General Notes
Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this appliance to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.
- The power adapter is only suitable for use in dry rooms.
- Check if the output current, voltage and the polarity of the power adapter match the information on the connected appliance!
- Do not touch the connected power adapter with wet hands!
- When cleaning if necessary disconnect the appliance from the power adapter.
- Ensure that the cable of the power adapter does not become kinked, jammed, driven over or come into contact with heat sources.
- Do not use a damaged power adapter.
- The appliance and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the appliance must not be used.
- Use only original spare parts.
- In order to ensure your children's safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

Special Safety Instructions for this Appliance

WARNING of electrical shock:
Do not use this appliance in close proximity to water if the power adapter is connected (e.g. bathtub, washbasin or other containers filled with water)!

WARNING:
- Keep the appliance dry!
- Keep the power adapter dry.
- Do not charge the appliance in the vicinity of bathtubs, sinks, or other vessels containing water.
- If the appliance accidentally should fall into water, disconnect the power adapter from the wall socket immediately.
- Charge the appliance in a cool and dry location.

WARNING:
- The appliance is intended for use with safety extra-low voltage. Connect only to a power supply according to the specifications on the rating label.
- Do not repair the appliance by yourself. Always contact an authorized technician. If the connection cable of this appliance has been damaged, it must be replaced with a special connection cable available from the manufacturer or its customer service.
- Do not replace any parts. Do not perform any modifications. Risk of electric shock!
• Always turn off the appliance and disconnect the plug after use.
- This appliance may be used by children, from the age of 8 and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or persons with inadequate experience and lack of knowledge if they are supervised or have been trained and understand the hazards involved concerning the safe use of the appliance.
• Children must not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Do not use any power adapter other than the one supplied.

CAUTION:
This appliance is not intended to be immersed in water during cleaning. Please observe the instructions that we have included for you in the chapter “Cleaning”.
Special Safety Information Concerning the Rechargeable Built-in Battery

CAUTION:
- The appliance contains a lithium-ion accumulator, which may not be substituted by the user.
- Risk of explosion in case of improper replacement of the rechargeable battery. Replace only by the same or an equivalent type.
- Do not expose the rechargeable built-in battery to hard impacts or pressure. Do not drop the appliance!
- Do not expose the appliance to intense heat such as sunlight. Also keep the appliance away from heat sources like radiators, stoves, etc.!
- The ambient temperature should be between 0 °C and max. 35 °C. Heat damages the rechargeable battery. Increasingly lower temperatures reduce the capacity and the life of the rechargeable battery.
- Do not charge the rechargeable battery unsupervised.
- If the charging procedure has finished, remove the power adapter from the socket.

Charging the Rechargeable Battery
- Turn the appliance off by using the button.
- Connect the power adapter plug to the adapter jack on the bottom of the appliance.
- Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet. Prior to first use, charge the rechargeable battery for approx. 1 hour.
- Disconnect the power adapter from the outlet once the rechargeable battery has been charged completely.

NOTE:
Even when switched off, the rechargeable battery discharges continuously. If the appliance is out of use for a longer period of time, charge the rechargeable battery at least once every 4 to 8 weeks.

NOTE: Mains Operation
Is the rechargeable battery completely empty and do you want to operate the appliance with the cord? Charge the rechargeable battery for a few seconds. After that, you may operate the appliance with the cord.
Shaving
- Remove the protective cover.
- Turn the appliance on by using the button.
- Hold the shaver at a right angle to your face.
- Follow the outline of your face, and continue to hold the shaver at a right angle to your skin. Small irregularities will be corrected by the flexible shaving head.

NOTE:
- Shave against the direction of hair growth.
- If necessary, stretch the skin with your free hand.
Using the Long Hair Cutter
With the long hair cutter, you can trim head hair or beard hair in a controlled manner.
- Slide down the unlocking to unfold the long hair cutter.
- In order to close the long hair cutter push it back down. It must audibly snap.
Stop Operation
Press the ⏻ button to switch the appliance off.

NOTE:
The display will go blank after approx. 5 seconds.
Cleaning

WARNING:
- Before cleaning the handset with water, disconnect it from the connection cable.
- Disconnect the power adapter from the wall socket when cleaning.
- Do not immerse the appliance and the power adapter into water.

CAUTION:
- Do not use a wire brush or other abrasives.
- Do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
Shaving Head
Cleaning after each Use
You may clean the shaving head under running water.
- Switch off the appliance.
- Press the unlock button for the shaving head. Remove the shaving head.
- Rinse the shaving head under hot running water. Clean the shaving head in soapy water once in a while.

NOTE:
Do not clean the appliance with water of over 60 °C.
- Rinse thoroughly with clear water afterwards.
- Let the cleaned parts dry.
- Place the shaving head back onto the handpiece. It must audibly snap.
Alternatively, you may clean the shaving head with the brush provided.

CAUTION:
The shaving foils must not be cleaned with the brush!
Monthly cleaning
Thoroughly clean the shaving head once a month. If necessary, use special cleaning aids available in specialist shops.
- Switch off the appliance.
- Press the unlock button for the shaving head. Remove the shaving head.

WARNING: Risk of injuries!
The shear blades are sharp!
Disassemble the shaving head. Please refer to the overview on page 3. Proceed as follows:
3.1. Unscrew the unlocking of the shaving foil fixer in the direction of the arrow.
3.2. Remove the shaving foil fixer by pulling it up.
3.3. Remove the shaving foils and shear blades.
- Rinse all parts of the shaving head under hot running water. Occasionally clean these parts in a soap solution.
- Rinse thoroughly with clear water afterwards.
- Let the cleaned parts dry.
- Put the shaving head back together in reverse order.
- Lubricate the shaving foils using light machine oil (a few drops are sufficient).
Cleaning the Hand-held Unit and Power Adapter
- You may wipe these parts with a damp cloth.
- Use slightly soapy water to remove spots.
Changing the Shaving Head
To maintain the shaving performance at 100 %, replace the shaving head at the latest every 18 months or when the shear parts show wear.
For replacement parts, please consult your dealer.
