Frequently Asked Questions - AC 14 EHP Master

How do I install the outdoor unit?

Firmly screw the bracket to the wall and hang the outdoor unit. The maximum distance from the floor should be within 1.5 m. Leave the window ajar to avoid damaging the connection tube.

Can I disconnect the indoor unit from the outdoor unit?

Yes, follow these steps: open the tube connection box, disconnect the drain tube, electrical cable, and refrigerant tubes using the spanners provided. Cap the terminals with the provided caps. For safety, this should be done by a qualified AC service worker.

How do I clean the filters?

For the plastic filter, use a vacuum or tap lightly, then rinse under running water (max 40 °C) and dry thoroughly. The active carbon filter is not washable; replace it every 6 months or as needed. Never operate the unit without the filter.

What do error codes E1 and E2 mean?

E1 indicates the ambient temperature sensor head (white socket) is short-cut. E2 indicates the evaporator copper tube temperature sensor head (blue socket) is short-cut. Check if the sensor sockets on the PCB are loose. If the problem persists, call service.

How do I set the timer?

Press the TIMER button to set operating hours (1 to 24). The LCD shows the set time. The unit will turn off automatically after the set hours. You can also pre-set a delayed start by pressing TIMER without other functions.

How does the sleep function work?

In cooling mode, the set temperature increases by 1 °C at the 1st hour and another 1 °C at the 2nd hour, then stays. In heating mode, it decreases similarly. The fan runs at low speed. The unit shuts off after 12 hours. Sleep is only available in cooling or heating mode.

Can I use the air conditioner for heating?

Yes, this model has a heat pump heating function. In heating mode, the unit can run at high, medium, or low speed. If the ambient temperature is higher than the set temperature, heating stops but ventilation continues.

How do I drain condensed water?

For continuous drainage, remove the rubber plug at the rear of the outdoor unit and connect a water tube (diameter 13 mm). For complete drain before storage, unplug the unit, lean it, and remove the rubber plug at the bottom (Fig. 24).

What are the safety precautions for using the air conditioner?

Only use in upright position on a flat level surface. Keep at least 50 cm away from objects. Do not place objects on the unit or restrict air inlet/outlet. Supervise children and pets. Do not use in humid or wet environments. Switch off and unplug when not in use.

How do I regulate the air flow direction?

Turn the roller on the air vent horizontally to control the air flow direction (Fig. 21).

INSTALLATION

This product is an air conditioner. It is fitted with an indoor mobile unit and an outdoor unit that can be rested on the floor or wall. The two units are connected to each other by a 3 meters flexible tube. (Fig. 8, 9)

Installation of the outdoor unit.

1. Firmly screw the bracket to the wall. (Fig. 10)

2. Hang the outdoor unit. (Fig. 11)

Notice!

1. The maximum distance for the outdoor unit to the floor should be within 1.5 M.

2. To avoid damaging the connection tube, leave the window ajar.

Disconnecting the indoor & outdoor unit

If you need to disconnect the indoor unit from the outdoor unit (to place it in a more suitable position), please follow the steps below:

1. Open the tube connection box situated at the back of the indoor unit. (Fig.12).

1. Disconnect the electrical cable (Fig.13)

2. Disconnect the refrigerant tubes using the spanners provided.(fig.13). During this operation, takes extreme care not to break the refrigerant tubes

3. Open the fixing clip above the tube connection box.

4. Cap the terminals with provided caps to prevent them from dust. (FIG. 14)

5. Mount the outdoor unit on the bracket as previous described. 8. Pass the connecting tube through the hole in the wall if present (at least DIA. 50mm)
6. Remove the protection cap (If you have capped them previously. Reconnect the refrigerant tubes, drain tube and the electrical cable in opposite steps. (FIG. 15)
7. Close the tube connection box. (FIG. 16)

Warning!:

For safety reasons mounting and dismounting of separate parts of the air conditioner must be handled by a qualified AC service worker. During the dismounting, the refrigerant is likely to evaporate and thus needs to be refilled.

