1 Models

These operating instructions relate to various models. The functions and operation are virtually identical. You can find out which model you have from the identification plate. Further information can be found in the Technical Data (last page).

In night mode the fan is at slow speed for 10 hours. The status display counts down the remaining time.

After 10 hours have passed, the appliance resumes dehumidifying at the fast fan speed.

Night mode is reset when the appliance is switched off or the mains plug is disconnected from the mains.

RH	Room sensor faulty	Check wiring. Sensor faulty.
PMP	Pump in optional pump kit is not pumping.	Check pump for dirt. Is a hose connected? Is the hose too long or kinked? Is the pump faulty?
Temperature	Room temperature below 1°C or above 35°C	The appliance will start up again automatically when the room temperature is between 5°C and 30°C.

5 About these operating instructions

These operating instructions must not be reproduced, duplicated or distributed without the written consent of the manufacturer.

Important: Read carefully before use. Keep for later reference.

6 Product description

The dehumidifier regulates the air humidity in the room and is suitable for use on building sites, in warehouses and in residential buildings. Any condensate water produced is either collected in a water tank (model AD 935/AD 935 S/AD 955) or pumped away by a built-in pump (model AD 975/AD 955). Models AD 935, AD 935 S and AD 955 can also be ordered with an optional pump set to pump the water away. The dehumidifier has an automatic defrost function.

7 Safety

Intended use and conditions of use

The dehumidifier is used to remove humidity from air where there is atmospheric pressure in closed indoor rooms, such as basements, garages or warehouses.

The dehumidifier must only be used and stored in rooms larger than 4 m^2 .

The dehumidifier must only be used in compliance with the technical data (see last page).

Persons with physical, sensory or mental restrictions and children are not permitted to use the dehumidifier.

The appliance must only be operated with a socket fused with an RCCB.

Every user must have read and understood the operating instructions.

Foreseeable misuse

The dehumidifier must not be used:

• In rooms with potentially explosive atmospheres.
• In rooms with an aggressive atmosphere (e.g. caused by chemicals).
• In rooms with water with a pH value below 7.0 or above 7.4.
• In rooms with salt or liquids with a salt content > 1 %, e.g. brine baths.
• In wet areas of indoor swimming pools.
• In rooms with ozone-treated air, high solvent concentrations or high dust pollution.

General safety information

WARNING! Electrocution!

Working on live components or water on live components can cause life-threatening electrocution.

Avoid contact between water and live components.
Before moving the dehumidifier, switch it off at the on/off switch, disconnect the mains plug from the socket and empty the condensate tank. If the appliance has a pump, manually pump out any liquid before transport.
- Only allow the manufacturer or authorised personnel to carry out work on electric components.

WARNING! Risk of explosion, burns and poisoning from refrigerants!

The appliance contains an odourless, flammable refrigerant which, if handled incorrectly, could result in explosions and fire as well as injuries and burns. The refrigerant circuit is pressurised.

Do not use any objects to accelerate the thawing process.

Do not store the dehumidifier in rooms with permanent sources of ignition, such as open flames, operational gas appliances or electric heaters.
Do not drill open or ignite dehumidifiers.
Only operate the appliance in an adequately ventilated room larger than 4 m².
- Any work to the refrigerant circuit must be performed by the manufacturer or the manufacturer's authorised technical personnel. Before working on the refrigerant circuit, it must be depressurised using the designated mechanisms.
- Observe the national regulations for gas installations.
Do not dump refrigerants or dispose of them as household waste.
- Avoid coming into contact with the refrigerant.

8 Unpacking

Procedure

1. Check that the package contents are complete. Contact your stockist in the event of damage or missing contents.

2. Remove the packaging and dispose of it in accordance with local regulations.

9 Transport and installation

Transport

CAUTION! Crushing or ergonomic damage when transporting the dehumidifier!

Ideally transport the dehumidifier in an upright position.
- Transport the dehumidifier by the pull-out handle.
- Two people must carry the dehumidifier if necessary.

