General Notes
Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.
- Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
- When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
- Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off. Remove the plug from the socket.
- The device and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the device must not be used.
- Use only original spare parts.
- In order to ensure your children's safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

WARNING of electrical shock:
Do not use this appliance in close proximity to water if the power adapter is connected (e.g. bathtub, washbasin or other containers filled with water)!
- Do not repair the appliance by yourself. Always contact an authorized technician. If the connection cable of this appliance has been damaged, it must be replaced with a special connection cable available from the manufacturer or its customer service.
- This appliance may be used by children, from the age of 8 and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or

- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
WARNING:

- Disconnect the hand-held unit from the power supply before cleanin.
- Only use the supplied power cord.

Charging the Unit
- Turn the unit off. OFF is visible on the switch.
- Connect the connector plug of the power cord to the bottom of the shaver.
- Connect the mains plug to the mains socket.
- The indicator light remains red during the charging process.
i NOTE:
The charge indicator does not indicate the state of charge of the rechargeable battery.
- Charge the unit before first use for 15 hours.
i NOTE:
• After initial use, do not charge the battery for longer than 13 hours.
i MAINS OPERATION
- Is the battery completely empty and do you want to operate the razor with the cord?
- Charge the battery for approx. 15 minutes. After that, you may operate the razor with the cord.
CAUTION:
After 13 hours always disconnect from mains power supply.
NOTE LIFETIME RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
You can extent the lifetime of the rechargeable battery by following these steps:
- Only charge after the battery is nearly exhausted.
- Do not charge for more than 13 hours.
- Charge the unit at temperatures between 0^ and +40^ .

- Remove the protective cover.
- Push the switch upwards. ON will be visible.
- Hold the shaver at a right angle to your face.
- Follow the outline of your face, and continue to hold the shaver at a right angle to your skin. Small irregularities will be corrected by the flexible shaving foil.
Using the long hair cutting attachment:
Use the long hair cutting attachment to precisely cut the hair or beard.
- Pull the slide on the back of the shaver for the long-hair cutter to pop out.
• After shaving, manually close the long-hair cutter.
Stop operation
Stop operation by pushing the switch downwards. OFF will be visible.
Cleaning and Maintenance

WARNING:
- Disconnect the hand-held unit from the power supply before cleaning.
- Do not immerse the parts into water.

CAUTION:
- Do not use a wire brush or other abrasives.
- Do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
Shaving head with shaving blades
- Switch of the shaver.
- Press the shaving head button.
- Clean the inside and the outside of the shaving head with the brush.
Cleaning the handset and the power cord
- You may wipe these parts with a damp cloth.
- Use slightly soapy water to remove spots.
Maintenance and replacement
- Clean the shaving head thoroughly once a month. If necessary, use special cleaning aids available in specialist shops.
- Lubricate the shaving foils and long hair cutting attachment with a light machine oil (a few drops suffice).
Replacement of shaving parts
To get 100% shaving performance, replace the shaver parts at least every 18 months or if the parts show signs of wear. We recommend that you replace the parts as a set.

Remove / Dispose of Rechargeable Batteries
This unit is equipped with a rechargeable Ni-MH battery.
Remove the battery before disposing of the unit.
As a consumer you are legally bound to return exhausted batteries/rechargeable batteries.

WARNING:
Disconnect from mains power supply before removing the battery!
- Use a small Philips head screwdriver to remove the housing screws.
- Separate both halves of the casing.
- Remove the rechargeable battery.
Return the battery at a collection point for batteries and/or hazardous waste. Ask your municipality for further information.