Refills of the refrigerant are payable.

Installation of the carbon filter (Fig. 17)

1. Remove the filter frame from the unit.
2. Remove the active carbon filter from its plastic bag..
3. Insert the active carbon filter into the filter frame.
4. Re-fit the filter frame inside the unit..

LCD Display (Fig. 19):

1. Fan Speed indicator.. 3 speed LOW-MED-HIGH.
2. Auto Mode indicator - Auto Cooling, Auto Fan, and Auto Heating function.
3. Cooling Function indicator. Total 3 speeds LOW-MED-HIGH. When cooling function is running, the block line would Flash.
4. Dehumidifying Function or water full indicator. Under dehumidifying function, the sign of 3 water drops in the middle will flash. When running water full function, the sign of water tank and the 2 small water drops will flash..
5. Fan indicator. Under Fan mode, the symbol would be turning around.
6. Heating Function indicator (either Heating Pump or PTC (heater). Under Heating mode, the heating symbol would be ON and the (5) symbol would be turning around, too.
7. Timer indicator (1 to 24 hours).
8. UV Function indicator - it is not available in this model
9. Ionizer Function indicator - it is not available in this model
10. Sleeping Function indicator.
11. Temperature Indicator (18 to o 32 °C).

Turning ON/OFF

1. Press ON/OFF button, the unit will start automatically. If the ambient temperature is:

2. >23^ , the unit will work in cooling model.

3. >20^ but < 23^ , the unit will work in ventilation model
   • below 20 °C, the unit will work in heating function (This is for cooling & heating models only.),

4. In the LCD monitor, sign of the functions in progress come on at the same time.

5. To turn the unit off, press ON/OFF button again.

Setting mode/function

Press MODE button to select required working mode: automatic, cooling, fan, dehumidification or heating, (Heating is only available for heating & cooling models.)

Sign of your selected mode comes on.

Setting temperature

1. Press Temperature up' or 'Temperature down' button to regulate the temperature you desired (18 to 32 °C).
2. The display window will show the temperature you set as you press 'Temperature up' or 'Temperature down' button. Otherwise, it will always show the ambient temperature (0 to 0.50 °C).
3. The pre-setting temperature of this machine is: 24 °C for cooling, 20 °C for heating.

Setting ventilation speed

1. Press SPEED button to choose the ventilation speed you need, high, medium or low. The sign of high, low or medium ventilation will light on at the same time.
2. If the unit is in AUTO mode, it will choose the ventilation speed automatically according to the ambient temperature.

Setting timer

1. Press TIMER button to set the operating hours you desired (1 to 24 hours, the sign of timer will light on). When the set time has been reached, the machine will turn off automatically. The LCD will show the hour(s) you set as you press TIMER button. If the timer button is not pressed, the unit will work continuously.
2. By pressing the timer but without turning on the other functions, you can PRE-SET the time for the machine to work. For example, if you press the timer to '2', the unit will work automatically after 2 hours.

Sleep function

1. In cooling mode, by pressing the SLEEP button, the set temperature will increase 1 °C at o the 1st hour, another 1 °C at the second hour, then keeps at that temperature.
2. In heat mode, by pressing the SLEEP button, the set temperature will descend 1°C at the o 1st hour, another 1°C at the second hour, then keeps at that temperature.
3. In sleep mode, the ventilation will keep at low speed. Repress the SLEEP button, the setting temperature and ventilation speed will return to the pre-selected one.
4. The unit will shut down automatically after the SLEEP function running for 12 hours.
5. Please note, the sleep function is not available while the machine is working in ventilation, dehumidification or auto mode. Only available in Cooling or Heating mode.
6. When the machine is in Sleeping function, the Fan Speed would turn to be LOW speed.

Dehumidification function

In dehumidification mode, the temperature cannot be adjusted, the ventilation will fix at low speed.

