These operating instructions convey important safety tips and information necessary to operate the device correctly! In order to prevent damage due to improper use, the operating instructions should be observed and kept safe as well as passed on to any subsequent owners!

All safety notes are for your personal safety!

DANGER! Danger to life from electric shock!

There is danger to life in case of contact with live cables or components! Hence, please observe the following safety instructions:

• Ensure that the voltage specification (V) on the type plate of the charging station resp. of the device matches the mains voltage!
• Only connect the charging station an the device to alternating current.
• Do not pull the power cable over sharp edges, trap it or allow it to hang down. The power cable should be protected from heat and moisture. Never put down/place the device, the charging station and power cables on hot surfaces such as hobs, or similar. Do not allow it close to naked flames!

- Aways switch the device off after use!

- Only insert the plug into the socket when the device is switched off!

- Never wrap the power cord around the device!

• Always remove the plug when you clean the device, in the event of faults, or when the device is not in use!
- Before use check that the device functions properly! The device should not be used if:
- the connecting cable is damaged
- the device shows noticeable damage
- the device has been dropped

DANGER! Danger to life from electric shock! There is danger

to life if the live device comes in contact with water! Hence, please observe the following safety instructions:

- DANGER: The device an the charger must never be used near water, in the bath or shower, over a wash-basin containing water or with wet hands. It must never be immersed in water!

- When the device is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the device is switched off.

- Do not pull the plug out of the socket by pulling on the cable or when your hands are wet!

- The device must NOT be cleaned under running water!

- The charging station, charging plug and power plug must be in a proper working condition before each use.

- The contacts on the charging station* contacts must never be touched.

- The charging station and the device must be protected from heat and moisture.

- The charging station must only be used for charging the designated device.

- The charging station and device must remain unopened.

- As additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) with a measured residual current of no more than 30mA is recommended in the bathroom power circuit.

CAUTION!

Please observe the following safety instructions to avoid damages and risks attributable to improper use:

- Animal clipper, hair clipper and devices for manicure and pedicure can be used by children aged from 3 years under supervision. Shaver, wet shaver, animal clipper, hair clipper and devices for manicure and pedicure can be used by children aged form 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

• This device is not a toy.
- Do not use the cable for carrying the device.

- Protect the device against climatic influences such as damp or direct sunlight. The device is not approved for use outdoors.

• Thedevice is not suitable for cleaning in a dishwasher!
• Don't use other than the provided accessories.
  • In case of defective device or charger never attempt to repair the device yourself, as inappropriate repairs may result in considerable hazards for the user.
• The device must only be connected to the adapter ZD5C050100EUE included in the delivery for charging the battery.

WARNING! Risk of injury due to damaged components!

- Do not use the device if the blade is damaged.

WARNING! Risk of injury caused by sharp blade!

• Never reach into the blade while the device is in operation.
• Never put the clippers down while the motor is still running. If you stop work for a moment, switch off the clippers.

WARNING! Health hazard due to sliding oil!

- Store the filled oil bottle out of the reach of children. Do not swallow! Avoid contact with eyes! Discharge before disposal!

RISK OF SUFFOCATION!

- Packaging materials, for example, plastic bags must be kept away from children.

Intended use

The device is intended solely for cutting and styling human hair. Any other type of use is not permitted. When used for an alternative purpose, operated incorrectly or when unprofessional repairs are carried out, there is no liability for any damages caused. The guarantee services also do not apply in such instances!

Charging the device for battery operation

- When the appliance is delivered it is not yet ready to operate. The appliance should be charged for 3.0 hours before being used for the first time. The indicator light on the device signals that there is contact between the machine and charging station or that the power cable is plugged into the device. (see Fig. 1 – 3).

NOTE! When the battery is empty you can still continue to use the device by connecting the power cable directly to the device (see Fig. 3). This also charges the battery.

How to extend your battery life

• Before initial use, fully charge battery. Please ensure that the charging procedure is performed at room temperature. This is the only way to ensure a long battery life.
• Charger and battery can heat up during charging. This is normal and not a sign of a technical defect.
• The supplied Lithium-Ion battery can be charged at any time, regardless of charge state.

