indicator (a) on the unit. If the water level indicator lights up, it means the tank is empty or insufficient. Press the water tank opening button (h), remove it, and fill it up to the MAX mark with tap water. Replace the tank and restart the preheating of the device.

If your iron has not been used for more than 15 minutes, the device has automatically switched to “Standby” mode: the power indicator is flashing. Press the I/O light switch (b) once to immediately reactivate the device.

Also check the anti-scale cartridge change indicator (g): if it is flashing, the anti-scale cartridge that purifies the water and removes hardness needs to be replaced. The lifespan of this cartridge depends on the hardness of your water. If you do not have a new cartridge, you can use distilled water instead of tap water. You will find replacement instructions in the chapter “Replacing the anti-scale cartridge” in your manual.

If after checking all these points the low steam level indicator (i) still does not light up or flash when starting, the generator is not heating properly. Do not use the device and contact an authorized FAGOR After-Sales Service immediately for professional repair, as forcing operation is dangerous.
