Baby car seat for children weighing up to 13kg
Instruction manual
Important information
Read this instruction manual before installing the Axkid Modukid Infant in your vehicle. For more information and installation videos visit www.axkid.com.
Thank you for choosing an Axkid product. Our team has over 30 years combined experience within child safety, and we have done our utmost to make the Axkid Modukid Infant as safe as possible. The Axkid Modukid Infant is approved according to UN Regulation no 129/02. To maximize your child's safety, it is important that you keep the following in mind:
Read this instruction manual carefully before installing the Axkid Modukid Infant. If in doubt, contact your retailer who can demonstrate a correct installation. An incorrect installation could endanger your child..
Do not use a baby car seat in a seating position where an active airbag is fitted. If you still wish to install the Axkid Modukid Infant in this location the airbag must be switched off according to the vehicle manufacturers instructions.
Extensive research has shown that the risk of serious injury is five times greater for a young child when travelling in a forward-facing car seat compared to a rear-facing car seat.
Should you have an accident, no matter how small, your baby car seat should always be replaced. It may have damage that is undetectable and could seriously jeopardize your child's safety. For this reason, Axkid does not recommend purchasing second hand car seats.
Never leave your child unattended in the car.
Ensure any luggage or loose objects are secured in your vehicle as they may cause injuries to passengers in the event of a collision.
Keep this instruction manual for future reference.
Ensure that the baby car seat is installed in a way where no parts become trapped by movable seats, car doors, etc.
The Axkid Modukid Infant is suitable for use from newborn up to when the child can sit steadily, approximately six to nine months of age.
Never use the baby car seat without its textile cover.
This baby car seat may ONLY be installed rear-facing.

Adjusting the handle
To adjust the handle (A):
- Push both the handle adjustment buttons (I) located close to the handle's rotation point.
- At the same time, push the handle in the direction of intended movement.
- The handle has three different positions (P1, P2, P3).

This position shall be used when carrying the child or when mounting the baby car seat in the vehicle.

This position shall be used when using the baby car seat as a cradle or when mounted in a compatible stroller.

This position blocks the cradle function and can be used when you want the cradle function disabled, for example when feeding your child.
Adjusting the baby car seat to fit your child
1 Check the belt position in relation to the child. The belt position should be just above the child's shoulders. Check this regularly as your child grows. If needed, adjust the belt position according to steps 2-7.
2 Create slack on the belt by using the harness adjustment button (M) and pulling the shoulder Belt (P) at the same time.
3 Open the harness by pushing the belt buckle button (N) and separating the two connectors.
4 Open the shoulder pads (O) and pull out the belt with connectors and the shoulder pad strap through the belt openings (V).
5 If needed, add the baby insert and cushion (J, K). We recommend using the insert and cushions if your child is approximately between 0-3 months to ensure an appropriate fit.
Now you can put the shoulder belts and shoulder pad strap in a different opening (V) that better suits your child's height. To reach the highest belt position, flip open the ASIP bar cover (G).
Close the shoulder pads (O) around belts and attach the connectors into the belt buckle (N). Make sure that the belts are not twisted.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that the belts are not twisted.
Buckle your child in the seat
8 Put the baby car seat on a flat surface. Hold down the belt adjustment button (M) and at the same time pull the shoulder section of the harness (P) until it is fully pulled out. Fold away the harness (P) so that they will be easy to reach after you have placed your child in the baby car seat. Place your child in the baby car seat. Make sure there are no blankets or thick clothing between the child and the back of the baby car seat.
9 Place the shoulder belts over your child's shoulders, as close to the neck as possible.
10 Lock the harness (P) by pushing the two connectors together and then insert them into the belt buckle (N).
11 Pull the belt adjustment strap (L) to tighten the harness (P).
12 There should be approximately 1 cm of space between the child's shoulders and the belt.
IMPORTANT:
When tightening the harness, it is important that you have the baby car seat on a flat surface. The child's position could be very different if the baby car seat is angled which may cause the harness to be insufficiently tightened.
Make sure that the belt is not twisted in any way.
Do not use any other belt routing than described in this manual.
Allowed and disallowed positioning of the baby car seat
The Axkid Modukid Infant can be used on any forward-facing passenger seat which has a three-point seat belt (i) approved to UN/ECE regulation number 16 or other equivalent standard, as long as there is no active airbag in place. The baby car seat cannot be used with a two-point lap belt (ii). The Axkid Modukid Infant can also be used together with the Axkid Modukid Base on any forward-facing passenger seat which has ISOFIX connection points.
IMPORTANT: If you wish to install your Axkid Modukid Infant in a location where an airbag is fitted, then the airbag must be disconnected at an authorized service center. Some vehicles may be equipped with a switch which allows you to manually switch the airbag off. It is important to always check if the vehicle's indicator light shows that the airbag is turned off.
WARNING: Never use on a seat with an active airbag
WARNING: Never use on rearward or side facing vehicle seats
WARNING: Air bags are designed for adults and can seriously harm your child in a crash

Belt installation
15 Make sure that there is space between the baby car seat and the interior of the car.
16 Start by placing the baby car seat in the correct vehicle seat position, according to (13).
17 Adjust the handle of the baby car seat to position P1.
18 Pull out sufficient length of vehicle seat belt (T, U) around the baby car seat and buckle the belt (S).
19 Guide the vehicle's lap belt (T) through the hooks (N) on the baby car seat.
20 Pull the vehicle's shoulder belt (U) around the seat and fix it in the hooks on the rear side (J) of the baby car seat.
21 Push down the baby car seat in the vehicle's seat and then pull the belt as tight as you can to make sure that the baby car seat gets the most fixed position possible.
22 Axkid has equipped the Axkid Modukid Infant with a side impact protection system, ASIP (Axkid Side Impact Protection). Pull the ASIP (H) towards the door of the car until it locks in its outer position.
IMPORTANT: Do not use any other vehicle seat belt routing then described in this manual. If so you are facing a risk of the baby car seat not being properly fastened which can lead to serious injuries.
Care and maintenance
The seat cover can be removed and washed in a washing machine at 30^ C on the “Gentle Cycle” program. Do not put the cover in a dryer as this can damage the cover and the padding may separate from the fabric. Visit www.axkid.com to find videos explaining how to remove and attach the cover.
Any plastic parts of Axkid Modukid Infant can be cleaned with mild detergent and water. Do not use aggressive chemicals containing solvents etc, as this can cause damage to the plastic and compromise the safety of the baby car seat.
All materials used in the Axkid Modukid Infant are recyclable and should be recycled as per your local legislation. Ask your local recycling center for advice when recycling this product.
Do not make any modifications or alterations to the Axkid Modukid Infant other than those described in this instruction manual. Follow the instructions in this manual carefully. Any repairs must be carried out by the manufacturer or agent.
If the seat cover needs replacing, ensure only original products from Axkid are used. If other products are used, the Axkid Modukid Infant's safety system may be compromised and could lead to severe injury in case of an accident.
Warranty
The Axkid Modukid Infant is covered by a 24-month warranty from date of purchase. Ensure you save your receipt and bring it to your place of purchase if you have any warranty issues.
The warranty does not cover:
Normal wear and tear
Damage due to incorrect use, neglect or accident
If repairs have been carried out by a third party
All materials used have a very high UV-resistance rating. However, UV-light is very aggressive and will ultimately lead to fading of the seat cover. This is not covered by our warranty as it is considered normal wear and tear.
