USER MANUAL AL 9.6 Alpha Tools

1. The replaceable NC battery pack for the cordless

air pump is not charged when delivered. The battery pack has to be charged before you use the tool for the first time.

2. Charge the battery pack with the charger

supplied. An empty battery pack requires a maximum charging period of 5 hours. Do not use the supplied charger to charge other items of equipment.

3. The battery pack does not reach its maximum

capacitance until it has been charged and discharged approximately five times.

4. NC battery packs lose their charge even when

they are not being used. Regular charging is therefore recommended.

5. Please check the data marked on the rating plate

of the battery charger. Be sure to connect the battery charger to a power supply with the voltage marked on the rating plate.

6. In heavy use the battery pack will become warm.

Allow the battery pack to cool to room temperature before commencing with the charging.

7. Always check the actual air pressure of the

object before you start to pump it up.

tighten the union nut securely.

11. Do not unscrew the union nut during use.

12. Activate the transport brace when not in use.

13. Always use the pressure hose for difficult to

access positions. To do this, unscrew the union nut, attach the pressure hose by inserting with a twisting movement and retighten the union nut.

14. The cordless air pump can generate up to 9 bar

of air pressure. In order to avoid bursting the object you are filling, always comply with the instructions for that object.

15. Never exceed the specified air pressure!

Bursting objects can cause serious injury.

does not draw in any dust or contaminants.

20. Do not use the cordless air pump to fill high-

pressure tires, such as those on heavy duty trucks, tractors and trailers.

compressor to cool down for approximately 10 minutes each time between filling each object. The maximum operation time of the unit is 10 minutes. Do not exceed this limit!

Please ask your local authority if you do not know where the nearest collection point is.

7. Avoid contact with a leaking battery pack. In

8. Protect the battery charger and its cable from

damage and sharp edges. Have damaged cables repaired without delay by a qualified electrician.

9. Check your tool for damage. Repairs may only

be carried out by a qualified electrician.

10. Make sure that the contacts of the battery pack

do not come into contact with other metallic objects such as nails or screws. There is a risk of short-circuiting! Areas of application This device is intended solely for pumping up vehicle tires, bicycle tires and blow-up leisure, sports and beach articles. It is not suitable for large-volume articles (e.g. rubber dinghies, large airbeds). It is not intended for industrial use. Starting up: Charging the NC battery pack

1. Before you remove or insert the battery, activate

the transport brace (Pos. 3). To do this, slide the slide button for the transport brace to the left (lock is closed). Remove the battery pack (Pos.

6) from the handle, pressing the pushlock

buttons (A) at the side to do so.

2. Check that your mains voltage is the same as

that marked on the rating plate of the battery charger. Plug the battery charger (Pos. 11) in the plug socket and connect the charging cable to the charging adapter (Pos. 12). The green LED will illuminate to show that the mains power is connected to the charging adapter.

3. Plug the battery pack (Pos. 6) in the charging

adapter (Pos. 12). The green LED and the red LED will illuminate simultaneously and the battery will start charging. An empty battery pack requires a maximum charging period of 5 hours. The temperature of the battery pack may rise slightly during the charging operation. This is normal. Important! It does not switch off automatically when fully charged! If the battery pack fails to charge, please check whether there is voltage at the socket-outlet whether there is good contact at the charging contacts of the battery station (pos. 12) If the battery pack still fails to charge, please send the battery charger and charging adapter the battery pack to our customer services department. To ensure that the NC battery pack provides long service, you should take care to recharge it promptly. You must recharge the battery pack when you notice that the power of the cordless air pump drops. Never fully discharge the battery pack. This will cause it to develop a defect! ON/OFF switch Insert the charged battery in the handle until it locks into place. Deactivate the transport brace (Pos. 3). To do this, slide the slide button to its position on the right (lock is open). Switch the device on and off with the ON/OFF switch (Pos. 4). Important! A force of over 60N exerted on the ON/OFF switch may cause the device to switch on in spite of the transport brace! Pumping up: Important! The in-built pressure manometer is not calibrated. After you have pumped up a tire, therefore, you will have to check the air pressure using a calibrated air gauge. Pumping up vehicle tires Attach the cordless air pump to the valve either directly or with the pressure hose (Pos. 7). Pumping up bicycle tires To pump up bicycle tires with conventional valves, screw the adapter (Pos. 8) onto the valve. Attach the cordless air pump to the adapter or screw the pressure hose onto the adapter, then pump up the bicycle tire. For bicycles with car valves, attach the cordless air pump to the valve either directly or with the pressure hose (Pos. 7). Pumping up other objects To pump up leisure, sports and beach articles, use the ball adapter (Pos. 9) or airbed adapter (Pos. 10).
