The reducer of the Axkid Movekid car seat is a booster cushion provided for young children. According to Axkid's recommendations, you should remove it when your child reaches 106 cm in height, which generally corresponds to an age of about 3 years. From 106 cm onwards, your child can use the seat in child configuration without the reducer.

However, Axkid recommends using the reducer until it becomes too tight for your child. If you notice that the cushion excessively compresses your child or that there is a lack of space, it is the right time to remove it, even if your child has not reached 106 cm. The comfort of the child takes precedence over the indicative age.

To remove the reducer, simply lift it gently out of the seat. The reducer is not fixed with connectors: it is a simple removable cushion that you can take out or put back in as needed.

Once the reducer is removed, the Movekid automatically adapts to your larger child's morphology. The seat retains all its safety systems (5-point harness, vehicle seatbelt, support leg) which remain active and effective for children from 106 to 125 cm.

After removing the reducer, check that the harness is positioned correctly at your child's shoulders (or a maximum of 1 cm above) and that the seat is properly adjusted before each trip. This is also an opportunity to ensure that the deployed support leg remains in contact with the vehicle floor.
