Frequently Asked Questions - KP 129 ECG

How do I prepare the coffee maker for first use?
Before first use, rinse the coffee maker by running a cycle with 1200 ml of water (no coffee). This ensures optimal taste from the first brew.
What type of coffee grind should I use?
Use a medium to coarse grind. Too fine coffee may cause slow dripping or overflow. Adjust the amount using the included measuring spoon based on your preferred strength.
How do I descale the coffee maker?
Descale every 3 months or as needed. Fill the carafe with 1 part vinegar and 3 parts cold water, pour into the water tank, and run a brew cycle without coffee. Repeat until no yellow liquid appears, then run fresh water cycles to remove vinegar odor.
What does the auto shut-off feature do?
The coffee maker automatically switches off 40 minutes after brewing. You can also turn it off manually via the On/Off switch at any time.
Can I remove the carafe during brewing?
Yes, the anti-drip system allows you to remove the carafe for up to 30 seconds to pour a cup. If left longer, coffee may spill over the funnel.
How do I clean the coffee maker?
Unplug and let cool. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Remove the filter holder by turning clockwise and wash all removable parts (carafe, filter, water container) with detergent and water. Do not immerse the base in water.
What should I do if coffee drips slowly or spills over?
Possible causes: coffee grind is too fine (use coarser grind), or the nylon filter is clogged (rinse with water). Ensure the carafe is correctly aligned with the filter outlet.
Why is water leaking from the bottom?
This indicates an internal leak. Stop using the coffee maker immediately and contact an authorized service center for repair.
What does the red indicator light mean?
The red light turns on when the coffee maker is powered on. It remains lit during brewing and warming mode, and turns off when the appliance is switched off.
Is the coffee maker safe for children to use?
