Total vibration values (vector sum of three directions) determined in accordance with EN 61029.
Grinding
Vibration emission value a_h < 2.5 m/s^2 K uncertainty = 1.5 m/s²
The specified vibration value was established in accordance with a standardized testing method. It may change according to how the electric equipment is used and may exceed the specified value in exceptional circumstances.
The specified vibration value can be used to compare the equipment with other electric power tools.
The specified vibration value can be used for initial assessment of a harmful effect.
Keep the noise emissions and vibrations to a minimum.
Only use appliances which are in perfect working order.
Service and clean the appliance regularly.

Residual risks
Even if you use this electric power tool in accordance with instructions, certain residual risks cannot be rules out. The following hazards may arise in connection with the equipment's construction and layout:
- Lung damage if no suitable protective dust mask is used.
- Damage to hearing if no suitable ear protection is used.
5. Before starting the equipment
Before you connect the equipment to the mains supply make sure that the data on the rating plate are identical to the mains data.
Warning!
Always pull the power plug before making adjustments to the equipment.
Assembly (Fig. 2-9)
- Place the guide bar for the chain (5) in the mount (Fig. 3) and secure from underneath with the locking screw (Fig. 4)
- Thread the tensioning cable (Fig. 5/Item A) into the guide bar for the chain.
- Screw the chain locking screw (6) onto the tensioning cable.
Before starting the chain sharpener, fasten it securely to a suitable surface (e.g. a workbench) at a suitable place (protected against dust, dry, well-lit) using M8 fastening screws and washers.
Make sure when doing so that the mounting plate of the chain sharpener is pushed onto the surface as far as it will go (Fig. 7).
GB
6. Operation
Important! Always switch the appliance off and unplug the power plug before making any adjustments.
6.1 Inserting the chain you want to sharpen into the guide bar (Fig. 10)
Do this by undoing the chain locking screw (6).
6.2 Setting the grinding angle according to the specifications for your chain (Fig. 10) (normally between 30 - 35^ )
- Undo the locking screw for setting the grinding angle (4).
- Set the desired grinding angle using the scale (3).
Re-tighten the fastening screw (4).
6.3 Setting the chain stopper (Fig. 10)
- Swing the chain stopper (1) onto the chain.
Pull the chain backwards against the chain stopper (1) until the stopper stops a cutting link (Fig. 16/Item B). Important. You must make sure that the angle of the stopped cutting link coincides with the grinding angle. If it does not, pull the chain one link further. - Swing down the grinding head (10) until the grinding wheel (8) touches the chain link you want to ground. (To do so, you can move the chain back and forth a little using the setting screw of the chain stopper (2)).
6.4 Setting the depth limit (Fig. 11)
- Swing down the grinding head (10) and set the grinding depth with the setting screw (7). I important. The grinding depth should be set so that the full cutting edge of the cutting link is sharpened.
6.5 Locking the chain (Fig. 11/12)
- Swing down the grinding head as far as it will go and tighten the chain locking screw (6) until the chain no longer slips.
6.6 Grinding the chain link (Fig. 10/15) Important.
Use the equipment only for sharpening saw chains. Never grind or cut other materials.
Make sure that the chain is clamped securely in the guide bar when the grinding head is swung down. If this is not the case, tighten the chain locking screw (6) a little.
- Slowly guide the grinding wheel to the saw
blade. If the grinding wheel approaches the saw chain too quickly or jerkily, this may cause damage to the grinding wheel. Injuries may result from parts being catapulted out.
- Switch on the equipment with the On/Off switch (9).
- Carefully move the grinding wheel (8) with the grinding head (10) against the set link.
- Switch off the equipment with the On/Off switch (9). Every second link in the chain must be sharpened in this way. When you swing up the grinding head, the chain will be released again by the Bowden cable mechanism. The two adjustment screws must be used to move the next cutting link into position. To know when every second link in the entire chain has been sharpened, mark the first link (e.g. with chalk). Once all the cutting links on one side have been sharpened, the grinding angle must be set to the same number of degrees on the other side. You can then begin to sharpen the links of the other side without having to make any further adjustments).
6.7 Adjusting the depth limiter spacing (Fig. 16/17)
Once the chain has been fully sharpened, you must make sure that the depth limiter spacing is correct (the depth limiters (C) must be lower than the cutting links (B)). You may need to fi le the depth limiters (C) to the specifi cations for your chain using a fi le (D) (not included in delivery). To re-file the depth limits, fit the chain to your chain saw.
