2. Safety instructions for the user

GENERAL

PRECAUTIONS

General precautions during the use of electrical equipment

• Do not use or store the appliance outdoors.
• This product is designed for indoor domestic, non-industrial and non-commercial use. Do not use the item outdoors or for any other purpose. Misuse or improper handling may cause problems with the appliance and may cause injury to the user.
• The unit must only be used for its intended purpose. No liability is accepted for damage resulting from improper use or incorrect handling.
• Make sure that the voltage indicated on the nameplate matches the mains voltage before plugging in the appliance.
• Always remove the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use. Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is switched on.
• It is necessary to supervise when any electrical appliance is being used by or near children.
• Before cleaning or storing your appliance, always unplug the appliance from the power supply and allow it to cool down.
• The device is not completely disconnected from the power supply, even after it has been switched off. To disconnect it completely, unplug it from the mains socket.
• The appliances are not designed to be operated by an external timer or a separate remote-control system.

Restrictions on use to avoid personal injury

• Do not leave the appliance unattended.
• Do not place or use this appliance near water sources.
• Do not place or use the appliance and its power cord on or near hot surfaces (e.g., hotplates) or open flames.
• Never use accessories not recommended by the manufacturer.
• The use of accessories not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
• To avoid electric shock, make sure your hands are dry before plugging or unplugging the appliance.
• Never immerse the appliance or the plug-in water or any other liquid. Should the appliance fall into water, disconnect it immediately from the

mains and take it to an authorised service centre for repair before using it again.

• Do not use the appliance if the cable or plug is damaged. In the event of damage to the cord, it must be replaced only by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid hazards.
• If the power lead is damaged, it must be replaced by a special or similar lead available from the supplier or after-sales department.
• In case of malfunction of the appliance, or if it has been damaged in any way, return the appliance to the nearest authorised service centre for examination, repair or adjustment

Restrictions for use with children and the elderly

• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) whose physical, sensory or mental capabilities are impaired, or by persons lacking experience or knowledge, unless they have had the benefit of prior supervision and instruction in using the device from a person responsible for their safety.
• Cleaning and maintenance of the user must not be carried out by children without supervision.
  • Children must not play with the appliance.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• This blanket is not to be used by young children, unless the controls have been set by a parent or guardian, or unless the child has been adequately instructed on how to operate the controls safely.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children under 8 years of age.
• Children under 3 years of age should be kept away from the appliance unless they are under constant supervision.
• Children from 3 to 8 years of age are allowed to operate the on/off button ONLY if the appliance is installed and ready for operation and the children have been supervised and instructed in safe operation of the appliance and they understand all associated risks.
• Children aged 3 to 8 years MUST NOT: insert the plug into the socket, make adjustment, clean the appliance or carry out user maintenance operations.

Instructions to be followed when using the device

• Only use your electric blanket with the cable and plug provided.
• Do not transport this appliance by carrying it by its power lead and do not use this lead as a handle.
• Do not bend the flex and do not use the blanket while it is creased, rolled or folded.
• Never use this appliance in a room where aerosol products (sprays) are used or in a room where oxygen is administered.
• In order to disconnect the blanket, switch the button to the « 0 » position, then remove the plug and unplug the connector from the heating blanket.
• For the first time. If the power lead seems damaged, do not use the blanket.
• This blanket must not be used by young children or people that are insensitive to heat.
• Do not expose your electric blanket to sunlight and do not iron it. In this way, you will avoid damaging the insulation of the electrical circuits.
• The appliance should not be used on an adjustable bed.
• Examine the appliance frequently for signs of wear or damage. If there are such signs or if the appliance has been misused, return it to the supplier before using it further.

Important Notes:

• Do not use the Blanket without unwinding the cord. It can cause product damage and personal injuries. Before using it unwind the cord completely and plug in.
• Do not turn on the in the switch while the blanket is folded, make sure to unfold the blanket completely before using it.
• Do not place the lead and controller beneath blanket, while in use. Doing so, will lead to overheating of blanket and controller, which can cause damages and personal injuries.
• In case of event of hanging cord, make sure to keep it await from the reach of small children.
• Make sure to turn off the switch of blanket, and controller to the position "0" before going to sleep.

5. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

USING THE ELECTRIC BLANKET

• Position the blanket flat on the bed. The end of the blanket without the controls is positioned at the foot of the bed.
• Place a sheet or thin cotton spread over the blanket so that you can feel the heat and know whether the blanket is creased or not.

Note: do not use the blanket folded or creased. Make sure to open it properly.

Adjusting the temperature:

- Start by connecting the plug or connector located on the side of the blanket and the other end to the electricity supply (AC220• 240V). Switch the button to «position 2» so that the heating blanket reaches the desired temperature more quickly. Leave it on for about 30 minutes before going to bed.

Note:

1. Make sure to unwind the cord before pugging in the blanket.
2. Do not place if beneath blanket, as it can cause overheating of plug and controller leading to product and personal injuries.

3. Do not let the cord hanging freely. Keep it out of reach of small children

4. When you want to go to bed, adjust the button to choose the temperature you want. You can adjust the temperature to 3 different levels.

5. We strongly recommend switching the blanket off by switching the button to «position 0» before going to sleep (the indicator light goes off).

Anti-mite Features: This blanket has special function features such as anti-mite. At the maximum temperature and with 2 hours of continuous operation, the blanket automatically enters into the anti-mite mode

Note: Remember to turn off the plug before going to sleep

6. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

When you are not using the heating blanket and before cleaning it, please follow the following instructions:

• Make sure the control is in «position 0».
• Disconnect the power supply.
• Disconnect the connector linking the control to the blanket.
• Leave the blanket to cool down before cleaning it. Small marks may be removed with a cloth or a damp sponge and, if required, using a little liquid detergent suitable for delicate textiles. Please note, your heating blanket should not be dry-cleaned, nor twisted, nor dried in a tumble dryer, nor calendared or ironed. If the blanket is very dirty, it can be washed in a washing machine. Set it to the 30°C programme for delicate fabrics. Use a washing product for delicate fabrics and use the amount stated by the manufacturer.

Note: Remember to detach the controller before machine wash. Also make sure to dry thoroughly the blanket leads before attaching the controller.

• Do not wash the blanket too frequently in order not to strain it excessively. The heating blanket must not be washed in a washing machine more than five times during its lifetime.
• To dry, do not hang it up using clothes pegs or similar items.
• Do not expose the heating blanket to sources of heat such as sunlight, radiators or other sources
• Only reconnect the power lead to the blanket when the connector and the blanket are completely dry.

WARNING: NEVER SWITCH THE ELECTRIC BLANKET ON TO DRY IT.

7. STORAGE

If you are not going to use the blanket for a long period, we recommend storing it in its original packaging in a dry place and that you do not place anything on top of it.

Before storing the electric blanket make sure to follow the following steps:

• Make sure the control is in «position 0».
• Disconnect the power supply.
• Disconnect the connector linking the control to the blanket.
• Leave the blanket to cool down completely before folding it.
• Fold and store the cable and plug carefully without damaging it and keep it in a protected place.
