Accessories
Iron pressure and the accumulation of dust particles and fluff can affect the permeability of the special ironing board cover and therefore the performance of the Active Ironing Board. We recommend that the ironing board cover is changed according to frequency of use and at least once a year. The Leifheit special ironing board cover with superb air and steam permeability. Please use authentic Leifheit accessories only!

Important!
Read these instructions thoroughly before use and keep for further reference.
We recommend you pay particular attention to the safety advice.
Please be aware that this product is only intended for household use.
Leifheit provides no manufacturer's warranty for commercial use (e.g. laundrettes, sewing studios, tailors etc...).
Do not "park" the iron on the ironing surface. Instead, always park it on the grey silicone rest provided for that purpose on the integrated steam station.
You might otherwise cause deformation of the ironing surface, which is not covered by the guarantee.
This Active Ironing Board conforms to approved technical regulations and to Electrical Safety Directive 2006/95/EC.
Connect this appliance to an AC power supply only (voltage indicated on plate on underside of appliance). The appliance conforms to EU Directive 2004/108 regarding EMC.
Electrical safety of this appliance is only assured when it is earthed according to electrical safety regulations. The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for any damage which might result from defective earthing of the appliance. If in doubt, contact a qualified technician.
As far as possible, do not use any adapters, multigang sockets or extension cables. If this is unavoidable, only use an adapter, multigang socket or extension cable which conforms to safety regulations and never exceed the maximum capacity indicated on the adapter.
Packaging materials (plastic bags, polystyrene, etc.) are a potential source of danger and must be kept out of the reach of children.
Do not touch the cord with wet or damp hands or feet.
Do not touch the appliance with wet or damp hands.
Disconnect the plug from the mains before cleaning.
Do not put any objects into the appliance's apertures.
This electrical appliance is not a toy. Therefore, use and store the Active Ironing Board outside the reach of children. Do not let the mains cord hang down.
Improper repair work could expose the user to considerable risk and will invalidate the warranty.
Important: Repairs to this appliance should only be carried out by Leifheit's Customer Service or by authorised personnel.
This device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory or intellectual capacity or who have no experience and/or no knowledge of how to use it, unless they are supervised by a responsible person or were given instruction by that person in how to use the device.
Always loop the Active Ironing Board's cord loosely.
Avoid kinking the cord and always check for the cord for damage.
The entire system must only be used up to a height of 2,000 meters above sea level.
LEIFHEIT
Handle the cord at the plug only - do not use the cord to pull the plug out of the socket.
Always disconnect the plug from the mains before leaving the room, before cleaning and maintenance and after use.
Do not use the Active Ironing Board if there is any damage to the appliance, the cord or the cord grip.
Please contact Customer Service at all times if the cord appears to be damaged.
Check the condition of the appliance when it is unpacked. If in doubt, do not use the appliance and consult a qualified technician.
Do not move the Active Ironing Board whilst in use.
The Active Ironing Board must always be used in a dry environment and must not be used outdoors. It must always be set up in a safe location on a level surface.
The height adjustment setting of the Active Ironing Board must always be in the locked position.
Do not adjust the height adjustment lever whilst ironing. The steam station or the iron might otherwise fall off or the Active Ironing Board might close down.
Only use the Active Ironing Board for the purpose for which it is intended and not as a rest support, stool, etc.
Do not allow the electrical components (blower control, built-in socket) to come into contact with water.
Only damp or dry items are to be ironed (No wet items)
Do not immerse the appliance in water.
When using the iron from a steam station, do not allow any moisture to access electrical components.
If the appliance is serviced improperly or not according to the instructions, the manufacturer accepts no responsibility for any damage which might arise.
When the appliance is to be disposed of, it should be rendered unusable (e.g. by cutting off the cord and plug).
Never rest the iron on the cover during the ironing process. Only use the iron rest of your steam station.

Stand the Active Ironing Board on a firm, level surface.
Unwind the cord on the Active Ironing Board and carefully move the frame forwards.
The Active Ironing Board folds out and can be set to the required position. The Active Ironing Board can then be tipped forward to stand on the floor.
The Active Ironing Board has 6 height adjustable positions (max. height is approx. 100cm) so that you can stand or sit to iron.
To adjust the height, take hold of the ironing board with both hands. Lift the ironing board up slightly and pull the lever with one hand.
(The ironing board has to be slightly raised for safety reasons, i.e. to prevent the lever from being activated accidentally.) Only when you hear the ironing board lock into place is it secure.
...preparation

Commercially available steam stations only may be used with the iron rest.
To ensure trouble-free ironing, the steam station must be correctly positioned on the iron rest in a horizontal position.
Plug the mains plug of the Active Ironing Board into a wall socket.
Then plug the steam station mains plug into the socket, thus providing a power supply to the steam station.