Heating function

The air conditioner has heating function (heat pump). When using this function, the ambient warm air is recycled and use to heat the area where it is required. Under this system, the machine can run at HIGH/MED./LOW speed

Self-diagnosis

This machine is equipped with self-diagnosis function. If something is wrong in the machine, the LCD will show the word "E1" or "E2". At this time, please call your service center.

** E1: the ambient temperature sensor head (with white socket) is short-cut.

** E2: the temperature sensor head of evaporator copper tube (with blue socket) is short-cut.

To check the sensor socket of PCB inside the electronic box, to see if any loosen.

All the above functions can also be performed with the supplied remote control.

This remote control requires 2 pcs AAA batteries to operate (Fig. 20)

Regulating air flow direction (Fig. 21)

Turn the roller on the air vent in horizontal way to control the air flow direction.

NOTICE!

1. To prolong the compressor's life, after switch-off of the unit, please wait for 3 minutes (at least) before re-switch.
2. The cooling system will switch off if the ambient temperature is lower than the set one. The ventilation, however, keeps working on the set level. If the ambient temperature rises above the selected level, the cooling will return to work.
3. On the contrary, the heating will switch off if the ambient temperature is HIGHER than the set one (still, the ventilation keeps working on the set level). As the ambient temperature drops below the selected level, the heating will return to work.
4. This machine is equipped with ANTI-FROST function. While using the heating function during low temperature, sometimes the heating will stop for a while in order to melt the frost. As this occurs, just wait for the heating resumes working.

DRAINAGE

It is suggested to use drainage tube for continuous drainage function..

Pls remove the rubber plug at the rear of the outdoor unit must be removed (see FIG. 23). You may also connect the discharge hole with a water tube (Diameter 13 mm) to channel the water to a proper place. Make sure the water will always drain away freely.

Especially when the machine is running HEAT PUMP function, it must use drainage tube for continuous drainage, otherwise, the condensed water will spill out from the air vent of the outdoor unit, this will weaken the heating performance and may shorten the product life span.

Complete drain

Please note, all condensed water must be drained prior to relocation or storage. Although the water has been drained, some water may still remain inside. To drain the remained water, please:

1. Unplug the unit.
2. Lean the unit and take out the rubber plug at the bottom of the unit (FIG.24)
3. Replace the rubber plug as the water is drained out.

MAINTENANCE

Always unplug the air conditioner from the mains before cleaning. To maximize the efficiency of the air conditioner clean regularly.

Cleaning the housing

Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the body clean.

Never use aggressive chemicals, gasoline, detergents, chemically treated cloths, or other cleansing solutions. These all could possibly hurt the cabinet.

Cleaning the filter

For plastic filter - Use a vacuum cleaner or tap the filter lightly to remove loose dust and dirt from the filters and then rinse thoroughly under running water (no hotter than 40 °C).

Dry thoroughly before replacing.

Notice! Never operate the unit without this filter.

For active carbon This filter is not washable. Its life span is variable and depends on the ambient conditions where the appliance is used. The filter should be checked periodically (about every 6 months) and replaced if necessary.

End of season storage (Fig. 25)

! To dry the inside thoroughly, drain any water in the unit, then set the unit on ventilation mode for a few hours
! Clean or change the filter
! Unplug and store the power cord as shown
! Replace in the original carton or cover for storage

FAULT CHECK LIST

The air conditioner does not run.	Is the air conditioner plugged in?Is there a power failure?Is the room temperature below the set temperature?
The machine seems to do little.	Is there direct sunshine? (Please put down the curtain.)Are too many windows or doors open?Are there too many people in the room?Is there something in the room producing lots of heat?
The machine seems to do nothing.	Is the filter dusty, contaminated?Is the air intake or output blocked up?Is the room temperature below your elected temperature?
Too noisy.	Is the machine positioned unevenly so as to create vibration?Is the floor underneath the machine uneven?
The compressor doesn't run.	Is so, it is possible the overheat protection of the compressor is on. Just wait for the temperature to drop.

Never try to repair or dismantle the unit yourself