Start-up and application

WARNING! Risk of injury caused by sharp blade! Never reach into the blade while the device is being operated.

• Switch on the device with the on/off switch (see fig. 4).
• Adjust the cutting length from approx. 0.9 mm to approx. 1.2 mm using the mechanical cutting length adjustment (see Fig. 5).

- Depending on the thickness of your hair, vary the speed of the cutting plates between 5,000 and 7,000 rpm in 3 levels using the +/- keys (see Fig. 6).

NOTE! Regardless of hair thickness / volume, the set speed remains the same due to the intelligent constant speed adjustment!

by 1.5 mm 3.0 mm, 6.0 mm, 9.0 mm or 12.0 mm respectively with the help of the 5 comb attachments (the cutting lengths are indicated of the combs). To assemble, slide the comb on the cutting head until it locks into the desired position (see Fig. 7). Please note that you should work slowly and very accurately when using the comb in order to achieve the required cut quality.

WARNING! Risk of injury caused by sharp blade!

You can hurt the person whose hair is being cut if you operate the device incorrectly, for example in

the ear area. To avoid injuries, cut with one edge of the cutting unit only. Ensure that the teeth of the cutting unit do not cut ears. Push the outer ear rim slightly away from the head.

Cleaning and maintenance

DANGER! Danger to life from electric shock!

There is danger to life in case of contact with live cables or components! Hence, please observe the following safety instructions:

• Before cleaning, disconnect the device from the mains an switch off the device.
• Never immerse the device in water.
• Wipe your device occasionally using a damp cloth and then rub dry. Always keep the electrical charge contacts clean.
• Clean the blades with the brush provided after every use.
• Oil the clipper blades at least once a day at the exact points described in Fig. 10 - to do this, you have to click off the cutting head (see "Detach the cutting head for thorough cleaning"). Just 1 drop per lubricating point. After lubrication, briefly switch on the appliance to spread the oil.

NOTE! Never use any other products for maintenance: This oil has been specially developed for hair clippers and designed to not vapourise or slow down the blades. If the cutting performance deteriorates after a certain period of use despite regular care, it is time to replace the clipper blades. These are obtainable from your stock.

Detach the cutting head for thorough cleaning

• Remove the cutting plate as shown in figures 8.
• Remove the hair cut thoroughly with a brush 9.
• Attach the cutting plate again as shown in 11. Do not use force. The cutter edge must clearly lock into place.

Battery disposal

As consumer you are required by law to dispose of used batteries and charger as hazardous waste.

Information on how to remove the battery when the device reaches the end of its service life can be found in figures 12 to 15. The device must be disposed of and NOT used again after removing the battery.

Caution! Risk of injury from defective, leaking battery!

The applied battery contains substances that can result in injuries when getting in contact with skin or when inhaled. Should your device have a drained battery, you must use rubber gloves to remove it from the device and properly dispose of it in a closed container. According to the European Directive 2013/56/EU, faulty batteries must be collected separately and reused or recycled in an environmentally friendly manner.

Disposal possibilities are as follows:

• by dealer
• at a GRS recycling centre
  – in special waste containers provided by the communities Obtain additional disposal information from your community or city.

Waste from electrical device at the end of their service life

Do not dispose of electrical devices with domestic waste! In accordance with European Directive 2012/19 / EU on old electrical and electronic devices and its implementation in the national law, electrical tools that are no longer suitable for use must be separately collected and sent for recycling in an environmentally sound manner. Recycling alternative for the return request:

Alternatively, the owner of an electric or electronic device is obligated to cooperate in proper recycling in the event of a property task instead of returning. Old equipment can also be 0ed in the national recycling and waste management laws.

This does not apply to the accessories and aids included in old equipment, which do not contain electrical components.

Warranty period

TONDEO grants the legal warranty to all electrical device components not liable to wear and tear in all EU Member States for all its electrical devices. In non-EU states, please ask your specialist dealer. Not included in the warranty are damages that can be attributed to regular wear and tear cutting blades and batteries) as well as damages attributable to improper use of the device.
