How to install the Envirobaby seat with the vehicle's seat belt?

Place the handle in position A1, pull the three-point seat belt, buckle it, then guide the lap belt into the hooks (D) and the diagonal belt into the rear hook (F). Push the seat down to tighten the belt as much as possible.

Can I use the Envirobaby seat with the AXKID ENVIROBASE base?

Yes, the seat is compatible with the AXKID ENVIROBASE base. Refer to the base manual for installation. Ensure the support leg is properly locked and the indicator is green.

How to adjust the harness height for my child?

Pull the height adjustment button (R) outward, slide the support (Q) up or down, then release the button to lock it. The height should be just above the child's shoulders.

When should I remove the newborn insert?

The insert is recommended for children from 0 to about 3 months. When your child reaches 3 months, remove the insert for a better fit.

Can the Envirobaby seat be installed on the front passenger seat?

Yes, only if the vehicle has no active airbag or the airbag is deactivated. Check the vehicle manual. Note: in Spain, it is forbidden to transport children under 135 cm on the front seat.

How to clean the seat cover?

The cover can be removed and machine washed at 30°C on delicate cycle. Do not tumble dry. Plastic parts are cleaned with mild detergent and water.

What to do in case of an accident, even a minor one?

The seat must be replaced immediately, as invisible damage could compromise safety. Axkid advises against buying second-hand seats.

How to use the ASIP side protection?

Pull the ASIP (H) on the door side until it locks. This protection reduces impact in the event of a side collision.

Can the seat be used on a side-facing or rear-facing car seat?

No, the Envirobaby seat can only be installed rear-facing on forward-facing seats. It is forbidden to use it on side-facing or rear-facing seats.

How to recycle my Envirobaby seat?

Cut the straps, remove the cover, separate the polystyrene, metal, and plastic parts if possible. Mark the seat as 'expired' and take it to a local recycling center.

Read this instruction manual before installing AXKID ENVIROBABY car seat in your vehicle. For more information and installation videos visit www.axkid.com.

AXKID ENVIROBABY is an infant rear-facing car seat approved for children with a height between 40-75cm with a maximum weight of 13kg.

This is an i-Size Enhanced Child Restraint System. It is approved according to UN Regulation No. 129, for use in, i-Size compatible vehicle seating positions as indicated by vehicle manufacturers in the vehicle user's manual. If in doubt, consult either the Enhanced Child Restraint System manufacturer (www.axkid.com) or the retailer.

Important information

To maximize your child's safety, it is important that you keep the following in mind:

• Always follow the instructions in this manual. An incorrect installation may seriously affect the safety for your child. If in doubt, contact your retailer who can demonstrate a correct installation.

- Keep this instruction manual for future reference. If manual is lost, you can find it online at www.axkid.com

- Do not use AXKID ENVIROBABY and compatible base in a seating position where an active frontal airbag is fitted. If you still wish to install the Axkid infant car seat in this location the airbag must be switched off according to the vehicle manufacturers instructions.

- Should you have an accident, no matter how small, your child car seat should always be replaced. It may have damage that is non visible and could seriously affect the safety of your child. For this reason, Axkid does not recommend purchasing second hand car seats.

• If AXKID ENVIROBABY has been exposed to direct sunlight, make sure that the car seat is not too hot before installing your child.

- Never leave your child unattended in the vehicle.

- Ensure that any luggage or loose objects are secured in your vehicle as they may cause injuries to passengers in the event of an accident.

• Ensure that the AXKID ENVIROBABY is installed in a way where no parts become trapped by movable seats, car doors, etc.

- AXKID ENVIROBABY may only be installed rear-facing.

• Always make sure that the harness is adjusted to correctly fit your child's body. The harness is adjusted by moving the belt height carrier using the belt height adjustment knob.

- Make sure that the child's back is pushed against the infant car seat when restraining you child with the harness.

• Always make sure that the harness is firmly tightened against your child and that the buckle is completely locked. You should not be able to pinch the straps.

- Make sure there is no twist in the harness.

