General Notes
Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this appliance to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.
- The power adapter is only suitable for use in dry rooms.
- Check if the output current, voltage and the polarity of the power adapter match the information on the connected appliance!
- Do not touch the connected power adapter with wet hands!
- When cleaning if necessary disconnect the appliance from the power adapter.
- Ensure that the cable of the power adapter does not become kinked, jammed, driven over or come into contact with heat sources.
- Do not use a damaged power adapter.
- The appliance and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the appliance must not be used.
- Use only original spare parts.
- In order to ensure your children's safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

Special Safety Instructions for this Appliance

WARNING of electrical shock:
Do not use this appliance in close proximity to water if the power adapter is connected (e.g. bathtub, washbasin or other containers filled with water)!

WARNING:
- Disconnect the hand-held unit from the connecting cable before cleaning it with water.
- Keep the appliance dry!
- Keep the power adapter dry.
- Do not charge the appliance in the vicinity of bathtubs, sinks, or other vessels containing water.
- If the appliance accidentally should fall into water, disconnect the power adapter from the wall socket immediately.
- Charge the appliance in a cool and dry location.

WARNING:
- The appliance is intended for use with safety extra-low voltage. Connect only to a power supply according to the specifications on the rating label.
- Do not repair the appliance by yourself. Always contact an authorized technician. If the connection cable of this appliance has been damaged, it must be replaced with a special connection cable available from the manufacturer or its customer service.

Always turn off the appliance and disconnect the plug after use.

Charging the Appliance
- Turn off the appliance. "o" is visible on the switch.
- Connect the adapter plug to the adapter jack on the bottom of the appliance.
- Plug the power adaptor into a wall outlet.
NOTE:
- During the charging process, the plug-symbol shall light up on the display.

The minute indicator in the display provides information on the charging status of the battery. "60" indicates that the battery is fully charged.

Charge the appliance before first use for 2,5 hours.
NOTE:
After initial use, do not charge the battery for longer than 2.5 hours at one time.

NOTE: Mains Operation
Is the battery completely empty and do you want to operate the appliance with the cord? Charge the battery for a few seconds. After that, you may operate the appliance with the cord.

CAUTION:
After 2,5 hours always disconnect from mains power supply.

NOTE: Lifetime of Rechargeable Battery
You can extent the lifetime of the rechargeable battery by following these steps:
Only charge after the battery is nearly exhausted.
- Do not charge for more than 2,5 hours.
- Charge the appliance at temperatures between 0^ and +40^ .
Shaving
- Remove the protective cover.
- Push the switch upwards. "0" is visible.
- Hold the shaver at a right angle to your face.
- Follow the outline of your face, and continue to hold the shaver at a right angle to your skin. Small irregularities will be corrected by the flexible shaving head.

NOTE:
- Shave against the direction of hair growth.
- If necessary, stretch the skin with your free hand.
Using the Long Hair Cutter
With the long hair cutter, you can trim head hair or beard hair in a controlled manner.
- Use the slider to turn the long hair cutter off or on.
Stop Operation
Stop operation by pushing the switch downwards. "o" is visible.
Cleaning

WARNING:
- Before cleaning the handset with water, disconnect it from the connection cable.
- Disconnect the power adapter from the wall socket when cleaning.
- Do not immerse the appliance and the power adapter into water.

CAUTION:
- Do not use a wire brush or other abrasives.
- Do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
Shaving Head

CAUTION:
The shaving foil must not be cleaned with the brush.
Use the brush to clean the cutter block and the inside of the shaving head.
You may clean the shaving head under running water.
- Switch off the appliance.
- Press the shaving head buttons.
- Rinse the shaving head and the cutter block under hot running water. Clean the shaving head in soapy water once in a while.

CAUTION: Cutter Block

Remove the cutter block as a whole only. Otherwise, the smaller parts may become lost. To remove the cutter block, withdraw it from the appliance using the white connecting piece.
- Rinse thoroughly with clear water afterwards.
- Let the cleaned parts dry.
Cleaning the Hand-held Unit and Power Adapter
- You may wipe these parts with a damp cloth.
- Use slightly soapy water to remove spots.
Maintenance and Replacement
- Clean the cutter block thoroughly once a month. If necessary, use special cleaning aids available in specialist shops.
- Lubricate the shaving foils and the long hair cutter using light machine oil (a few drops are enough).
Replacement of Shaving Parts
For 100% optimum shaving performance, change the shaving head and the cutter block at least every 18 months or whenever the shearing parts show signs of wear. It is recommended to replace both parts at the same time.
For replacement parts, please consult your dealer.
