Frequently Asked Questions - PR700 GPS Navitel

How to install the microSD card?
Insert a high-speed microSD card (Class 10 or above, 8-64 GB) into the slot. Format the card inside the DVR via Menu > Format SD-card before first use to avoid data errors. Do not insert or remove the card during recording.
How to connect the DVR to Wi-Fi and use the app?
Enable Wi-Fi in the DVR Menu (Wi-Fi: On). On your mobile, download Navitel DVR Center from the app store. In the app, select your DVR from the list (Wi-Fi name shown in DVR Menu > Wi-Fi Navitel) and connect. Use the default password or change it in DVR Menu > Wi-Fi password.
How does the parking monitor work?
When the device is off and vibration is detected (e.g., impact), it automatically turns on and starts recording. The recorded file is locked (protected). To enable, go to Menu settings and turn on Parking Monitor.
What to do if there is no GPS signal?
Weak GPS signal can be caused by bad weather or obstructions. Ensure the mount with GPS antenna is properly connected to the mini-USB port (not the micro-USB). Drive in an open area for better reception. The device will display '---' if no signal.
How to lock a recording to prevent deletion?
During recording, press the Power button briefly to lock the current file (lock icon appears). Alternatively, in Video mode, select a file, press Menu > Protect > Lock Current or Lock All. Locked files cannot be overwritten or deleted.
Can I use the device for speed camera alerts?
Yes, enable Camera Info in the settings. The DVR will display speed, distance to camera, and a progress bar. It uses GPS data to warn about known cameras and warnings. You can also set overspeed permission (-5 to +25 km/h) for sound notifications.
How to format the SD card?
Go to Menu > Format SD-card and confirm. Formatting is recommended before first use or when data errors occur. Use the DVR itself, not a computer, to ensure proper formatting.
What is the battery life and how is it charged?
The built-in 500 mAh battery is designed for emergency parking mode and safe shutdown, not for continuous use. For full operation, connect the car charger to the cigarette lighter. The red indicator lights up when charging; it dims as the battery fills, and goes out when full.
How to reset the device if it freezes?
Use a paperclip or similar object to press the Reset button on the device. This will restart the DVR without losing settings. If problems persist, ensure the SD card is formatted and the firmware is up to date.
Can I view and share videos on my phone?
Yes, via the Navitel DVR Center app. Connect your phone to the DVR's Wi-Fi network, then you can view live video, play back recordings, save, delete, and share videos and photos. The app also allows firmware updates and settings configuration.