Procedure

1. Make sure that the condensate water is drained away or that the water tank is empty.
2. Make sure that the appliance is switched off and the mains cable has been disconnected.
3. Transport the dehumidifier to where it is going to be used.
4. Position the dehumidifier on a stable, even surface.
5. Secure the dehumidifier so that it does not tip over or slip.

NOTE: The air must circulate freely. Do not cover the air openings. There must be a clearance of at least 1 m in front of the air outlet and air intake area.

Installation

WARNING! Loss of stability!

Loss of stability or uncontrolled movements may result in serious injuries and material damage.

Always secure the dehumidifiers so that they do not fall over.
Always position the dehumidifier on as stable and even a surface as possible.
- Avoid use on ramps or slopes. If necessary, secure against tipping over and slipping using suitable means.
Do not use if the castors or feet are faulty.

Procedure

1. Install the dehumidifier in an upright position.
2. Secure the dehumidifiers so that they do not fall over.

AD 975/AD 995: Connecting the drain hose

With the AD 975 / AD 995 it is essential to connect the drain hose provided.

ATTENTION! Inadequate appliance output!

Do not place the end of the hose in the water (backwater possible).
Do not bend the drain hose.
Do not place any objects on the hose.

Procedure

1. Attach the drain hose to the appliance's discharge nozzle (item 1) and secure with the hose clamp.

1. Run the drain hose away from the dehumidifier to a drain or into a suitable container (maximum height difference: 3 m).

AD935/AD 935S/AD 955: Connecting an optional drain hose

If necessary, a drain hose can be used instead of the water tank in the appliances AD 935/AD 935 S/AD955. To do this, proceed as follows:

ATTENTION! Inadequate appliance output!

Do not place the end of the hose in the water (backwater possible).
Do not bend the drain hose.
Do not place any objects on the hose.

Procedure

1. Remove the water tank.

1. Attach a drain hose to the discharge nozzle using a pipe clip.

2. Make sure that the end of the hose is lower than the start of the hose at the discharge nozzle. Minimum slope of 5% (5 cm/metre).

3. Run the end of the hose into a drain or a suitable container.

AD 935 S: Connecting the duct connector

Model AD 935 S offers the option of channelling the air outside via the duct connectors.

Procedure

1. Attach the exhaust hose (or dry air hose) ∅100 maximum 3m long to the pipe nozzle (item 1) with a clamp. NOTE: The hose or the pipe nozzle must not be sealed.

1. Install the exhaust hose out through the building.

OR:

Place the dry air hose at the surfaces or cavities to be dehumidified.

Make sure that no back pressure develops.

Electrical connection

Procedure

1. Make sure that the supply voltage is the same as the connection voltage in the technical data.
2. Provide an adequate fuse for the socket and the power supply.
3. Make sure that the mains plug is suitable for the socket of the building.

4. Make sure that the socket used is earthed.

5. Plug the mains plug into the socket.

10 Operation

Dehumidifying the room

NOTE: Allow the dehumidifier to rest in its final position for approx. 15 minutes before starting up, after transport and after prolonged storage.

Procedure

1. WARNING! Electrocution and risk of injury!

If the drain hose is not correctly connected, water in or in front of the housing can cause electric shock or present a slip hazard. Make sure that the condensate water can drain away via the drain hose and that the drain hose is securely positioned on the discharge nozzle.

1. Set the on/off switch to "I".

The dehumidifier will start operating. The dehumidifier runs continuously at the values most recently set.

AD935/AD 935 S/AD 955:

Emptying the water tank

When the water tank is full, the dehumidifier automatically switches off and the following symbol appears on the display:

Procedure

1. Remove the water tank.

1. Empty the water tank.

2. Put the water tank back in position.

The appliance automatically starts operating again.

Switching off

Procedure

1. Set the on/off switch to "0".

11 Maintenance and care

WARNING! Damage to health from dust!