To get the best out of your Active Ironing Board, please follow these instructions for use of the blower function:
Suction function
- holds the fabric firmly on the board to prevent creasing.
Steam extraction
- should be switched on continuously if possible, in order to remove excess steam from the Active Ironing Table and from inside the housing.
- enables the steam to penetrate the fi bres better, thus saving time and improving ironing results.
- keeps the Active Ironing Table dry and helps to dry fabrics even whilst they're being ironed.
- enables laundry items to cool off faster by the throughput of air, thereby preserving the fabric quality.
Blower function
- provides crease-free ironing results with delicate fabrics and items of clothing resting on a cushion of air.
- protects delicate items.
- enables laundry items to cool off faster by the throughput of air, thereby preserving the fabric quality.
- for dry ironing without steam, the blower functions can remain switched off.

LEIFHEIT
When you have fi nished, proceed as follows:
First remove the steam station, first ensuring that you have read the instructions for use which came with your steam station and iron.
Switch off the Active Ironing Board (0 setting). Disconnect the cord for the Active Ironing Board from the mains and take the steam station plug out of the socket.
Then remove the steam st. from the iron rest.
Cleaning your
Active Ironing Board:
The Active Ironing Board can only be cleaned when the plug is disconnected from the mains and when the steam station has cooled down.
Clean using a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the appliance. Do not use detergents of any kind.
...storing away

To store the Active Ironing Board away:
Take hold of the Active Ironing Board with both hands, lift it up slightly and fold together using the lever. Wind the cord up loosely in loops, making sure that it is not squashed or kinked.
The Active Ironing Board can be stored away folded up (with the universal iron rest at the top). Place the Active Ironing Board in a safe position so that it will not fall over.
The transport lock should be engaged to secure the frame whilst the board is folded up.

Maintenance and care
Maintenance and servicing work must always be carried out when the equipment has cooled down and has been disconnected from the power supply.
Dust should be removed from the ironing board on a monthly basis to guarantee the ventilation function.
Ideally, after using the system, the condense water drip protection sponge should be wrung out. To prevent germ formation in the sponge, the condensation collection tank should be removed regularly and the sponge inside it rinsed out, cleaned and reinserted after it has dried.

Our products are subject to the strict Leifheit quality control standards. Please follow the steps below if the Air Active Ironing Board you have purchased does not work perfectly due to unexpected defects or if it gives cause for complaint in any other way:
- Call the Leifheit customer service hotline and explain the problems which have arisen. The customer service staff will perform a remote diagnosis and, where applicable, discuss with you what further steps need to be taken.
- If the Air Active Ironing Board needs to be sent in to the after-sales service centre for diagnosis or repair, please fill out the warranty card and enclose it along with a copy of the receipt in the return package. Please also obtain confirmation of collection of the package from the parcel service.
Claims on the manufacturer's warranty in respect of material defects and faulty manufacture are subject to the following terms and conditions:
- Leifheit AG, Leifheitstraße, 56377 Nassau/Lahn, Germany supplies its products with a two-year warranty.
- The warranty period starts on the date on the receipt. Please keep the receipt carefully as proof of purchase.
- Claims must be made on the warranty as soon as the defect occurs within the warranty period. Any obvious damage and defects visible on unpacking the product must be reported immediately.
- The guarantee relates to the condition of the products, i.e. the warranty is only for defects arising as a result of faults in the material or faulty manufacture.
The following instances are not covered by the warranty:
a) Defects caused by use or by other naturally occurring wear and tear;
b) Damage caused by improper use or handling (e.g. knocks, impact sustained by falls, undue force);
c) Damage caused by failure to follow the instructions for the use of the product.
- It is left to the discretion of the manufacturer to choose whether to replace or to repair the defective parts free of charge during the warranty period.
- If a product cannot be repaired or replaced with an identical product because the line has been discontinued, it will be replaced, as far as possible, with a product of the same value. The purchase price cannot be refunded under the warranty.
- Claims will not be honoured under the warranty if the product has been repaired or assembled by unauthorised persons or service centres.

The warranty does not cover claims for damages. No liability can be accepted for such damage as may arise if the product is used incorrectly or improperly or for purposes other than intended while it is covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

The warranty does not cover damage in transit.
- The term of guarantee will not be extended if a claim is made on the warranty. This also applies to any parts which are replaced or repaired.
- Your statutory rights, especially your warranty rights, will not be affected or restricted by the warranty.
- This warranty is valid worldwide.
You can still use the after-sales repair service after the manufacturer's warranty period has expired (please call customer services first to discuss your requirements).
The after-sales service staff may also be able to help with remote diagnosis of problems, additional ironing tips and advice.
Disposal
Should you need to dispose of your appliance, it should first be rendered unusable (e.g. by cutting off the cord and the plug) and then disposed of in accordance with current regulations.
Your local authority will be able to provide you with the necessary information. Dispose of packaging appropriately.
