Pre-checking

  • Before starting to use the freezer, check that:
  • The interior is dry and there is enough space for air to circulate freely at the rear.
  • Clean the inside of the freezer according to the recommendations in the “Cleaning and maintenance” section.
  • Connect the plug into a power socket; the red light on the freezer will come on. The green light will come on and the compressor will start running.
  • You will hear a noise indicating that the compressor has started to run. Liquid and gases within the refrigeration system may also give rise to noises, whether the compressor is running or not, indicating normal operation.
  • If you are going to store already frozen food, open the freezer door and check that the freezer has reached the correct temperature. You can then insert already frozen food.
  • Do not store food in the appliance immediately after switching it on. Wait for it to reach the correct storage temperature.

ENGLISH

Note:

  • If a power failure occurs, do not open the door. Frozen food should not be affected if the breakdown lasts less than 20 hours. If the failure lasts more than 20 hours, check the food and consume it immediately or cook and refreeze it.
  • If you find that the freezer door is difficult to open immediately after closing it, this is normal. This is due to the pressure difference, which will equalise and allow the door to open normally after a few minutes.

3. INSTALLATION AND TRANSPORT

Installation instructions. Fig. 2

  • If possible, avoid placing the appliance near cookers, radiators, or direct sunlight, as this will cause the compressor to work harder than usual. If installed next to a heat or cooling source, maintain the following minimum distances:
  • Distance to cookers: 100 mm (4")
  • Distance to radiators: 300 mm (12")
  • Distance to refrigerators: 100 mm (4")
  • Make sure that there is sufficient space around the appliance to ensure free air circulation. The ideal distance is a space of at least 100 mm around the freezer, and you should be sure to leave gaps as shown in figure 2.
  • The appliance must be placed on a smooth surface.
  • Do not place the freezer in a damp place to prevent the metal parts from rusting. Do not spray water into the freezer, as this will weaken the insulation and cause energy leakage.
  • Refer to the "Before Use" section to prepare your device.
  • If the freezer is installed in unheated areas, garages, etc., condensation may form on the outside surfaces in cold weather. This is normal and not a fault. Remove condensation with a dry cloth.

Transport instructions

  • The device may only be transported in an upright position. The supplied packaging must remain intact during transport.
  • If the product is transported in a horizontal position, it should be placed on its left side only (taking the front of the door as a reference) and should not be operated for at least 4 hours to allow the system to adapt after the product has been returned to a vertical position.
  • The device must be protected against rain, humidity, and other atmospheric phenomena.

Important

  • When cleaning/carrying the device, be careful not to touch the metal wires of the capacitor at the back of the device, as this may cause injury to fingers and hands or damage to the product.
  • This appliance is not designed to be installed on top of another appliance. Do not attempt to sit or stand on your device, as it is not designed for this purpose. You could injure yourself or damage the appliance.
  • Make sure that the power cord is not trapped under the appliance during and after transporting or moving the appliance to prevent the power cord from being cut or damaged.
  • When positioning the appliance, take care not to damage the floor, pipes, wall coverings, etc. Do not move the appliance by pulling on the door or handle.

4. OPERATION

  • The temperature inside the freezer is regulated by a thermostat setting selector (Fig. 3).
  • The levels on the selector do not refer to the exact temperature, but indicate the following:

o 1 (refrigeration mode): temperature of 5 °C.
o 2-4 (freezer mode): temperature between -12 °C and -18 °C.
o 4-7 (freezer mode): temperature between -18 °C and -24 °C.
- 7 (fast freezing option): temperature below -24 °C.
- Adjust the temperature according to the situation of use.

Warning

The actual temperature of the compartment has an error margin of ±3 ^ compared to the set temperature, which is normal phenomenon and does not affect the normal use of the product.

Fast freezing (below -24 °C)

If you select the fast freezing option, you must keep the freezer in continuous operation. Food will cool down quickly.

Warning

Select another level when you have finished with the quick freeze option. Do not keep this option selected longer than necessary.

Refrigerator mode

  • When you change the refrigerator mode to another, you must take out the food to prevent it from spoiling when frozen.
  • If you switch from freezer mode to refrigerator mode, you must follow the steps below:
  • Set the thermostat selector switch to refrigeration mode.
  • Remove all frozen food from the freezer chamber and keep it empty for one hour.
  • Insert the food you want.

ENGLISH

Storing frozen food

  • Commercially pre-frozen food should be stored according to the supplier's instructions.
  • To preserve the quality of frozen food, you should remember the following:
  • Place packages in the freezer as soon as possible after purchase.
  • Do not exceed the best-before or use-by dates on the packaging.

Freezing fresh food

  • Place fresh food to be frozen close to the side walls to ensure rapid freezing and away from already frozen food, if possible.
  • Never exceed maximum capacity. Do not freeze too large a quantity at one time.
  • Food is best preserved when fully frozen as quickly as possible.
  • Do not mix frozen food with fresh food.

5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Always unplug the appliance before cleaning it.
  • Never use any sharp abrasive instruments, soap, household cleaners, detergents, and wax polish for cleaning.
  • Use lukewarm water to clean the freezer interior and wipe it dry with a cloth.
  • Once the inside of the freezer is at room temperature, you can use a damp cloth with a solution of one teaspoon of baking soda with one litre of water to wipe the inside and dry it.
  • You should regularly remove the accumulated ice deposit with a plastic scraper. A large accumulation of ice will have a negative effect on the performance of the freezer.
  • If the freezer is not to be used for a long period of time, turn it off, remove all food, clean it, and leave the door ajar.
  • Check the door seals regularly to ensure that they are clean and free of food remains.

Note

Never use water to wash the compressor. Wipe with a dry cloth after cleaning to prevent rusting.

Defrost

  • Defrost the freezer twice a year or when a frost layer of about 7 mm (1/4") has formed.
  • To ensure that frozen food is at the lowest possible temperature, 6 hours before defrosting, set the thermostat knob to level 7 (fast freeze option). Wrap all food in several layers of newspaper and store in a cool place.
  • Remove the water line and place it in a water container.
  • Remove the basket from the freezer. Remove the basket from the freezer.
  • When defrosting is complete, remove any water that has accumulated in the bottom of the freezer, as described in the section "Draining water", and dry the inside of the freezer thoroughly. Set the thermostat to the fast freeze setting for 3 hours.

Draining water. Fig. 4.

  • There is a drainage outlet at the bottom of the outside of the freezer. When defrosting the freezer, remove the rubber cover, then the defrosting water will be ejected out and discharged through the drainpipe.
  • Pull out the water line, about 20-25 mm, until you can see the water hole.
  • Turn the water line until the arrow points downwards.
  • Make sure that the appliance does not release any more water before putting the water line back in place and make sure that the arrow is pointing upwards.

Please note

  • Do not use pointed or sharp-edged objects, such as knives or forks, to remove frost.
  • It is normal for water droplets or frost to appear on the freezer latch and door seals in humid weather, which will not affect normal use. In this case, wipe it with a dry cloth in good time.

Recommendations

  • Close the door carefully and make sure it is completely closed after use, otherwise the freezer will consume more energy and form more ice.
  • Check the contents of the freezer at regular intervals to ensure the integrity of the food.
  • Prepare the fresh food you want to freeze in small portions to ensure rapid freezing.
  • Wrap all food in aluminium foil or plastic freezer bags and make sure to remove air.
  • Place small items in the basket.
  • Do not put hot food in the freezer. Let it cool down first.
  • Do not put bottles with liquid or closed cans with carbonated beverages in the freezer, as they may explode.
  • Do not store poisonous or dangerous substances in the freezer. Your freezer is designed to store only edible products.