• Only clean the dehumidifier with compressed air in open spaces.
• Wear a protective mask and goggles.

ATTENTION! Damage to property!

• Cleaning agents can damage surfaces. Only use mild detergents.
• Only use approved original spare parts.

Cleaning and inspection

WARNING! Electrocution

Working on live components or water on live components can cause life-threatening electrocution.

Only allow the manufacturer or authorised personnel to carry out work on electric components.
Before working on electrical components, switch off the dehumidifier, disconnect the mains plug and secure the dehumidifier against being switched back on again.

CAUTION! Hot surfaces

Coming into contact with hot surfaces can result in minor injuries or burns.

• Only allow the manufacturer or authorised personnel to carry out work on the refrigeration circuit and its components.
  → Work must only be carried out on components when they have cooled down.

Procedure

1. Empty the water tank if necessary.
2. Switch off the dehumidifier.
3. Unplug the mains plug.
4. Remove and clean the air filter (e.g. with vacuum cleaner) or replace it.
5. Check the discharge nozzle and drain hose, if connected.
6. Insert a new or clean filter. Only use an original filter.
7. Plug in the mains cable.
8. Switch on the dehumidifier if necessary.

Spare parts and customer service

If you have any questions about the de-humidifier or require spare parts, contact your authorised dealer or the service department.

12 Troubleshooting

Please check the following points in the event of a fault. If necessary contact the service department.

WARNING! Electrocution

Working on live components or water on live components can cause life-threatening electrocution.

• Only allow the manufacturer or authorised personnel to carry out work on electric components.
  Before working on electrical components, switch off the dehumidifier, disconnect the mains plug and

secure the dehumidifier against being switched back on again.

CAUTION! Hot surfaces

Coming into contact with hot surfaces can result in minor injuries or burns.

- Only allow the manufacturer or authorised personnel to carry out work on the refrigeration circuit and its components.

. Allow any hot components to cool sufficiently before working on them.

WARNING! Intoxication and burns from refrigerants

• Only allow the manufacturer or authorised personnel to carry out maintenance work.
  In the event of malfunctions, switch off the dehumidifier and secure it so that it cannot be switched back on again.
• Allow any hot components to cool sufficiently before working on them.

Faults

Problem	Possible cause	Remedial action
The dehumidifier is not performing well/removing moisture.	Air intake area is dirty/blocked. The dehumidifier is not getting enough air. If the air intake area is dirty, the appliance can suffer long term damage.	Remove any dirt/objects from the air intake area.
The dehumidifier is out of operation/fan and compressor are not working.	Dehumidifier is switched off.	Switch on the dehumidifier.
	There is no power supply to the dehumidifier.	Check the power supply, plug in the mains cable if necessary.
Room sensor faulty.	Sensor faulty.	Check the wiring and replace if necessary
Pump in optional pump kit is not pumping.	Pump is dirty or faulty.Hose is too long or kinked.	Check pump for dirt or fault, and replace if necessary.Check the hose and replace if necessary.
Room temperature is below 1°C or above 35°C.	Room temperature is too low or too high.	Set room temperature between 5°C and 30°C. The appliance will start automatically as soon as the temperature has been set.

13 Decommissioning, storage and disposal

Decommissioning

Procedure

1. Switch off the dehumidifier.
2. Unplug the mains plug.
3. Cover the dehumidifier with a cloth to protect it from dust.

Storage

CAUTION! Injury!

Do not stack AD 975 / AD 995.
Secure the dehumidifiers so that they do not fall over.

Procedure

1. Store the dehumidifier between 1 °C and +40 °C. Do not store the pump below freezing point.

Disposal

ATTENTION! Risk from materials and substances!

Sort materials according to type and recycle in accordance with local regulations.
When disposing of auxiliary and operating materials, observe the local regulations and information on the safety data sheets.

Do not dispose of the de-humidifier as household waste but rather in accordance with the legal regulations.
