Frequently Asked Questions - SSFE 25 A1 SILVERCREST

How to melt chocolate with this appliance?
Fill the bowl up to the MAX mark (250 g max) with pieces of chocolate. Optionally add liquid cream (1 volume for 4 volumes of chocolate) to prevent a sticky mass. Turn the thermostat to position II (melt) and stir from time to time with the spatula until a homogeneous liquid is obtained. Then switch to position I (keep warm) to enjoy.
Can I use something other than chocolate?
The appliance is designed only for melting chocolate and preparing chocolate fondue. Do not use for other foods (cheese, oil, etc.) as the temperature and power are not suitable.
How to clean the appliance?
First unplug the appliance and let it cool completely. The bowl, spatula and forks are dishwasher safe or can be washed in warm soapy water. The base and heating surface should be wiped with a damp cloth (no abrasive cleaner). Never immerse electrical parts.
What to do if the chocolate becomes grainy or does not melt?
Add a little liquid cream (or cocoa butter) and stir gently. Avoid overheating: position II (max 75 °C) is sufficient. Excessive heat can burn the chocolate. Use good quality chocolate.
Can I leave the appliance on unattended?
No. Like any electrical appliance, it should not be left unattended while operating. Unplug after use and do not move it when hot.
What is the maximum capacity of the bowl?
The bowl can hold a maximum of 250 g of chocolate (fill up to the MAX mark). Do not exceed this amount to avoid overflow.
Are spare parts available?
Spare parts (bowl, spatula, forks) must be requested from after-sales service at the contact details provided in the manual. Availability is guaranteed for the duration of the legal warranty.
How do I know if the appliance is on?
A red pilot light on the base illuminates when the thermostat is set to I or II. It stays on as long as the appliance is powered.
Is the appliance compatible with all types of chocolate?
Yes, but some chocolates (especially those with high sugar content) may become sticky. Adding liquid cream (1 volume for 4 volumes of chocolate) improves texture. Avoid filled chocolates or those with inclusions.
What is the warranty on this appliance?
SilverCrest offers a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase. It covers material and manufacturing defects. Keep the receipt as proof of purchase. For any claims, contact customer service.
