Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of the Box, IGGI's new companion. This steam disinfecting accessory is an extension of the Laurastar Hygienic Steamer IGGI. Together they epitomise Swiss technology and design. Please read this instruction manual carefully before using the device for the first time, as well as the safety instructions, and retain this instruction manual for future use.

WARNING: Your Laurastar™ product releases heat and steam. As a result, certain elements can become very hot and cause burns while in use. Very hot elements are indicated with this symbol.

WARNING: Failure to comply with this instruction manual/these safety instructions may cause the device to become dangerous. The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage to property or personal injury resulting from failure to comply with these safety instructions. Retain this instruction manual for anyone using the device.

PLEASE NOTE: The Box is an accessory for the Laurastar hygienic steamer IGGI. For proper use and instructions, please refer to the user manual enclosed with IGGI.

READ THE ENTIRE INSTRUCTION MANUAL BEFORE USING THE PRODUCT.

Using steam requires basic precautions that should always be followed, including the following:

• This product is intended to be used in households and similar settings such as: (IEC 60335-2-15)
• staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments
  • by clients in hotels, motels and other residential-type environments
  • bed and breakfast-type environments
• Care should be taken when using the product due to the presence of steam.
• Injury can result from misuse of the product.
• The object is subject to residual heat after use.

- Contact with steam under pressure or heated element can result in severe burns.

• Do not use on heat- or water-sensitive materials. It is recommended to check the use and care instructions from the manufacturer.
• Never use the product and steam on people, animals or electrical appliances of any kind.
• Do not leave the product unattended when in contact with an electrical appliance that is connected to the mains supply or while still hot.
• This product can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning

safe use of the product and understand the hazards.

CAUTION: Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play

with the appliance.

• Keep the product out of reach of children when it is connected to a live appliance or cooling down.
• Cleaning and user maintenance should not be carried out by children without supervision.
• The product should not be used in areas where there is a danger of explosions or in the presence of toxic substances.
• Never use the product to disinfect items containing hazardous substances (e.g. asbestos).
• The product must be placed on a stable surface.
• The electrical appliance used with the product has to be unplugged after use and before carrying out user maintenance on the product.
• The product is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if it is leaking.
• Do not try to repair the product by yourself. Contact an authorized Laurastar Customer Service representative for information on repair.

Please do not dispose with household refuse.

ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION AND WASTE DISPOSAL MEASURES

Keep the original box in which your product was packed in a safe place for future use (transport, servicing, etc.). DO NOT dispose of the used product with normal household waste! Ask your municipal or local authorities about appropriate environmentally friendly disposal facilities.

With over 40 years of expertise in high-quality steaming systems, Laurastar has developed the unique and natural Dry Microfine Steam (DMS) with the power to disinfect materials.

Laurastar hygienic steam is so powerful that less than 20 seconds are needed to disinfect your material.

According to tests carried out by independent scientific laboratories with the ISO 17025 standard, IGGI and the Box kills the following without any chemical products:

Laurastar DMS is a natural steam ensuring complete and even disinfection without using any chemical substances.

What can be treated with the Steam Sterilising Box?

TIP: Make sure your item(s) and hands are washed and clean.

PLEASE NOTE: Multiple items can be placed inside the Box at the same time.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of suggested items that IGGI and the Box can — and cannot — disinfect:

DISINFECTION WITH THE BOX

• Put the Box and IGGI on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface (A).
• Fill IGGI with distilled or demineralised water only and switch it on (B).

NOTE: The Steam Sterilising Box has been designed for use with distilled or demineralised water.

• Open the Box and place the grid (9) properly in the compartment (1) (C).
• Place the items to be disinfected into the compartment (1) (D).
• Carefully close the cover (6) of the Box by placing the strap (2) on the extraction hole (7) (E). Unlock IGGI's spray nozzle (F).
• Insert its nozzle into the pairing socket (5) of the Box (G).

NOTE: Never use additives (e.g. scented water), water containing chemicals or water collected from the tumble dryer, as these products will interfere with the proper functioning of your IGGI.

DANGER! KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. DO NOT DRINK the water after it has been inside IGGI.

• Once the Box and IGGI have been paired, press the steam button on IGGI to activate the steam. Activate the steam continuously for 20 seconds (H).
• Remove the Box by pressing the grip (4). Lock the spray nozzle to avoid an unwanted burst of steam (I).
• Remove the strap (2) by lifting the handling ring (3) (J).
• Take off the cover (6) using the Box's grip (4). Leave items in the Box to dry naturally in a clean area (K).

CAUTION: Items can be hot.

PLEASE NOTE: ALWAYS remove the Box from IGGI after use. Eventual residual odours do not mean that the DMS hygienic steam has not succeeded in disinfecting.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING: Before any maintenance, UNPLUG IGGI, SWITCH IT OFF and LEAVE IT TO COOL DOWN for at least 30 minutes.

• After use, allow to air dry to avoid the proliferation of new bacterial germs.
- Store the Box in a dry, dust-free place, preferably away from light.

PLEASE NOTE: The Box has been designed using components selected for their robustness and intrinsic quality. The colour of some plastic parts may change over time without affecting the quality of disinfection.

PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS

Before calling Laurastar's Customer Service, please check the following points:

Symptom Probable cause Solution

My product has developed limescale and/or is spitting out limescale particles.	The water being used is unsuitable.	Only use distilled or demineralised water not softened or tap water.
The sides are becoming dirty.	These are condensation marks that appear during use.	Wipe the inside of The Box with a clean soft cloth after each use.
Pairing with IGGI can be difficult.		Apply the required pressure when inserting the IGGI nozzle.
Steam escapes when IGGI is activated.	The handle is not closed properly.	Lift the handle to the top.