- If using AXKID ENVIROBABY with the compatible AXKID ENVIROBASE, always make sure the support leg is in its correct position and have contact with the vehicle floor. Check that the indicator on top of the support leg is green and that you don't hear any beeping sound from the support leg foot.

- Do not attempt to disassemble nor modify any part of AXKID ENVIROBABY. The warranty and and the safety performance of the AXKID ENVIROBABY could be affected if doing so.

- Never use AXKID ENVIROBABY without the seat textile cover. The textile cover is a safety feature and may only be replaced with an original seat textile cover.

• Read the vehicle handbook and the vehicle list at www.axkid.com to find which seating positions are suitable for this car seat.

- Axkid recommends to always use a seat protection to protect your vehicle seat from scratches and dirt.

• If you have any doubts, contact the retailer where the base and compatible car seat was purchased or contact [e-mail].

Buckle your child in the seat and adjust to fit

Put the infant car seat on a flat surface. Create slack on the belt by using the harness adjustment button (L) and pulling the shoulder belt (O) at the same time until it is fully pulled out. Open the belt buckle (M) and fold away the harness (O).

Axkid recommends using the baby insert (J) if your child is approximately between 0-3 months to ensure an appropriate fit. When your child is approximately 3 months old, remove the insert.

Place your child in the infant car seat. Make sure there are no blankets or thick clothing between the child and the back of the infant car seat.

Place the shoulder belts over your child's shoulders, as close to the neck as possible.

Lock the harness (O) by pushing the two connectors together and then insert them into the belt buckle (M).

Check the belt position in relation to the child. The belt position should be just above the child's shoulders. Check this regularly as your child grows. If needed, adjust the belt position according to step 7.

Pull the belt height adjustment knob (R) outwards, slide the belt carrier (Q) up or down and release the knob in the position best suitable for your child. Make sure the belt height adjustment knob springs back into a locked position.

Pull the belt adjustment strap (K) to tighten the harness (O).

There should be approximately 1 cm of space between the child's shoulders and the belt.

IMPORTANT

• When tightening the harness, it is important that you have the infant car seat on a flat surface. The child's position could be very different if the infant car seat is angled which may cause the harness to be insufficiently tightened.
  • Make sure the belt is not twisted in any way.

Adjusting the handle

To adjust the handle (A), press both handle adjustments buttons (I) simultaneously and at the same time, push the handle in the direction of intended movement. The handle has three different positions (A1, A2 and A3) with different purposes:

A1

This position shall be used when carrying the child or when mounting the infant car seat in the vehicle.

A2

This position shall be used when using the infant car seat as a cradle or when mounted in a compatible stroller.

A3

This position blocks the cradle function and can be used when you want the cradle function disabled, for example when feeding your child.

WARNING: The handle is an important safety feature and must always be in position A1 when Envirobaby is used in a vehicle.

Allowed and disallowed positioning of the AXKID ENVIROBABY

The AXKID ENVIROBABY can only be used rear-facing on any forward-facing passenger seat which has a three-point seat belt (i) approved to UN/ECE regulation number 16 or other equivalent standard, as long as there is no active airbag in place. The infant car seat cannot be used with a two-point lap belt (ii).

The AXKID ENVIROBABY can also be used rear-facing together with the AXKID ENVIROBASE. It is approved for use in all i-Size approved seating positions but may also fit in other non-i-Size approved ISOFIX seating positions. Check your vehicle instruction manual to find suitable seating positions and check the vehicle list on www.axkid.com.

* ISOFIX connection points are required for installation together with AXKID ENVIROBASE.

IMPORTANT: If you wish to install your Axkid car seat in a location where a frontal airbag is fitted, the airbag must be disconnected according to your vehicle manufacturer instruction. Note that some vehicles require an authorized service center to disconnect the airbag.

** The General Regulation of Traffic in Spain, in its article 117, establishes the prohibition of driving with children of stature equal to or less than 135 centimetres located in the front seats of the vehicle, without exceptions.

