We congratulate you on the purchase of your new product. You have chosen a high quality product. The instructions for use are part of the product. They contain important information concerning safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the safety information and instructions for use. Only use the product as described and for the specified applications. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.
Intended use
This product is designed for cooking rice or steaming food such as vegetables or fish. Do not use the product for any other purpose.
This product is only intended for private household use, not for commercial purposes.
This product is only intended for use in dry indoor areas.
This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damages caused by improper use.
- Scope of delivery
After unpacking the product, check if the delivery is complete and if all parts are in good condition. Remove all packaging materials before use.

No liability is accepted for consequential damage! In the case of material damage or personal injury caused by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions, no liability is accepted!
Children and persons with disabilities

Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging material. The packaging material represents a danger of suffocation.
Children frequently underestimate the dangers. Always keep children away from the packaging material.
This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
■ Children shall not play with the product.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Keep the product and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
Intended use
⚠ WARNING! Misuse may lead to injury. Use this product solely in accordance with these instructions. Do not attempt to modify the product in any way.
Electrical safety
⚠️ DANGER! Risk of electric shock! Never attempt to repair the product yourself. In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnel only.
⚠ WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Do not immerse the main unit of the product in water or other liquids. Never hold the main unit under running water.
⚠ WARNING! Risk of electric shock! The connector must be removed before the product is cleaned and the appliance inlet must be dried before the product is used again.
⚠ WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Never use a damaged product. Disconnect the product from the power supply and contact your retailer if it is damaged.
⚠ WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Never pour liquids out over the mains cord with mains plug.
The product is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage.
Before connecting the product to the power supply, check that the voltage and current rating corresponds with the power supply details shown on the product's rating label.
■ Regularly check the mains plug and the mains cord for damages. If the mains cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cord or assembly available from the manufacturer or its service agent.
■ Protect the mains cord against damages. Do not let it hang over sharp edges, do not squeeze or bend it. Keep the mains cord away from hot surfaces and open flames.
■ Never touch the mains plug with wet or moist hands.
Operation
⚠️ DANGER! Risk of burns!
During use the product gets hot. Do not touch the product while in use nor immediately after use.
■ The product must not be left unattended while it is connected to the supply mains.
Do not move the product while it is in operation.
- Do not use the product without an inserted cooking pot.
- Do not use the product with a deformed or damaged cooking pot.
- Do not switch on the product when the cooking pot is empty.
Do not place the product on hot plates (gas, electric, coal cooking range etc.). Operate the product on a level, stable, clean, heat-resistant and dry surface.
- Do not cover the product or the steam valve while it is in use or shortly after use, when it is still hot.
- Do not overfill the cooking pot. It may lead to water overflowing from the steam valve during cooking.
■ Lay cords in such a way that they may not be tripped over or otherwise damaged.
The product is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
■ The heating plate is subject to residual heat after use.
■ Use the product only with the provided accessories.
Cleaning and storage
WARNING! Risk of injury!
Unplug the product from the socket-outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow the product to cool before inserting/removing parts, and before cleaning the product. The inlet must be dry before the product is used again.
- Do not store the hot product in a cupboard or in the packaging.
- Do not pull the mains plug out of the electrical outlet by the mains cord.
■ Protect the product, its mains cord and mains plug against dust, direct sunlight, dripping and splashing water.
■ Store the product in a cool, dry place, protected from moisture and out of the reach of children.
■ Protect the product against heat. Do not place the product close to open flames or heat sources such as stoves or heating appliances.
Before first use

Remove the packaging. Check if all parts are complete.
-
To remove residue originated from manufacturing process: Fill the cooking pot 18 with water up to the CUP marking 4. Start cooking for about 30 minutes (see "Steam cooking"). A faint odour may be present. Ensure sufficient ventilation in the area.

