Is this filter suitable for a 100 L aquarium?

No, this FIN 50 model is designed for aquariums up to 50 litres. For a larger volume, choose an appropriate model.

How to clean the filter?

Unplug the device, disassemble it without tools by pulling the parts apart. Clean the elements with clean water and a soft brush. Do not use any chemicals.

How often should the filter elements be replaced?

Replace the filter foam and activated carbon when the flow rate noticeably decreases or every 2-3 months depending on fouling.

Can the filter be used outdoors?

No, the device is designed for indoor use only. It must not be exposed to weather.

What to do if the filter does not start?

Check that the power outlet is live. If the unit is blocked, clean it. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

Is the power cable replaceable?

No, the cable cannot be replaced. If the cable is damaged, the device must be discarded.

What is the maximum delivery head?

The maximum delivery head is 0.4 m. Beyond that, the flow rate may decrease.

Can other filter media be used besides those supplied?

To ensure performance and safety, use only genuine Eden parts.

Is the filter noisy?

The filter is designed to be quiet thanks to its low power of 5 W and submerged operation.

How to correctly install the filter?

Attach the filter to the aquarium glass using the suction cups. Form a drip loop on the cable to prevent water from following the cable to the outlet. Then plug into an outlet protected by a 30 mA RCD.

Electrical connection

• Only connect the unit if the electrical data of the unit and the power supply match.
• Only plug the unit into a correctly installed outlet.
• The device is to be supplied through a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA.
• Protect open plugs and sockets from moisture.

Safe operation

• Disconnect all electrical devices in the water from the power supply before reaching into the water. Otherwise there is a risk of severe injuries or death by electrocution.
• Do not use the unit, if electrical lines or the housing are damaged.
• The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged, the appliance should be scrapped.
• Never pull on electric cables. In particular, never carry units on their cables.
• Route lines in such a way that they are protected from damage and do not present a tripping hazard.
• Never run the unit without water.
• Do not use the unit together with chemicals, food, flammable, explosive substances or other liquids aside from water.
• This unit can be used by children aged 3 and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the unit in a safe way and they understand the hazards involved. Do not allow children to play with the unit. Only allow children to carry out cleaning and user maintenance under supervision.

• Only use original spare parts and accessories.
• Should problems occur, please contact the authorised customer service or EDEN.

Commissioning/start-up

- Switching on: Plug the power plug into the outlet.

– The unit switches on immediately.
- Lay the mains cable so that a drip loop is formed and the lowest point is below the socket. This prevents dripping water from entering the socket.
- Set the desired flow rate.

- Switching off: Pull the power plug from the outlet.

Maintenance and cleaning

NOTE

Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions. These agents can damage the housing, impair the function of the device and harm animals, plants and the environment.
