Frequently Asked Questions - KP 2150 Stripe ECG

How to descale the coffee maker?
Mix 1 part vinegar with 3 parts cold water. Fill the water tank with this mixture, place a carafe, and run a brewing cycle without coffee. Repeat if necessary until yellowish liquid stops. Then brew clean water until vinegar smell disappears.
Why is coffee dripping slowly or overflowing?
This may be due to coffee grind being too fine or containing too much fat. Use a coarser grind. Also check if the nylon filter is clogged; rinse it with clean water.
Can I use paper filters in this coffee maker?
Yes, you can insert a paper filter size #4 into the nylon filter. In that case, use coarser ground coffee for best results.
What does the auto shut-off feature do?
The coffee maker will automatically turn off 38 minutes after the brewing cycle ends. You can also switch it off manually using the power button.
What should I do if water leaks from the bottom?
Do not use the coffee maker. Leaks indicate internal issues. Contact an authorized service center for inspection and repair.
How often should I clean the coffee maker?
Clean the exterior with a damp cloth regularly. Descaling should be done every three months or more often depending on water hardness and frequency of use.
Can I leave the empty carafe on the warming plate?
No, leaving an empty carafe on the warming plate may cause the glass to crack. Remove the carafe after serving or when not in use.
Why is the coffee maker not turning on?
The coffee maker may have overheated and activated the automatic safety system. Let it cool down, then try again. If it still does not work, contact an authorized service center.
How to clean the nylon filter?
Remove the filter holder and discard coffee grounds. Rinse the nylon filter with clean water. You can also wash it with mild detergent, but rinse thoroughly.
Is the carafe dishwasher safe?
No, the carafe is not recommended for the dishwasher. Wash it by hand with mild detergent and water, then dry thoroughly.
