USER MANUAL OSM 102W OK

• Do not operate the product by means of an external timer or separate remote control system.

• This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and per- sons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and under- stand the hazards involved.

• Children shall not play with the product.

• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.

• Keep this product and its power cord out of reach of children under the age of 8.

• Read this user manual thoroughly before first use and pass it on with the product. Pay attention to the warnings on the product and in this user manual. It contains important information for your safety as well as for the use and maintenance of the equipment.

• Use the product only for its intended purpose and with recommended accessories and components. Improper use or wrong operation may lead to hazards. We do not accept any liability for resulting damages.

• Never leave the product unsupervised while it is switched on.

• Do not place heavy objects on top of the product.

• Never immerse electrical parts of the product in water during cleaning or operation. Never hold the product under running water.

• Do not under any circumstances attempt (e.g. damage in power cord, product is dropped, etc.) to repair the product yourself. For servicing and repairs, please consult an authorised service agent.

• The mains voltage must match the information on the rating label of the product.

• Only unplug from the power socket can separate the product completely from the mains. Please be sure that the power plug is in operable condition.

• Avoid damages to the power cord that may be caused by kinks or contact with sharp corners.

• Keep this product including power cord and power plug away from all heat sources like for example, ovens, hot plates and other heat-producing products/objects.

• Only unplug from the power socket by the plug itself. Do not pull on the cord.

• Use this product in dry indoor areas only and never outdoors.

• Place the product on a flat, sturdy and slip-resistant surface.

• Never use, expose or put the product near to: - direct sunlight and dust; - fire (fireplace, grill, candles), water (water splashes, vases, ponds, bath tube) or heavy moisture.

• This product is not suitable for commercial use. It is designed for household use only.

• Use heat-proof or wooden spatulas with the product to prevent damage to the heating plates‘ nonstick coating. Make sure that the spatulas used do not have any pointy or sharp edges.

• Do not place the product on hotplates (gas, electric, coal stoves, etc.).

• Fire hazard! Bread and other foodstus can burn! Do not use bread with a high sugar content since this may cause fire. Never leave the product unattended.

• Risk of burning! Do not touch the product’s hot surfaces. Touch the product only by its handle.

• Clean the product and all other accessories after each use.

7. Power cord with plug

During manufacturing, parts of the product are coated with a thin oil film for their protection. To remove production residue, run the product for approx. 10 minutes without foodstus. Make sure there is sucient ventilation as a slight odor and some smoke may occur. This is normal and will disappear shortly. OSM102_A5_130508.indb 18 8/5/13 5:50 PM19 Size - A5

Connect the power plug to a suitable power outlet. The red (2) and green (3) indicator lights turn on when the product is connected. Green light will turn OFF when the temperature is reached. Open the product and place slices of toast on hotplates. NOTE While the product heats up, you can butter the toast and prepare the fillings. We recommend using only slices of toast, which have the same shape as the hotplates of the product.

CAUTION Surfaces get hot during operation. Never touch the plates with sharp or abrasive items, as this would damage the plate surfaces. Add the filling and the top toast slices. Close the product firmly and locking it with the handle latch. NOTE After about 2-3 minutes the sandwiches are ready. OSM102_A5_130508.indb 19 8/5/13 5:51 PM20 Size - A5

Unlock the handle latch and open the lid carefully by using the handle. Use a heat-resistant plastic or wooden spatula to take out the finished sandwich. Unplug the power plug from the power outlet.

• Warning! Unplug the product and let it cool down completely before cleaning. Never immerse electrical parts of the product in water during cleaning or operation. Never hold the product under running water.

• Warning! When cleaning, never use solvents or abrasive materials, hard brushes, metallic or sharp objects. Solvents are harmful to human health and can attack plastic parts, while abrasive cleaning mechanisms and tools may scratch the surface(s).

• Clean the product’s exterior surfaces with a slightly damp cloth and then dry them thoroughly.

• Make sure that no water enters the product interior.

• Wipe the hotplates with paper towels or a soft damp cloth. If there are dicult to remove food residues, pour a little bit of edible oil on the hotplates and remove the residues after 5 minutes of exposure time.
