Foot Spike8 Attaching the grille This unit and the grille are packed separately. The back of the grille is fitted with a magnet. The grille can be attached by aligning its curved section with the curved surface at the top on the front of this unit. NOTE

  • The diaphragms of all tweeter, midrange and woofers of this unit include a natural material called spruce. Therefore, fibers and chips in the material may be visible on the surface of the diaphragm. Since these are not defects but common for this natural material, they do not affect the quality.
  • The specific type of rubber used for the surround supporting the woofer diaphragm was carefully chosen to optimize the sound quality. In rare cases, this rubber may turn an off- white color. Turn the input terminal knobs on the rear of this unit counterclockwise to loosen them. 2 Insert the bare wire section into the hole in the input terminal. NOTE

  • Do not insert the cable insulation into the hole. Otherwise, sound may not be produced. 3 Turn the input terminal knobs clockwise to tighten them and secure the cables. Make sure that the wire core does not protrude from the hole. 4 Connect the speaker cables to the L (left) and R (right) speaker terminals on the amplifier. NOTE
  • The red terminal of this unit is positive (+), and the black terminal is negative (–).
  • If a speaker is connected with reversed polarity, the sound will be unnatural. NOTICE
  • Be careful not to allow the bare wires of the positive (+) and negative (–) speaker cables to come into contact with each other or other metal parts. Otherwise, the speakers may be damaged.
  • Affix the speaker cables to a wall, etc. Otherwise, hands or feet may be caught on the cables, causing the unit to tip over.
  • Since the speakers may be damaged if an equalizer or tone controls of an amplifier (BASS, TREBLE, etc.) are set to maximum and output at a high volume level, or if certain signals (sounds from a tape fast-forwarding or a turntable stylus touching the surface of a disc, specific frequencies from a signal generator and sine waves or similar signals) are continuously input, avoid such conditions.
