Frequently Asked Questions - ClimaData Box Laserliner

How to install the battery in the ClimaData Box?
Open the battery compartment on the back of the device. Insert a lithium battery 3.6 V type 1/2 AA (14250) respecting the polarity symbols (+/-) shown in the compartment. Close the cover. The device turns on automatically.
How to start a measurement recording?
For manual start, press and hold the button (1) until the screen displays "Rec". You can also configure automatic or delayed start via the PC software. Once connected to the computer, use the Configuration menu to choose the mode.
How to transfer recorded data to a computer?
Connect the ClimaData Box to a USB port of your computer using the provided USB cable. Launch the software installed from the CD. Click the "Download" button to import the data. During transfer, the screen displays "-PC-". When finished, the data appears in the software.
What does the display "-LO-" on the screen mean?
The message "-LO-" indicates a problem with the sensor. In this case, the device must be sent to Umarex-Laserliner customer service. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.
How to set the temperature or humidity alarm?
In the software, access the Configuration menu. Under "Alarm function settings", you can set high and low thresholds for temperature, relative humidity and dew point. If a value exceeds the threshold, the LED (2) flashes: red for temperature, yellow for humidity.
What is the internal memory capacity?
The internal memory can store up to 49,050 measured values. The recording duration depends on the configured measurement interval (from 1 second to 24 hours). Once the memory is full, either recording stops (stop mode) or old data is overwritten (continuous mode).
Can I use the device in humid or cold environments?
Yes, the device operates from -40 °C to 70 °C and from 0 % to 100 % relative humidity (non-condensing). However, after moving from a cold/humid environment to a warm environment, condensation may form. Let the device acclimatize vertically for a few moments.
How to clean the device?
Clean all components with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use cleaning agents, abrasives or solvents. Store the device in a dry and clean place.
Is the software available in French?
The provided software is only available in English. The user interface uses English terms but its use remains simple: save, open, configuration, download, etc. You can refer to the manual instructions.
How to reset the device or delete data?

Laserliner ClimaData Box - Setup menu - 1

5.1 Sampling rate

The sampling rate defines how often measurements are recorded. Setting options: 1 ... 60 seconds, 1 ... 60 minutes and 1 ... 24 hours. The maximum measurement duration is calculated under "Recording time". The measurement memory is full at the end of this time. See also section 5.6 "Continuous / non-continuous recording".

5.2 LED cycle setting

Active recording is signalled by the LED (3) and "REC" on the display. The LED signal can be set to appear every 10, 20 or 30 seconds. Or the LED signal can be switched off.

5.3 Options when starting to measure

Measurement can be started manually, automatically or after the set time.

Manually Hold the key (1) down to start or stop measurement.

Automatically: Measurement starts as soon as the device is disconnected from the computer.

Time lag on start: Measurement commences at the end of the set time.

5.4 Current time

"Current time" displays the set date and time. You can change the date format in this menu.

5.5 Alarm function settings

Laserliner ClimaData Box - Alarm function settings - 1

The alarm range can be freely defined for the three measurement variables: Temperature, relative humidity and dew point. If the measuredvalue goes above or below the set cap or floor, the alarm LED (2) flashes once a minute.

LED red: Max./min. temperature exceeded LED yellow: Max./min. humidity exceeded LED flashes when alarm signals low / high: The alarm function can be switched on or off.

Alarm when recording is not active: A signal is issued when the recording function (REC) is not active.

5.6 Continuous / Non-continuous recording

Continuous recording: The device records until manually stopped.

Older measurements are overwritten.

Non-continuous

recording:

Recording stops automatically when the data

memory is full.

Notes on the measurement process and on use
