Thank you for purchasing Motus product. Please read this user manual care- fully before use of this product. The Package Contains: 1 × Electric Scooter Motus Scooty (8,5) 1 × Battery Charger and Power Cord (No Converter Needed) 1 × User Manual
There are risks riding or driving every vehicle. This one is no exception. Re- member when you learned to ride a bike? You probably started in a safe lo- cation and had somebody help you learn. You started slowly. This technique applies to ours as well. If you carefully follow all the instructions and warnings in this manual, you should be able to teach yourself to ride. Please ensure this manual is read and understood and do pay extra attention when riding. ATTENTION! Before commencing driving, the battery should be charged for at least 12 hours. If the battery is low, as displayed on the battery indicator, placed on the screen, driving is not allowed. This may stop operating and cause you to fall. Check local laws and regulations to see where and how you may use yours legally. Follow all applicable laws for vehicles and pedestrians. Avoid obstacles and slippery surfaces, which could result in loss of balance or traction and cause a fall. Do not exceed the maximum weight of 220 pounds (100 kilograms)-includ- ing backpacks and other items that might be carried. Exceeding the weight limit could injure the rider and damage it. Young children should not ride them. Use your judgment about whether a rider has the necessary coordination, strength and maturity to use. Only chil- dren 16 years old or older should be permitted to use. Do not lift it off the ground when it is turned on. Do not turn on in mid-air. This will cause the wheels to spin freely, which could result in injury to yourself or damage to things around you. Do not modify it. Modications could interfere with operating and could re- sult in serious injury and/or damage. Modications avoid its limited warranty. Never operate any vehicle, including this one, while under the inuence of drugs, alcohol or other intoxicants. This product is a consumer product, so commercial use is not covered by the warranty. 3.2 Charging the Battery
The packaging included a built-in lithium-ion battery. For the rst time, you must fully charge the battery. Be sure to charge the battery in a clean, dry location. Plug one end of the power cord into it. Plug the other end into a grounded AC outlet. Do not disconnect the charger until the battery has been fully loaded. Ones the charging is done, remember to close the lid. Avoid completely discharging the batteries, it is better to charge them while there is still power in them. It is forbidden to disassemble the battery compartment. Only its manipula- tion in Ofcial Technical Service of producer.
3.3 Your Weight Must Be over 45 kg
In order to guarantee your children’s safety, everyone who drives must be over 45kg in weight. If the driver’s weight is lower than 45kg, the vehicle may work improperly.
Battery level is displayed in the place, marked with the letter C in the Drawing 1B. Sustained range will decrease during winter, because the battery perfor- mance decreases quickly in cold conditions. In -15°, for example, battery per- formance is only about half in comparison to that in room temperature. To ensure battery life during the winter, it must be charged and unloaded at least once a month.
WARNING: It will notify you when the battery level is critically low by slowing
down and shaking the wheels when you are riding it, if these warnings occur, immediately slow down and safely step off. Turn the unit off. Do not attempt to ride again until the battery is recharged.
When you want to start your rst ride, please try to wear comfortable casual or sports outt and wear at shoes. Please bring it to a more spacious place, and ensure that there aren’t any signicant obstacles. It is advisable to wear a safety gear to insure risk against accidents. BRAKE ADJUSTMENT JIf you feel the brakes are too tight, use the hex wrench counterclockwise to loosen the screws on the pressure plate on the disc brake seat. Release the brake line to shorten slightly the exposed length and tighten the screws of the pressure plate. If you feel that the brake is too loose, release the screws on the pressure plate, drag the brake cable to slightly lengthen the length and then lock the screws on the pressure plate. EN13 BAR ADJUSTMENT If you feel that the bar is not tight enough, use the hex wrench to tighten the two screws in the folding mechanism
If you notice that you need more air pressure in the wheels, use an ination system to adjust the pressure. CAUTION: Excessive pressure could cause the wheel to burst. The driving with no air in wheels also can damage the wheel.
4.2 Starting of a ride
Prior to usage, make sure the folding mechanism has been fully secured. Step 1. Start the vehicle, pressing the power button (Drawing 1B: D). It will be ready to use in a while. Step 2. Place your feet properly down on the platform. Move to activate the scooter and press the acceleration trigger. Drive the vehicle, maintaining the gravity center so to keep the balance. It is to be remembered not to move your body in an abrupt manner. Step 3. To accelarete press the trigger lever (Drawing 1A: B) down. Step 4. To brake, press the trigger lever (Drawing 1A: E) down. Step 5. Getting off the vehicle: prior to stepping down, the vehicle needs to come to a halt.
4.3 Terrain and Reminders
1. It is intended for indoors or use on smooth, at surfaces. However, to pre-
vent loss of traction, you must always be careful when riding and learn to identify and avoid slippery and wet surfaces, loose materials, slopes, potholes and other obstacles.
2. Stop and step off it over unsafe surfaces or terrain.
3. Their wheels must be able to grip the ground for you to stay upright. Slips
occur when loses traction, potentially causing loss of control and a fall. Abrupt maneuvers and riding over slippery surfaces, bumps, and loose objects and materials, may cause it to lose traction.
4. Keep in mind that the maximum distance traveled on one full battery
charge shortens as the user’s weight increases and the slope of the terrain. It also depends on the surface conditions and weather conditions.
Please store it in a dry place. If left unused, recharge and unload the battery every month to maintain longevity of the battery.
To clean the device, use a damp cloth. If you need to scrape dirt, use a soft brush and then a damp cloth. In case the dirt is very sticky you can use a little toothpaste. Remember to wipe with a damp cloth after this. Be sure to keep the skid off while cleaning and make sure you cover the charging port to avoid problems with the electronic components. Do not use alcohol, gasoline, kerosene or other volatile or corrosive chemical components. This can damage both the appearance and the internal struc- ture of the scooter. Also, do not use a pressure water gun or running water.
The warranty will not be covered under the following conditions:
1. Malfunction due to misuse.14
2. Malfunction caused by unauthorized modications, disassembling or repair.
3. Accidental damage or malfunction due to unsuitable storage.
4. Unmatched warranty/proof of purchase and product.
6. Disassemble parts unspecied by this manual.
7. Damage or malfunction caused by long rides in the rain or soaking in water
6.1 We will guide you with below precaution points to understand and
use the product safely.
1. This Product is not a toy and only person age of 16+ are allowed to use.
2. Please wear all the safety gears before operating this product.
3. If the battery icon disappears, please stop using the product immediately
and plug in the adaptor to charge the battery.
4. Do not ride this product on oor where the water is spilled, this product is
NOT WATER PROOF, it may damage the product. Do not ride this product on dusty oor, this Product is NOT DUST PROOF, it may damage the product. Do not ride this product on uneven oor, by doing this you may lose your bal- ance and fall down. It is recommended always to use the product on smooth oor/surface only. We strongly recommend to learn how to ride this product thoroughly before using it. Rider must be accompanied by another person while riding it for the rst time to avoid any accident. When you try to ride the product and if it vibrates and jumps then stop using the product immediately and contact our service center for help. Always look straight while riding this product to avoid accident.
