Frequently Asked Questions - Cecofry Compact Rapid CECOTEC

How to use the Cecofry Compact Rapid fryer?
Place the appliance on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Plug it in, then remove the drip tray. Insert the ingredients into the basket, replace the tray. Turn the time selector to the desired time and the temperature selector to set cooking. To preheat, set the timer to 3 minutes empty.
What is the basket capacity?
The basket capacity is 1.5 L. Do not exceed the maximum quantity indicated in the cooking chart to avoid uneven cooking.
Can I use oil in the fryer?
Yes, you can add a little oil to make foods crispier, but never fill the basket with oil. Use a brush or lightly spray the food.
How to clean the fryer?
Unplug and let cool. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth. The drip tray and basket can be washed with hot water and mild detergent using a non-abrasive sponge. For stubborn dirt, soak for 10 minutes.
Why does white smoke come out of the appliance?
This can happen if the basket is not properly engaged or if the food is very greasy. Make sure you hear a click when inserting the basket. Clean the tray after each use to prevent grease buildup.
The food is not cooked evenly, what should I do?
Some foods need to be shaken halfway through. To do this, pull out the tray and shake it without pressing the basket release button. Also reduce the quantity if the basket is too full.
How to preheat the appliance?
Set the timer to 3 minutes at the desired temperature without food. Wait for the heating indicator to go off. Then add the ingredients and adjust the cooking time.
Can I cook cakes in the fryer?
Yes, use an oven mold or tray that fits the basket size. Refer to the cooking chart for times and temperatures (e.g., cake at 160°C for 20-25 minutes).
What is the power of the appliance?
The power is 900 W with a voltage of 220-240 V and a frequency of 50/60 Hz.
The drip tray does not slide well, what should I do?
This may be due to an excess of food in the basket. Reduce the quantity to not exceed the maximum capacity. Also ensure that the tray is properly aligned with the guides.

3. OPERATION

This hot-air fryer allows easy and healthy cooking.

Thanks to its high-speed air circulation, it is capable of perfectly frying food with barely any oil.

  1. Place the air fryer on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface.
  2. Connect the power cable to an earthed plug socket.
  3. Remove the grease drawer from the air fryer with extreme care. (Fig. 2)
  4. Put the ingredients in the basket.
  5. Align the grease drawer with the guides on the body of the product and slide it into the hot air fryer.

Warning: Never use the grease drawer without placing the basket in it.

  1. Turn the time knob to set the desired cooking time and the appliance will turn on. The power light indicator and the deep fryer will turn on. See the following section to determine the most appropriate cooking time.

  2. Turn the temperature knob to the desired temperature. See the following section to determine the most appropriate cooking temperature.

  3. In case the device is cold, add 3 minutes to the cooking time, and preheat it while empty.

  4. To preheat the air fryer: turn the time knob to select 3 minutes minimum and wait for the heat light indicator to go out (after about 3 minutes). Fill the basket and turn the time knob to select the desired cooking time. The timer will show the countdown.

  5. During the hot air frying process, the temperature indicator light will turn on and off. This indicates that the heating elements are activated and deactivated to keep the preset temperature.

  6. Some ingredients require shaking halfway through the preparation time. To stir the ingredients, pull the grease drawer out of the appliance by the handle and stir it. Then slide the fat-drip basket back into the air fryer.

Warning: Do not press the collection-box release button when stirring the fat-drip basket. (Fig. 3)

  1. The end-of-cooking alarm indicates that the pre-set cooking time has elapsed. Remove the grease drawer from the device and turn the time knob to 0. Once set to "0", the device will switch off automatically.

  2. Check if the ingredients are ready. If the ingredients are not ready yet, simply slide the grease drawer back into the appliance and set the timer for a few extra minutes.

  3. To remove ingredients, e.g. chips, remove the grease drawer from the hot air fryer and place it on a heat-resistant surface, press the basket release button, and pull the basket out of the grease drawer upwards.

Warning: Do not place the basket upside down while it is attached to the grease drawer.

Any excess oil that has collected on the bottom of the grease drawer will leak onto the ingredients.

  1. Empty the basket onto a plate or bowl, or use tongs to take out the ingredients.
  2. Once food is removed, the hot-air air fryer is ready to use again.

WARNINGS:

  • Do not place the air fryer on surfaces that are not heat-resistant.
  • Keep at least 35 cm of free space around the air fryer.
  • Do not fill the baskets with oil or any other liquid.
  • Do not place anything on top of the air fryer.
  • Do not cover the air vents as this could adversely affect the operation of the appliance.

4. TIPS

  • Smaller ingredients require a shorter preparation time than larger ones.
  • Stirring smaller pieces of food halfway through the frying process optimises the final result and prevents the food from being fried unevenly.
  • Add a little extra oil to fresh potatoes for a crispier result.
  • Do not use the device to fry greasy food (such as sausages).
  • Food that can be cooked in an oven can also be cooked with the device.
  • Use pre-made pastry to prepare quick and easy snacks. Homemade doughs require less cooking time.
  • Place a mould or baking tin inside the fryer to cook cakes, quiches, or to fry delicate or stuffed foods.
  • To reheat cooked food, set the temperature to 150°C for up to 10 minutes.