Clean the product and its accessories (see "Cleaning and care").
Operation
CAUTION! Risk of scalding! Hot steam escapes from the steam valve 6 and upon opening the lid 1.
i NOTES:
Off mode: The product enters off mode once plugged in without switching on the product by on/off switch. The on/off switch stays in "○" position in off mode.
Before placing the cooking 18 into the main unit 16, make sure the outside of the cooking pot is dry and clean. A wet cooking pot may damage the product.
Do not switch on the product when the cooking pot 18 is empty.
Do not use a deformed cooking 18 . Before operating the product, make sure that the cooking pot is inserted correctly.
☐ Assembling the cooking pot/steamer insert:
- Press the release butto 5 and lift the lid 1 up.
- Place the cooking pc18 into the main unit 16.
- Place the steamer inse 19 on top of the cooking pot 18 if desired.
- Close the li1 using the handle 12.
□ Turning the product on:
- Connect the detachable mains cor 10 to the appliance inlet 7 (at the rear of the main unit 16).
- Connect the mains plu10 to a suitable socket-outlet.
- Set the on/off switc14 to 1. The yellow indicator 📄 3 lights up.
NOTE: Do not press down the cooking button 4 before turning the product on or before you are ready to cook. If the cooking button is currently pressed down, you can push it upwards.
□ Turning the product off:
- Set the on/off switc14 to O.
- Disconnect the mains plu10 from the socket-outlet.
- Disconnect the detachable mains cor10 from the main unit 16.
Start cooking
Cooking tips
□ Always fill the cooking pot 18 between the CUP markings 2 and 5 on the cooking pot's inside.
☐ For a better cooking result, coat the inside of the cooking pot 18 with a little fat or oil.
□ Always follow the preparation instructions on the packaging of the rice.
☐ A level measuring cup 9 of rice is a suitable portion for one person. Determine the appropriate amount of rice and water at your preference.
☐ The cooking time can be shortened by using hot water. When you do so, use a little less water than indicated on the CUP marking.
i NOTES:
If using a different container other than the measuring cup 9, use the Litre (L) marking on the inner side of the cooking pot 18 for measuring water.
Example:
- You want to cook 0.6 litres of rice.
- Measure 600 ml of rice and give the rice into the cooking pot [18].
- Fill water up to the 0.6 L mark into the cooking pot 18.
☐ After placing the rice into the cooking pot [18] : The scale inside the cooking pot represents the amount of water to be added (according to the quantity of rice). Do not use the scale to measure liquids or food, since the scale only applies to this product.
☐ Use the spoon 8 to remove the rice. Use of other utensils may damage the anti-stick coating on the cooking pot 18.
☐ Do not keep the cooked rice warm in the product for more than 2 hours.
□ Example - cooking brown rice
- Cooking brown rice solely will have very strong boiling effect and water overflowing may happen.
- To cook brown rice steadily, we suggest to mix brown rice with white rice in a ratio of 1:2 or 2:3.
Preparing rice
- Press the release button 5 and lift the lid 1 up.
- Remove the cooking pot 18.
- Measure the desired quantity of rice using the measuring cup 9 (fig. C).
- Thoroughly wash the rice to remove debris and the surface starch to avoid the rice getting gummy.
- Drain the washed rice. Pour rice into the cooking pot 18.
- Add water up to the corresponding CUP markings on the inside of the cooking pot 18:

- Place the cooking pot 18 into the main unit 16. Make sure that the cooking pot is not skewed or tilted. Give the cooking pot 18 quarter of a turn each way, to ensure the bottom of the cooking pot makes good contact with the sensor 15.

Close the lid 1. Press the cooking button 4 down.

The yellow indicator 3 goes out.
-
The red indicator 2 lights up.
-
When the rice is cooked, the cooking button 4 automatically pops up.

Wait for 5 minutes before opening the lid 1. Serve the rice.
- Set the on/off switch 14 to O.
- Disconnect the mains plug 10 from the socket-outlet.
- Disconnect the detachable mains cord 10 from the main unit 16 .
NOTE: Always fill the cooking pot 18 between the CUP markings 2 and 5 on the cooking pot's inside.
● Preparing pretreated rice
Pretreated rice, such as "Quick cook rice", requires a shorter cooking time.
- Press the release button 5 and lift the lid 1 up.
- Remove the cooking pot 18.
- Measure the desired quantity of rice using the measuring cup 9 (fig. C).
- Pour rice and the amount of water specified on the rice packaging into the cooking pot 18.
- Place the cooking pot 18 into the main unit 16. Make sure that the cooking pot is not skewed or tilted.

