Intended use

The fan is designed exclusively for the ventilation of dry rooms.

It is intended for private use only and is not suitable for commercial use.

Use the fan only as described in this instruction manual.

1. Only use this appliance in accordance with the guidelines in the operating instructions. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer could result in fire, electric shock or personal injury.

2. Remove the packaging and make sure that the unit is not damaged. If in doubt, do not use the unit and contact the service centre or your dealer.

3. Keep children away from packaging materials. There is a ____ danger of choking if swallowed!

4. If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorised service centre in order to avoid all possible risks.

5. Before connecting the appliance to the mains, check that the type of current and mains voltage correspond to the specifications on the appliance type plate.

6. The electrical socket in which you connect the unit must not be defective or loose and must be suitable for the required current load and, above all, reliably earthed.

7. Avoid using an extension cord as it could overheat and cause a fire.

8. It is forbidden to adapt or modify the characteristics of this appliance in any way and use only spare parts and accessories recommended by the manufacturer (failure to do so will invalidate the guarantee and warranty).

9. If the unit has a defect, switch it off and contact your dealer or the customer hotline.

2. Children under the age of 8 and persons with reduced physical, mental, sensory or spiritual capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge should not use this appliance unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

3. Do not operate the unit unattended. If you leave the room, always switch off the unit.

4. Children must not play with the appliance.

5. Do not twist or bend the mains cable.

6. Do not use the appliance with wet hands.

7. Do not use the unit outdoors.

8. Never operate the unit in rooms where gas, oil or sulphur are present.

9. Do not use the unit near water or high humidity, e.g. in damp basements, next to swimming pools, bathtubs or showers. Make sure that no water enters the unit.

1. Do not pull on the mains cable to disconnect the appliance from the mains power. Always pull on the plug to unplug the mains cable.
2. Do not handle the plug with wet hands to avoid electric shock.
3. Unplug the appliance when you are not using it, before cleaning it, when it needs maintenance or when it is moved from one place to another.
4. Keep the unit in good condition by maintaining and cleaning the unit. If you have any questions about maintenance, you can contact the customer hotline/service centre authorised by the manufacturer.
5. Keep and store the appliance in a safe, dry place out of reach of children when not in use.

Technical information

If the fan has to be stored for a long time and is not used regularly, place the fan in its original packaging in a dry place. When using it for the first time after a long period of inactivity, make sure that the fan is clean and the motor blades are unrestricted (unit not powered).

Structure and installation

For use as a stand fan:

Remove the parts from the packaging. Place the fan base on the floor. Insert the lower column with the adapter into the base and fix it by turning the lower column clockwise.

Loosen the height adjustment screw and pull the adjustable column to the desired height. Then tighten the height adjustment screw.

Place the upper column on the adjustable column. Tighten the column adjustment screw.

For use as a table fan:

Place the fan base on the table, insert the adapter into the base and secure it by turning the adapter clockwise.

Place the upper column on the adapter. Tighten the upper column adjustment screw.

Assembling rotor blade and grid

Fastening and aligning
Turn the front grille
Locked

BE COOL

Remove the plastic cover on the motor axle and discard it. Position the rear grille against the front of the motor housing through the motor axle. Make sure that the handle on the back of the grille is facing upwards and that all the guide cams on the motor housing are aligned with the recesses on the rear grille.

Secure the rear grille with the plastic nut. Firmly attach the plastic nut to the motor housing by tightening it clockwise.

Install the fan blades on the motor axle with the recesses. Place the spinner on the motor axle behind the fan blades. Secure it by tightening the spinner anti-clockwise.

Place the front grille against the rear grille by aligning the alignment mark on top of the grilles. Lock them together using the hooks on the front grille and the slots on the rear grille. Carefully pull out the snap-lock bolt and turn the front grille clockwise to lock it. The snap-lock bolt should enter.

Note: To remove the front grille, carefully pull out the snap-lock bolt and turn the front grille anti-clockwise.

Tighten the locking screw to secure the snap-lock bolt.

Operating the fan

This fan has 4 speed settings, 3 breeze modes, a timer and a remote control. The buttons on the fan's control panel work the same as those on the remote control.

Timer button

This button is used to set the timer in steps of 1 hour to a maximum of 8 hours. When the set time has elapsed, the fan switches off automatically.

Example 1: 1H means that the timer stops after 60 minutes.

Example 2: 2H means that the timer stops after 2 hours.

Mode button

Pressing this button switches the fan from one breeze mode to another.

• This indicator shows that the fan is operating in natural breeze mode and cycles through all speeds.
• This indicator light shows that the fan is simulating a gentler breeze mode (SLEEP MODE) by using a low speed, ideal for resting.

BE COOL

• and If none of the above indicators are lit, the fan is operating in NORMAL mode.

"Mosquito repellent" button

Pressing this button activates the "mosquito repellent" function. If you press it again, this function is stopped.

The light on this symbol indicates that the mosquito repellent function is active.

Pressing this button again stops this function.

