Safety
This section contains important safety instructions for handling the device. This device complies with the statutory safety regulations. Improper use may result in personal injury and property damage.
Basic safety instructions
- Check the device for visible damage before use. Do not use a device that has been damaged or dropped.
- To avoid possible risks, arrange for damaged cables or connectors to be exchanged by an authorised specialist, the Customer Service Department or a similarly qualified professional.
This device may be used by children aged 8 years and above and by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capacities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told how to use the device safely and are aware of the potential risks. Do not allow children to use the device as a toy. Do not allow children to carry out cleaning and user maintenance tasks unless they are supervised.
DANGER! Do not allow children to play with the packaging material! Keep all packaging materials away from children. There is a risk of suffocation! - Protect the charging cable from hot surfaces and sharp edges and ensure that it is not stretched tight or kinked.
Never open the device and never carry out any repairs yourself.
■ Do not make any unauthorised modifications or alterations to the device. -
Do not allow any liquids or moisture to get into the device.
-
Do not expose the device to water spray or dripping water, and do not place liquid-filled objects such as vases or open drink containers on or near the device.
■ Keep the device away from open flames (e.g. candles) at all times.
The device is not designed for use in rooms with high temperatures or humidity (e.g. bathrooms) or where there is excessive dust. - Do not use the device immediately after moving it from a cold room to a warm room. Always allow the device to acclimatise before turning it on.
Do not cover the device during operation.
Due to the high power consumption, a USB mains adapter must be used to operate the charging pad. Do not use the charging pad on a USB port of a PC or notebook.
- Never subject the device to extreme heat or humidity. This particularly applies to storage in a car. If the car is stationary for extended periods and in hot weather with direct sunlight, high temperatures occur in the car interior and the glove compartment. Remove any electrical and electronic devices from the vehicle.
WARNING! When setting up the device, make sure that it does not obstruct steering, braking or the operation of other vehicle operating systems (e.g. airbags) or restrict your field of vision when driving.
DANGER! Do not place the car cradle in or near the deployment area of the airbag as the cradle would be flung through the vehicle interior when the airbag deploys, which could result in serious injuries.
■ Ensure that the cradle is not installed in a location where you could come into contact with it in the event of an accident or collision.
If you want to charge your mobile phone by induction in the car cradle, make sure that the phone case does not contain any metal plate. Metal components could cause the device to overheat.
Refer also to the operating instructions for your mobile phone/equipment.
WARNING! If you notice a burning smell or smoke coming from your car/USB adapter, disconnect it from the cigarette lighter immediately. Have the device checked by a qualified specialist before using it again.
All of the applicable laws in your location must be observed. Your hands must always be free to operate the vehicle safely when you are driving. Traffic safety must always take priority whilst driving. Use this cradle only if no hazard is likely to occur in any driving situation.

Fig. 1
Plug the car/USB adapter 10 into the 12 / 24V socket (cigarette lighter) in your vehicle.
The operating LED ⑧ lights up white to indicate that the car/
USB adapter 10 is ready for use.
Depending on the vehicle type, it is possible that the ignition has to be switched on first.
CAUTION
The total power consumption of the devices connected to the two USB sockets 7 / 9 may not be higher than 5.4 A. Make sure that the power consumption of your device is no higher than 3 A when you are using the USB socket 9 (green). When you are using the USB socket 7 , make sure that the power consumption of your device is no higher than 2.4 A. Refer to the operating instructions of your device for more information.
The maximum power output of the car/USB adapter 10 is 5.4 A. The maximum power output of the USB socket (green) 9 is 3 A. The maximum power output of the USB socket 7 is 2.4 A.
NOTE
The USB socket (green) supports the Qualcomm Quick ChargeTM 3.0 standard. If the connected device is compatible with this charging standard, it will be detected by the car/USB adapter ⑩ automatically. The car/USB adapter ⑩ supplies the appropriate output voltage or output current so that your device can be charged more quickly. Devices without this charging standard can also be charged using the USB socket (green) ⑨ .
Operation and use
Charging your mobile phone wirelessly
NOTE
The car cradle is not suitable for using the mobile phone in a horizontal direction.
- Some mobile phones need to be taken out of their case for charging.
At ambient temperatures above 25^ C , the charging power is reduced to protect against overheating. This increases the charging time of your mobile phone.
- When a non-compatible mobile phone is placed in the car cradle, the LED ③ flashes. Use a suitable adapter for induction charging.
Place the mobile phone on the supports 5 of the car cradle. The weight of the mobile phone causes the holding clamps 6 to move inwards automatically.
Charging starts immediately and is indicated on the display of the mobile phone. The LED ③ lights up permanently, also signalling that the mobile phone is being charged.
Adjust the tilt of the car cradle so that the viewing angle of your mobile phone meets your needs. Undo the screw ring 14 a little to make it easier to adjust the ball joint 15.
Lift the mobile phone to remove it from the car cradle. The holding clamps ⑥ automatically move outwards.
When charging is complete, disconnect the car/USB adapter 10 from the 12/24 V vehicle socket (cigarette lighter).
CAUTION
- In vehicles in which the cigarette lighter also works with the ignition switched off, the device must be disconnected from the cigarette lighter after use. Otherwise, the vehicle battery may be discharged over a long period of time, since the device also uses power when it is idle.
Charging other USB devices
CAUTION
If you use both USB sockets 7 / 9 to charge 2 devices at the same time, the total current consumption may not exceed 5.4 ~A(= 5400 ~mA) . Otherwise, the car/USB adapter 10 could overload and be damaged.
- You can also charge other devices that require a 5 V charging voltage via the two USB sockets 7 / 9 on the car/USB adapter 10 . To do this, connect the charging cable of your device to one of the USB sockets on the car/USB adapter 10 .
Status of the car cradle LED
The LED ③ lights up as follows depending on the operating status:
| LED Operating status | |
| White LED lights up for 3 seconds Car cradle has been connected | |
| White LED lights up permanently Mobile phone is being charged | |
| White LED off Stand-by | |
| White LED flashes Mobile phone is not compatible |
Troubleshooting
A connected device is not charging (the white operating LED 8 on the car/USB adapter 10 does not light up)
No connection to the cigarette lighter. Check the connection.
Depending on the vehicle type, it is possible that the ignition has to be switched on first.
The white operating LED ⑧ goes out after a device has been connected
The car/USB adapter 10 is overloaded and will no longer charge connected devices. The internal overcurrent protection has been triggered.
Disconnect all connected devices from the car/USB adapter 10.
The white operating LED 8 lights up immediately and the car/USB adapter 10 is ready for use again.
The mobile phone is not charging (the white LED ③ does not light up)
No connection to the cigarette lighter. Check the connection.
Depending on the vehicle type, it is possible that the ignition has to be switched on first.
The white LED ③ flashes rapidly after a mobile phone has been placed in the car cradle
The mobile phone is not compatible with Qi induction charging technology and cannot be charged. Use a suitable adapter to charge your mobile phone by induction charging.
Some mobile phones need to be taken out of their case for charging.
NOTE
If you cannot solve the problem with the above-mentioned solutions, please contact the Service Hotline (see section Service).