Close the lid 1 and press the cooking button 4 down.

The yellow indicator 3 goes out.

The red indicator 2 lights up.

When the rice is cooked, the cooking button 4 automatically pops up.

☐ Some types of easy-cook rice still have to swell after cooking.

□ Always fill the cooking pot 18 between the CUP markings 2 and 5 on the cooking pot's inside.
- Steam cooking
CAUTION! Risk of burns! Always use oven cloths or mitts to remove the steamer insert 19 from the cooking pot 18.
NOTE: Make sure the cooking pot 18 is placed properly into the main unit 16. Otherwise, the shut-off function may be triggered and the product cannot switch on.
- Pour the desired quantity of water into the cooking pot 18:

- Place the food to be steamed in the steamer insert 19.
- Place the steamer insert 19 onto the cooking pot 18.
- Close the lid 1 and press the cooking button 4 down.
- The yellow indicator 📋 3 goes out.
- The red indicator ☐ 2 lights up.
- When the suggested steaming time has elapsed, push the cooking button 4 upwards.
- The red indicator ☐ 2 goes out.
- The yellow indicator 📄 3 lights up.
- Remove the steamed food and serve.
- Set the on/off switch 14 to ●.
- Disconnect the mains plug 10 from the socket-outlet.
- Disconnect the detachable mains cord 10 from the main unit 16.
- Keep warm
☐ Keep warm function can be used to keep the steamed food or cooked rice warm.
□ Activate the keep warm function by switching the cooking button 4 to up position. The yellow indicator 3 lights up.
i NOTES:
☐ When cooking rice, the product switches to keep warm mode automatically after rice is done. Cooked rice will be kept warm continuously until the product is switched off by the on/off switch 14 .
☐ When steaming food, keep warm function can be activated anytime by the cooking button.
● Cleaning and care
⚠️ DANGER! Risk of electric shock! Before cleaning: Always disconnect the product from the socket-outlet.
DANGER! Risk of burns! Do not clean the product right after operation. Let the product cool first.
⚠ WARNING! Do not immerse the main unit 16 in water or other liquids. Never hold the main unit under running water.
CAUTION! Do not clean the product or its accessories in the dishwasher.
NOTE: Clean the product right after it has cooled. Once the food residues have dried, they are not easy to remove.

Storage

☐ Put the spoon 8 into the spoon holder 17.
☐ Store the product in the original packaging when it is not in use.
☐ Store the product at a dry location out of the reach of children.
● Disposal
The packaging is made of environmentally friendly materials, which may be disposed of through your local recycling facilities.

Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste separation, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with following meaning: 1-7: plastics/20-22: paper and fibreboard/80-98: composite materials.

The product incl. accessories, manual and packaging materials are recyclable and are subject to extended producer responsibility.
Dispose them separately, following the illustrated Info-tri (sorting information), for better waste treatment.
The Triman logo is valid in France only.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your wornout product.

To help protect the environment, please dispose of the product properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the household waste. Information on collection points and their opening hours can be obtained from your local authority.
● Warranty
The product has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines and meticulously examined before delivery. In the event of material or manufacturing defects you have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our warranty detailed below.
The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Keep the original sales receipt in a safe location as this document is required as proof of purchase.
Any damage or defects already present at the time of purchase must be reported without delay after unpacking the product.
Should the product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it – at our choice – free of charge to you. The warranty period is not extended as a result of a claim being granted. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts.
This warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged, or used or maintained improperly.
The warranty covers material or manufacturing defects. This warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear and tear, thus considered consumables (e.g. batteries, rechargeable batteries, tubes, cartridges), nor damage to fragile parts, e.g. switches or glass parts.
● Warranty claim procedure
To ensure quick processing of your claim, observe the following instructions:
Make sure to have the original sales receipt and the item number (IAN 467227_2404) available as proof of purchase.
You can find the item number on the rating plate, an engraving on the product, on the front page of the instruction manual (bottom left), or as a sticker on the rear or bottom of the product.
If functional or other defects occur, contact the service department listed below either by telephone or by e-mail.
Once the product has been recorded as defective you can return it free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure to enclose the proof of purchase (sales receipt) and a short, written description outlining the details of the defect and when it occurred.