Speed button

Press this button to switch the fan to 4 different comfort speeds

(High/Medium/Low/ECO). This button can be used with any function.

These symbols indicate the selected speed ECO, low, medium, high.

Oscillation button

To activate the oscillation function, press this button once.

The oscillation indicator lights up when it is activated. Press the button again to deactivate this function. The oscillation can be controlled while the fan is operating.

On/Off switch

Use this button to switch the fan on and off.

Note: This fan has 3 functions that allow you to personalise your comfort and improve the air circulation in the room:

Oscillation:

To activate the oscillation function, press the key. To deactivate the oscillation function, press again. The oscillation can be controlled while the fan is operating.

Inclination:

To tilt the fan head so that the airflow is aligned, switch off the fan and hold the fan motor housing with one hand and the fan grille with the other. Gently tilt the fan head until the desired angle is reached. Be careful not to tilt the head back further than expected as this may damage the unit.

Important: The fan must be switched off before you tilt the fan head.

Height adjustment:

To adjust the height of the fan, switch off the fan, tighten between the upper column section and the adjustable column section and loosen the height adjustment lock nut. Lengthen or shorten the adjustable column section to increase or decrease the height of the fan. Once the fan is at the desired height, tighten the height adjustment lock nut.

To convert the fan into a stand fan, please follow the assembly instructions.

Important: The fan must be switched off before you adjust the height.

Use of the mosquito repellent:

- Open the mosquito repellent, point the spigot at the heating ring of the vaporiser, insert the bottle and tighten.

- When the mosquito repellent is empty, please replace it.

- Caution: If you come into contact with the mosquito repellent when using it, wash your hands immediately.

Preparing the remote control - Inserting or replacing the battery

Please follow the instructions below:

Initial operation:

To operate the remote control for the first time, please pull out the plastic protector from the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.

Change battery:

Pull out the battery holder on the back of the remote control and remove the old battery from the holder:

Now insert a new CR2025 battery, always paying attention to the polarity markings (+/-) on the battery and the battery holder.

Then push the battery holder fully back into the remote control.

Care and cleaning

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Always switch off the appliance before cleaning and always disconnect the mains plug from the socket.

• DO NOT immerse the unit in water or spray it with other liquids.
• DO NOT use solvents or other chemical products for cleaning. Store the fan in a dry place when not in use.
• When you stop using the fan at the end of the season, wipe off the dust to keep it in good condition for the next season. If necessary, dismantle the grille and remove the fan; clean it with a soft, damp cloth.

With this quality product from BE COOL, you have made a decision for innovation, durability and reliability.

For this BECOOL appliance we grant a guarantee period of 2 years from the date of purchase, valid in Austria! If, contrary to expectations, service work should nevertheless be necessary on your appliance during this period, we hereby guarantee to repair it free of charge (spare parts and labour) or (at the discretion of Schuss) to exchange the product. Should neither repair nor exchange be possible for economic reasons, we reserve the right to issue a current value credit note.

In the case of air conditioners, please contact the customer hotline as a first step (see sticker on the unit or cover page of the operating instructions), in the case of fans, please contact your specialist dealer or us directly. We would like to point out that repair work that has not been carried out by the authorised contract workshop in Austria will immediately terminate the validity of this warranty.

This warranty does not cover:

• We do not accept any liability for consequential damage in the event of improper use.
• Repair or replacement of parts due to normal wear and tear
• Damage due to non-observance of the operating instructions
• Devices that are used - even only partially - for commercial purposes
• equipment mechanically damaged by external influence (fall, impact, breakage, improper use, etc.) as well as wear and tear of an aesthetic nature.
• Equipment that has been improperly handled
• Units that have not been opened by our authorised service workshop.
• Damage caused as a result of improperly closed condensation drain valves of air conditioners or improperly inserted water tank.
• Consumer expectations not met.
• Damage caused by force majeure, water, lightning, overvoltage.
• Units where the type designation and/or serial number on the unit has been changed, deleted, made illegible or removed.
• Services outside our authorised workshops, the transport costs to an authorised workshop or to us and back, and the associated risks.

We expressly point out that within the warranty period, a lump sum of € 60,- (indexed basis CPI 2010, June 2015) will be charged in case of operating errors or if no error was detected.

The provision of warranty service (repair or replacement of the appliance) does not extend the absolute warranty period of 2 years from the date of purchase.

The 2-year warranty is only valid on presentation of the purchase receipt (must contain the name and address of the dealer as well as the complete designation of the unit) and the corresponding warranty certificate, on which the type of unit as well as the serial number (visible on the box and on the back or bottom of the unit) must be noted! Without the guarantee certificate, only the legal guarantee applies!

We expressly point out that the statutory warranty rights are not affected by this guarantee and continue undiminished.

Schuss Home Electronic GmbH and its vicarious agents shall only be liable for damages in the event of gross negligence or intent. Liability for loss of profit, expected but not realised savings, consequential damage and damage from third party claims is excluded in any case.

Damages to or for recorded data are always excluded from the liability for damages.
