Frequently Asked Questions - COMFORT 112 NOISE CANCELLING BLAUPUNKT

How do I activate active noise cancellation?
The BLAUPUNKT COMFORT 112 headphones have a switch on the left ear cup to activate or deactivate active noise cancellation. A rotary knob then allows you to adjust the attenuation level according to your environment.
What batteries are needed and what is the battery life?
The ANC system is powered by 2 AAA batteries, housed in the right ear cup. Blaupunkt claims a battery life of about 20 hours per set of batteries. AAA batteries are included in the box upon purchase.
Can I use the headphones without the batteries?
Yes. The COMFORT 112 operates in passive mode even without batteries: just plug in the cable and listen normally. The active noise cancellation will simply be disabled, without affecting audio playback.
What type of plug does the supplied cable use?
The audio cable included with the headphones is equipped with a 3.5 mm jack. The box also contains a 6.35 mm jack adapter and an airplane adapter for in-flight entertainment systems.
Are the headphones compatible with airplanes?
Yes. An airplane adapter is included in the package, making the COMFORT 112 directly compatible with in-flight entertainment systems. Active noise cancellation is particularly effective in flight to reduce engine noise.
What frequency range does the noise cancellation act on?
The ANC of the COMFORT 112 targets low-frequency noises between 150 Hz and 250 Hz, with attenuation greater than 16 dB. This is precisely the range of airplane, train, or air conditioning engine noises.
How do I fold and store the headphones?
The ear cups pivot to allow for compact flat storage. The headphones come with a semi-rigid zippered carrying case that protects the set during travel.
The sound is cracking or seems distorted: what should I do?
First, check the battery status (low batteries degrade ANC performance and may cause sound artifacts). Ensure the jack plug is properly inserted into the source device. If the issue persists, test with another device or cable to isolate the cause.
What devices are these headphones compatible with?
The 3.5 mm jack is compatible with smartphones, tablets, MP3 players, CD, DVD, and computers. For 6.35 mm jack outputs (amplifiers, mixing consoles), use the provided adapter.
Is the headband adjustable?
Yes. The headband of the COMFORT 112 is adjustable in length to fit different head shapes and ensure optimal comfort during long listening sessions.
How do I maintain the ear cushions?
Wipe the cushions with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive products that could damage the coating. Allow to dry completely before putting the headphones back on.

Comfort 112 Noise Cancelling Headphones

The Comfort 112 Noise Cancelling are stereo headphones with active noise cancellation and suitable for use with audio systems in airplanes, stereo systems and portable audio devices. Loudspeakers with a diameter of 40 mm ensure a high-quality sound experience. The active noise cancellation of more than 85 % enables an undisturbed music playback in a noise-filled environment while being comfortable to wear. The noise cancellation effect can manually be adjusted to the noise environment. These headphones can be used as passive headphones if the noise cancellation is switched off and act as pure noise protection when they are used wireless with switched on noise cancellation.

Safety notes and general information

  • Read these instructions carefully and completely before using the headphones.
  • Using the headphones at a high volume over an extended period of time can result in permanent damage to your hearing. If you perceive auditory noises, reduce the volume or stop using the headphones.
  • Ensure that a low volume is set prior to switching on the connected audio device. A sudden high volume can lead to hearing damage.
  • Do not use the headphones in situations in which the impaired perception of noises from the environment could lead to an accident, e.g. in traffic or during manual labour.
  • Do not expose the headphones to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, high humidity or mechanical shock. Use the headphones only in clean locations free of sand and dust.
  • Store the headphones and the accessories outside the reach of children under the age of 3.
  • To avoid damages or deformations, do not drop the headphones and do not place any heavy objects on the headphones.
  • Ensure that no liquid enters into the earpiece. It can destroy the electronics and cause a short circuit.

Cleaning notes

  • To clean the outside surfaces of the headphones, use only a dry and soft cloth. Do not use any solvents or cleaning agents.
  • If necessary, clean the plugs of the audio cable with a soft cloth. Dirty plugs can reduce the sound quality.

Close the cover of the battery compartment and push it up until it audibly engages.
- Take the batteries out of the battery compartment if you do not use the headphones for an extended period of time.
- The batteries must be replaced if the power-on indicator no longer illuminates.
- The power consumption of the headphones is low. When using alkaline batteries, the operating time is approx. 70 hours.
- Batteries may not be deformed, short-circuited or thrown into a fire.
- Batteries may leak if used improperly. This creates an explosion or fire hazard. Remove spent batteries from the battery compartment.
