How to use the OK OSM 102W croque-monsieur maker?

Plug in the appliance, the red and green lights come on. Wait for the green light to turn off (temperature reached). Open, place bread slices, add filling, close and lock. After 2-3 minutes, the croque-monsieur are ready. Unlock and remove with a wooden or heat-resistant plastic spatula.

What types of bread to use?

Use bread slices shaped to fit the plates. Bread with high sugar content can burn and cause a fire. Avoid them.

How long to cook a croque-monsieur?

Cooking takes about 2 to 3 minutes. The green light turns off when the temperature is reached. Do not leave unattended.

How to clean the appliance?

Unplug and let it cool completely. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth. Plates: wipe with absorbent paper or a soft damp cloth. For stubborn residue, pour a little cooking oil, wait 5 minutes, then remove. Never immerse in water.

Can metal spatulas be used?

No, use only wooden or heat-resistant plastic spatulas. Metal or sharp objects would damage the non-stick coating.

What to do if the appliance does not heat?

Check that the plug is connected and the red light is on. If the problem persists, do not attempt to repair yourself. Contact an authorized after-sales service.

Is it safe to leave the appliance unattended?

No, never leave the appliance unattended while it is on. Risk of fire, especially with bread.

• Fire hazard! Bread and other foodstuffs can burn! Do not use bread with a high sugar content since this may cause fire. Never leave the product unattended.
• Risk of burning! Do not touch the product's hot surfaces. Touch the product only by its handle.
• Clean the product and all other accessories after each use.

BEFORE FIRST TIME USE

During manufacturing, parts of the product are coated with a thin oil film for their protection. To remove production residue, run the product for approx. 10 minutes without foodstuffs. Make sure there is sufficient ventilation as a slight odor and some smoke may occur. This is normal and will disappear shortly.

Connect the power plug to a suitable power outlet.

The red (2) and green (3) indicator lights turn on when the product is connected. Green light will turn OFF when the temperature is reached.

Open the product and place slices of toast on hotplates.

NOTE

While the product heats up, you can butter the toast and prepare the fillings. We recommend using only slices of toast, which have the same shape as the hotplates of the product.

Add the filling and the top toast slices.

Close the product firmly and locking it with the handle latch.

CAUTION

Surfaces get hot during operation.

Never touch the plates with sharp or abrasive items, as this would damage the plate surfaces.

NOTE

After about 2-3 minutes the sandwiches are ready.

Unlock the handle latch and open the lid carefully by using the handle.

Use a heat-resistant plastic or wooden spatula to take out the finished sandwich.

Unplug the power plug from the power outlet.

CLEANING AND CARE

• Warning! Unplug the product and let it cool down completely before cleaning. Never immerse electrical parts of the product in water during cleaning or operation. Never hold the product under running water.
• Warning! When cleaning, never use solvents or abrasive materials, hard brushes, metallic or sharp objects. Solvents are harmful to human health and can attack plastic parts, while abrasive cleaning mechanisms and tools may scratch the surface(s).
• Clean the product's exterior surfaces with a slightly damp cloth and then dry them thoroughly.
  • Make sure that no water enters the product interior.
• Wipe the hotplates with paper towels or a soft damp cloth. If there are difficult to remove food residues, pour a little bit of edible oil on the hotplates and remove the residues after 5 minutes of exposure time.
• Keep the product in a dry, cool location which is protected against moisture and direct sunlight. Keep this product out of the reach of children.