Never install a child restraint in a passenger seat where an active airbag is fitted.

Installation in the car

AXKID ENVIROBABY can be installed in the car together with the AXKID ENVIROBASE or with belt installation with a three-point belt, see Allowed and disallowed positioning of the AXKID ENVIROBABY.

AXKID ENVIROBASE installation

To use AXKID ENVIROBABY together with AXKID ENVIROBASE, see the manual for AXKID ENVIROBASE for full instructions of installation.

• To install AXKID ENVIROBABY on AXKID ENVIROBASE: Pull the seat release handle (E) until it locks into its extended position (see F6). Place the car seat in position on top of the AXKID ENVIROBASE and push the car seat down into the AXKID ENVIROBASE until the seat release handle (E) clicks into locked position and the set attachment indicator shows green. The beige attachment hooks (C) should now have attached to the car seat in both front and rear.
• Ensure that the AXKID ENVIROBABY is not in contact with any adjacent vehicle seat and that the support leg is firmly clamped to the floor and that the support leg installation buzzer (O) has stopped buzzing.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that the handle is in position A1.

Belt installation

Start by placing the infant car seat in the correct vehicle seat position.

Adjust the handle of the infant car seat to position A1.

Pull out sufficient length of vehicle seat belt (T, U) around the infant car seat and buckle the vehicle belt (S).

Guide the vehicle's lap belt (T) through the belt guiding hooks (D) on the infant car seat and tighten the lap belt.

Pull the vehicle's shoulder belt (U) around the seat and fix it in the belt guiding hook (F) on the rear of the infant car seat.

Push down the infant car seat in the vehicle's seat and then pull the belt as tight as you can to make sure that the infant car seat gets the most fixed position possible. Make sure there is sufficient space between the infant car seat and the car seat behind it.

Axkid has equipped the AXKID ENVIROBABY with a side impact protection system, ASIP (Axkid Side Impact Protection). Pull the ASIP (H) towards the door of the car until it locks in its outer position.

IMPORTANT: Do not use any other vehicle seat belt routing then described in this manual. It could lead to the infant car seat not being properly fastened which can lead to serious injuries in the event of an accident.

Care and maintenance

• The seat cover can be removed and washed in a washing machine at 30^ on the "Gentle Cycle" program. Do not put the cover in a dryer as this can damage the cover and the padding may separate from the fabric. Visit www.axkid.com to find videos explaining how to remove and attach the cover.
• Any plastic parts of AXKID ENVIROBABY can be cleaned with mild detergent and water. Do not use aggressive chemicals containing solvents etc, as this can cause damage to the plastic and compromise the safety of the baby car seat.
• All materials used in the AXKID ENVIROBABY are recyclable and should be recycled as per your local legislation. Ask your local recycling center for advice when recycling this product.
• Do not make any modifications or alterations to the AXKID ENVIROBABY other than those described in this instruction manual. Follow the instructions in this manual carefully. Any repairs must be carried out by the manufacturer or agent.
  • If the seat cover needs replacing, ensure only original products from Axkid are used. If other products are used, the AXKID ENVIROBABY's safety system may be compromised and could lead to severe injury in case of an accident.

Recycling your car seat

Axkid strongly recommends recycling of old car seats. Before leaving the seat at your local recycling station cut off the harness straps from the seat, remove the textile cover, remove as many styrofoam parts as possible, separate metal and plastic parts if possible. The main part of the seat should be marked unsafe or expired (use a marker) to deter anyone from using it again. Please check your local municipal guidelines for recycling instructions for the different materials.

Warranty

The AXKID ENVIROBABY is covered by a 24-month warranty from date of purchase. Ensure you save your receipt and bring it to your place of purchase if you have any warranty issues.

The warranty does not cover:

• Normal wear and tear
• Damage due to incorrect use, neglect or accident
  • If repairs have been carried out by a third party
• All materials used have a very high UV-resistance rating. However, UV-light is very aggressive and will ultimately lead to fading of the seat cover. This is not covered by our warranty as it is considered normal wear and tear.
