How to tension the abrasive belt on the BS282 sander?

Press the tension handle, extend the extension rod to increase belt tension, lock the tie rod, then gently lift the tension handle. Make sure the belt is not too tight to avoid wear.

What is the maximum speed of the sander?

The no-load speed can reach 2800 rpm. However, during break-in (first uses), it is recommended not to exceed 70% of the maximum speed, i.e., about 1960 rpm.

Can I use the BS282 for wood?

Yes, the machine is suitable for wood, metal, and other materials. Use the abrasive belt appropriate for the material. Always wear a P2 dust mask to protect yourself from fine particles.

How to change the abrasive belt?

Unlock the tension handle to release tension, remove the old belt, place the new belt on the wheels, then tension it following the tensioning procedure. Manually rotate the belt a few turns before powering on.

What to do in case of sudden machine shutdown?

Completely cut off the power supply for more than 2 minutes then restart the machine. This resets the electronic protection.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This brand new Belt Grinder Machine is an ideal machine for stock removal, profiling, handles and finish work, satin or mirror finish. It is all steel construction and the all steel frame is welded at all joints, which makes this sander very solid with precise belt control. Besides, it runs smoothly and the tracking is very stable, and it will not make a lot of noise. The drive will convert 1 phase into 3 phase for greater control when doing detail work and reducing heat after blades are heat treated. This grinder has top of the line idler wheels, motor & drive.

You must abide by certain safety precautions when using the equipment. In order to prevent injuries and damages from occurring, you must always read through this operating manual carefully.

This manual must be kept in a safe place so that the information that it contains is always available. This operating manual must accompany the equipment if it is transferred to somebody else.

INSTALLATION METHOD

1. Place the device on a workbench or flat ground.

1. Install the guard and tension handle.

1. Loosen the handle on the support tube and insert the extension rod into the support tube.

1. Install the corresponding components:

a) Arc Grinding Wheel Assembly

i. Loosen the handle on the extension rod, install the axis of the arc grinding wheel bracket into the extension rod, and lock the handle;

ii. Select a 25mm or 40mm arc grinding wheel and install it into the arc grinding wheel bracket.

b) Round Grinding Wheel Assembly

i. Loosen the handle on the extension rod. Install the shaft of the round grinding wheel into the hole of the extension rod and lock the handle.

c) Flat Grinding Wheel Assembly

i. Loosen the handle on the extension rod, install the flat grinding wheel assembly onto the extension rod, and lock the handle. Install the flat grinding wheel handle and washers to the position shown in the diagram and lock it.

1. Install the table assembly to the extension rod and tighten the locking screws.
2. Press down on the tension handle, install the sand belt, adjust the length of the extension rod to the appropriate tension, and lock the extension rod handle.

1. Jog on when the machine is turned on so that it is easy to use. Adjust the position of the sand belt to prevent the sand belt from deviating or running out.

OPERATION

1. According to different types of grinding, the user can choose from three different grinding wheels. i. First, you need to insert the movable rod of the grinding wheel, hanging on the compression spring. ii. Second, you must pull the movable rod to its maximum length. iii. Finally, lock the handle and gently lift the pressure bar.
2. The user needs to manually turn the belt a few laps, then the power can be switched on. You can adjust the knob slightly to prevent the wheel from deviating.

Warning! Arc grinding wheels are not suitable for long-term high-speed operation.

COMMON PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

1. Sand belt mistracking: Generally, the tension is insufficient. Press down the tension handle, extend the extension rod to increase the belt tension, lock the tie rod, and gently lift the tension handle.
2. Sudden shutdown during use: Turn off the power completely for more than 2 minutes and then restart the power.
3. When the motor is overheated: If the motor heats up during use, this is a normal phenomenon. A temperature rise below 80 degrees Celsius has no effect on the motor. When the temperature rise of the motor exceeds 80 degrees Celsius, please stop for a period of time and continue to use the motor after it cools down.
4. Overload Speed Limiting: When overloaded, the speed of the machine will be reduced to prevent the circuit breaker from tripping. When the load returns to normal, the speed of the machine will be restored.

NOTES

1. The belt grinding machine belongs to high linear speed machinery. Pay attention to safety when using it. Do not touch the running abrasive belt with your hands, and wear protective glasses and masks when using it to avoid harm to the human body caused by dust.
2. This machine shall not be used for wet grinding. Water can easily enter the electrical control box, causing potential safety hazards such as leakage, and even burning the electronic control motherboard.
3. When using mechanical grinding and polishing, do not use too much force, as it is

easy to make the motor stall due to instantaneous deceleration, and it will also damage the abrasive belt, causing cracks to appear at the interface of the abrasive belt and even break and fly out to hurt people.

1. The machine must be reliably grounded to prevent electric shock.
2. Metal grinding is done after the belt is running.
3. The machine has a flat grinding wheel and a deviation adjustment wheel. The new bearings inside need to be run in. The new bearings will heat up. Do not run at high speed for a long time during the run-in period. You can drive at 70% of the maximum speed, generally for 1-2 months of running-in.
4. This machine has precision steel parts, which should be placed in a dry and ventilated place and should not be used in a humid environment.

PRECAUTIONS ON USING BELT GRINDER SANDER

Attention! You must abide by the following basic safety measures against electric shocks, injuries and the danger of fire when using electric tools. Read and follow these instructions before you start to use any tools. These instructions must be kept in a safe place.

-- The equipment must never be used in surroundings where an explosive atmosphere exists. Do not let the cable touch any parts of your body. -- Only use the extension cable approved for use in the working area. -- Do not force the machine for unsuitable work, for example, rough grinding etc. Otherwise, dangers and harms will be caused. -- Only use identical replacement parts when servicing. Otherwise, risk-free operation can't be guaranteed. -- The accessories' allowed speed must be at least the same as the maximum speed of the machine. Or else, they may be broken or cracked if running speed goes over the machine's allowed speed. -- Do not use damaged accessories. Before use, always check whether the accessories are nicked or cracked. For example, for grinding pad, please ensure the support plate is not cracked. Ensure everybody is out of the machine area and run the machine at max. speed for one minute, which can fully test the accessories. -- Clean the exhaust port on your machine regularly. When working, hold the machine firmly with both hands to ensure safe operation. -- We recommend that you always wear industrial safety gloves and safety

-- Wearing close-fitting clothes is mandatory. -- Always allow for reaction torque. -- Wear protection mask P2 to protect you from hazardous dusts and choose a vacuum cleaner.
