How to insert staples into the magazine?

Open the magazine using the push stop or slide. Insert staples in the correct direction (points downward). Close the magazine until it clicks.

How to adjust the striking power?

Use the striking power adjustment knob located on the device. Turn it to adapt the force according to the material (soft wood, hard wood, etc.).

How to charge the Li-Ion battery?

Plug the charger into a mains socket (100-240 V AC) and connect it to the device. The charging LED indicates the status. Charging time is approximately 1 to 2 hours.

Which staples should be used with the J-214 Li-Ion?

Use only NOVUS original staples. Using other brands may cause jams or damage the device.

Does the device heat up after use?

Yes, after 30 minutes of use at 30 strokes/minute, let the device cool down. It is designed for short-time operation (S2, 30 min).

What to do in case of a staple jam?

Disconnect the device. Open the magazine, carefully remove the stuck staples with a screwdriver or pliers. Check for any damage.

How to clean the stapler?

Clean the device with a soft dry brush. Do not use chemicals. After about 1000 strokes, lubricate the staple outlet with a drop of light oil.

What are the important safety precautions?

Wear safety glasses and hearing protection. Never aim at people or animals. Keep out of reach of children. Protect the device from water and moisture.

Does the stapler work on mains power?

No, it is a cordless model powered by a rechargeable Li-Ion battery. The supplied charger allows recharging from a mains socket.

1.2 Intended use

This device is used for fastening cardboard, insulation material, textiles, foils, leather, wood and similar non-brittle materials to wood or wood-like surfaces. Make sure the workpiece is appropriate in size.

This device must only be used for the purpose intended by the manufacturer.

1.3 Safety pre warnings

This device has been manufactured and tested in accordance with the applicable code of practice. It left the factory in safe and proper working order. To maintain this condition and ensure safe operation, the user must follow the precautions and warnings given in the operating instructions.

• This device is not intended for industrial use.
- This device is not a toy and must be kept out of children's reach.
- The device must always be checked for proper working order before it is used.
- If it is to be assumed that safe use is no longer possible, the device must be taken out of operation and prevented from being used inadvertently.
- Do not pull on the power cord or use it for carrying the device. The device must not be operated if the power cord is damaged.
- Manipulations, such as the removal or blockage of parts on the device, are not permissible and will result in the warranty becoming null and void.
- Before switching on, make sure the power source does not exceed the permissible values given in the technical specifications.
- Do not aim the device at yourself, other persons or animals.
• Only use genuine NOVUS fasteners.
- Tips and edges of fasteners being inserted in the magazine, not driven all the way in or becoming jammed in the magazine after a malfunction can cause injury.
- As the tacker is only rated for short-time duty, it should be allowed to cool down after 30 minutes when fired at a rate of 20 shots/min. in single-stroke mode, and after 4 min. when used in multiple-stroke mode.
- Protect from moisture and wetness.
