Toxic gases from the chimney or exhaust duct are sucked back into the living rooms. Safe operation is only possible if the negative pressure in the room of the fireplace does not exceed 4 Pa (0.04 mbar). This can be achieved if by non-closable openings, e.g. doors, windows, in conjunction with a supply air / exhaust wall box or by other technical means that can supply air needed for combustion.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Fig. 1 Observe the minimum dimensions of the cooker hood. Make sure that the socket outlet is located so that it is covered by the duct, as the power cord cannot be placed outside the duct.
Fig. 2 The cooker hood should be placed at a distance of 65 - 75cm (26-30 inch) from the cooking surface for the best effect. In any case observe the information given by the manufacturer of the cooking surface.
Fig. 3 Determine the installation height and mark the holes for the extractor hood, the upper and lower ducts. Drill the holes, insert or drive in the expansion anchors and screw the retaining brackets with the hooks pointing upwards to the wall. Retaining bracket #1 holds the upper duct and is therefore the uppermost holding retaining bracket, while retaining bracket #3 holds the extractor hood and is therefore the lowest retaining bracket.
Fig. 4 In case of exhaust air operation, it is recommended to use the two air flaps in order to keep vermin away from the extractor hood. Insert one end of an air flap into the corresponding hole, slightly bend the air flap and then insert the other end into the corresponding hole. Proceed in the same way with the second air flap.

For recirculation air operation it is recommended to attach the two activated carbon filter caps left and right to the fan housing to neutralize odors. To do so, turn the upper glass panel upwards. Remove the grease and oil filter by first pressing the latch and then pulling out the filter to the right. Insert the activated charcoal filter caps left and right onto the fan housing and twist until they click into place. Reassemble the grease and oil filter and turn down the upper glass panel.

Fig. 5 Hang the cooker hood on the bottom bracket.
Fig. 6 Plug the power plug into the socket. The socket outlet must be placed in such a way, that it is later covered by the duct. For exhaust mode, insert the larger diameter hose end onto the exhaust hood outlet. Pull the hose apart and put the other end on the ventilation well connection in your kitchen.
Fig. 7 Insert both ducts into each other and pull out the upper duct to the correct length and hang both ducts onto their retaining brackets.

OPERATION

Fig. 8 There are three ventilation strengths to choose from. Select the desired fan power by pressing the corresponding switch. Press the light switch to turn the light on or off. Press the off switch to switch off the hood.

CLEANING AND CARE

It is recommended to operate the appliance prior to cooking.
- It is recommended to leave the appliance in operation for 15 minutes after cooking is terminated in order to completely eliminate cooking vapours and odours.
- The proper function of the cooker hood is conditioned by the regularity of the maintenance operations. This is especially the case when using the recirculation air operation.
- The anti-grease filter captures the grease particles suspended in the air, and is therefore subject to clogging according to the frequency of the use of the appliance.

Fig. 9 In order to prevent a fire hazard, it is recommendable to clean the filter at least every 2 months by carrying out the following instructions.

  • Turn the upper glass panel upwards. Remove the grease and oil filter by first pressing the latch and then pulling out the filter to the right.
  • Soak them for about 3 minutes in hot water (40 - 50^) with a degreasing detergent then brush it gently with a soft brush. Do not apply too much pressure, to avoid damaging it. Do not use abrasive detergents, as they will damage the hood;
  • The filter can be cleaned in a dishwasher with detergent, with a set temperature of 60^ .
  • Reassemble the grease and oil filter and turn down the upper glass panel.

Please do not use abrasive detergents, as they will damage the hood.

  • The cooker hood must be cleaned on a regular basis with hot water and a non corrosive detergent, in order to protect the main body from corrosion. It is recommended to clean the product at least every month, depending on the frequency of usage.

Attention! Do not use abrasive detergents or alcohol as it will damage the body.

Attention! Keep the motor and other spare parts free from water, as this will cause damage to the appliance.

Attention! Before cleaning the appliance always cut off the power.

Fig. 10 The cooker hood can be used in convection mode with active carbon filters.

  • Turn the upper glass panel upwards. Remove the grease and oil filter by first pressing the latch and then pulling out the filter to the right.
  • The active carbon filters are located at either end of the motor. Turn the active carbon filters in the correct direction until they are unscrewed.
  • Reassemble the grease and oil filter and turn down the upper glass panel.

Warning: The activated carbon filters are neither washable nor re-usable. The saturation of the activated carbon filters depends on the frequency of use of the appliance, the type of cooking and regularity of cleaning of the grease and oil filter. It should be changed no later than after 120 hours of usage. The active carbon filter shouldn't be exposed to heat.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If there are any problems during operation, please refer to the following table. If problems cannot be solved as indicated under Solution, please contact your manufacturer.

Problem Solution
The cooker hood does not start.Ensure that, the hood is connected to the electricity supply. Make sure that the fan speed control is set properly.
The cooker hood is not working. The fan speed is not set high enough. The grease filter is dirty. The kitchen is not ventilated well enough. If the hood is set for recirculation, ensure that the carbon filters have not expired. If the hood is set for extraction, ensure that the ducting and outlets are not blocked.
The cooker hood has switched off during operation. The safety cut-out device has been activated. Turn off the hob and then wait for the device to reset. Note that if you have installed your cooker hood too low, this will happen. If it happens frequently, it will be damaged.

ENERGY SAVING

In order to reduce the total environmental impact (e.g. energy use) of the cooking process, please be sure your product is installed according to the user manual, and that the operation place is properly ventilated.
