Safety instructions for chargers
1) General safety instructions
a) Please read the attached safety instructions and operating instructions thoroughly before using the charger. Please keep all attached documents. These documents must be included when passing on the charger.
2) Intended use
a) The chargers are only suitable for charging CAS (cordless alliance system) battery packs. b) This device is not suitable for use by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capacity or with no experience and/or knowledge, unless where such persons are supervised by a person responsible for safety or have received instructions on how to use the device.
c) Never try to charge non-re-chargeable batteries. Risk of explosion! d) The user bears sole responsibility for any damage caused by improper use. e) Generally accepted accident prevention requirements and the supplied safety information must be observed. f) SC 30 is suitable for charging:
Li-ion battery packs (12–18 V, 1.3–10 Ah, 3–10 cells).
3) Special safety instructions
a) You must follow all text marked with this symbol to ensure your own protection and to protect your electrical device!
b) Danger of hazardous electrical voltage!
c) Slightly acidic, flammable fluid may leak from defective Li-ion battery packs! d) If battery fluid leaks out and comes into contact with your skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water. e) If battery fluid comes into contact with your eyes, wash them out with clean water and seek medical attention immediately! f) Do not recharge a fully charged battery pack!
g) Only for indoor use.
h) Protect your charger against moisture! i) Never allow children to use the device. j) Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device. k) Keep children away from the charger and/or work area! l) Store the charger in a place out of reach of children! m) Disconnect the power plug immediately if smoke or fire appears from the charger! n) Do not use a battery pack if it is defective!

5) Commissioning

a) Prior to putting the device into operation, check to ensure the mains voltage and mains frequency stated on the nameplate match the data of your power supply.
b) Devices such as this that generate direct current can easily affect fault-current circuit breakers. Use type F or better with a release current of max. 30 mA.
6) Self-test
a) Insert the power plug.
b) The warning indicator (4) and on indicator (3) will light up for approx. 1 second.
7) Use
a) Charging the battery pack:
Slide the battery pack all the way to the stop using the sliding seat (2).

The on indicator (3) will flash.
Note: To show the charging status for Li-ion battery packs, first remove the battery pack from the charger and push the button on the battery pack.
b) Trickle charging
Once charging is complete, the charger will automatically switch to trickle charging.
The battery pack can remain on the charger and is therefore always ready for use.

The on indicator (3) will stay illuminated.
8) Fault
a) The warning indicator (4) will stay illuminated

Battery pack is not charged. Temperature too high/low. If the battery pack temperature is between 0^ C and 50^ C, the charging process will begin automatically.
b) Warning indicator (4) flashes

Battery pack is defective. Remove the battery pack from the charger immediately.
Battery pack was not slid on the sliding seat (2) correctly. See Chapter 7.
9) Repair
a) Repairs on the charger may only be carried out by a qualified electrician! b) If the device's mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service team or a similarly qualified person to avoid any further damage.
c) If your Novus charger requires repair, please contact your Novus representative.
10) Environmental protection
a) Please follow the national regulations for the environmentally responsible disposal and recycling of decommissioned machines, packaging and accessories.

b) Only for EU countries:
Do not dispose of power tools with normal household waste! In accordance with European Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment and its implementation in national law, all used electrical equipment must be collected separately and sent for environmentally compliant recovery.
