USER MANUAL PCHT 3044 ProfiCare
This warns you of dangers to your health and indicates possible risks of injury. CAUTION: This refers to possible hazards to the machine or other objects. NOTE: This highlights tips and information. General Notes Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this appliance to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.
- Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
- When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appli
ance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used.
- Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the appliance off. Remove the plug from the socket.
- The appliance and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the appliance must not be used.
- Use only original spare parts.
- In order to ensure your children’s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach. WARNING! Do not allow small children to play with the foil used for packaging the appliance. There is a danger of suffocation! Special Safety Information for this Appliance Symbols on the Product On the product you will find symbols that indicate warnings or provide information: Read the instructions! WARNING OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK! Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, shower basins or other vessels containing water.
- If the appliance is used in the bathroom, disconnect it from the Power supply after use as nearby water presents a hazard. This also applies if the appliance is switched off.31
- This hairdryer must be fixed out of reach of a person taking a bath or shower.
- Hand-held part of hairdryer incorporates electrical compo- nents, instructions state that the appliance must be fixed so that the hand-held part, when fully extended, is out of reach of a person taking a bath or shower.
- As additional protection we recommend the installation of a fault current protection appliance (FI / RCD) with a rated current of not more than 30 mA in the wiring system of the bathroom. Please contact an authorised electrician for advice.
- The nozzle gets hot during operation! Risk of burns!
- Please ensure that the inlet grille remains free of fluff and hairs. Danger of fire!
- Do not repair the appliance by yourself. Always contact an au- thorized technician. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly quali- fied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental ca- pabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children must not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are supervised.
- This appliance is not intended to be immersed in water during cleaning. Please observe the instructions that we have included for you in the chapter “Cleaning”.32 Overview of the Components / Delivery Scope

- Remove the appliance from the packaging.
- Remove any packaging materials that may be present inside the packaging or inside the appliance.
- Check the overview of the components / delivery scope and ensure that all of the components are present. Using the Appliance Instructions for Use Before you start to dry your hair for the first time using this appliance.
- Remove any packaging that is still present. Unwind the mains lead completely. Make sure there are no knots in the mains lead that could damage the appliance or cause any risk to the user.
- Clean the housing, the cold air inlet (2) and the hot / cold air exhaust (3) with a damp cloth.
- Please ensure the power switch (5) is put into the 0 position.
1. Select an installation location without pipes or cables
behind it. Place the mounting stud (16) with the lower, thicker side facing the wall, mark the fastening hole and drill the hole accordingly through the dedicated drilling hole (9) for the mounting screws (15).
2. Insert the supplied wall plug, place the mounting stud
(16) and screw into place with the supplied mounting screw (15).
3. Hang the wall mount (10) over the mounting stud (16).
You will hear a click when it is firmly in place. Mark the fastening holes and drill the holes accordingly through the dedicated drilling holes (9) for the mounting screws (15).
4. Insert the supplied wall plugs (14) and fix the wall mount
(10) in place with the supplied mounting screws (15).
5. Hang the hairdryer (1) in the wall mount (10) and ensure
the wall mount (10) remains firmly in place.

ryer (1) switches on and is ready to be used. NOTE: Any smoke or smells produced by the appliance during this procedure is normal. Please ensure for sufficient ventilation.
9. To increase the temperature of the hot air, slide the
power switch (5) into the II position. The increased sound production after switching the power switch (5) into the II position is normal. NOTE:
- Ensure that the cold air inlet (2) remains free from any obstructions and remains uncovered during the use of the hairdryer (1).
- Ensure that the hot / cold air exhaust (3) remains free from any obstructions and remains uncovered during the use of the hairdryer (1).
10. In order to use cold air while hair drying press and hold
the cool shot button (4). Cold air will keep coming from the hot / cold air exhaust (3) until the cool shot button (4) is released.
11. After use, slide the power switch (5) into the 0 position
to turn the hairdryer (1) off before unplugging the power plug (13) from the power socket.
12. Remove the power plug (13) from the socket and allow
the hairdryer (1) to cool down.
13. After the hairdryer (1) has completely cooled down,
wipe the housing, the cold air inlet (2) and the hot / cold air exhaust (3) clean with a paper towel and remove any hair sticking to the hairdryer (1).
Pay attention to the heated up hot / cold air exhaust (3). Risk of burning. CAUTION: Do not use pointed or sharp objects to avoid damaging the housing and the internal fans of the hairdryer (1). Electrical connection
1. Check whether the mains voltage that you want to use
matches the one of the hairdryer (1). You will find the information about this on the power plug (13).
2. Insert the power plug (13) in a duly installed protective
3. Switch off the hairdryer (1) by sliding the power switch (5)
into the 0 position. The power plug (13) can be removed from the power socket.33 Switching Off If you would like to interrupt operation or switch the hair
dryer (1), slide the power switch (5) into the 0 position, and remove the powerplug (13) from the power socket. Hanging loop
- The appliance can be hung by using the designated hanging loop (7) for temporary storing.
- Please make sure the hairdryer (1) is safely turned off and the power switch (5) is put into the 0 position to avoid any risk of injury or potential damage to the hairdryer (1) while moving around the appliance while being hung.
- Ensure that the power cord is not obstructing the move- ment around the hairdryer (1) while hanging to avoid any risk of injury or potential damage to the appliance.
- Always pull out the power plug from the mains socket before cleaning the appliance and wait until the appliance has com- pletely cooled down.
- Under no circumstances should you immerse the appliance in water for cleaning purposes. Doing so might result in an elec- tric shock or cause a fire to start. CAUTION:
- Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects in order to avoid permanent damage to the appliance.
- Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents in order to avoid permanent damage to the appliance.
