USER MANUAL Pro Curl Color Wella
Pro-Curl Color - shining curls for coloured hair Pro-Curl Color is the new professional hair curling tongs developed by Wella specially for coloured hair
Coloured hair displays very sensitive reactions to the application of heat, even if the hair structure it- self is basically strong and healthy. If the tempera- ture is too high the hair structure can easily suffer: the hair turns brittle and the colour fades. That is why coloured hair needs to be treated with special care. The Color Save function offers you an excellent styling without compromise on color results. Press- ing the COLOR SAVE button automatically sets the appliance to the ideal temperature. The precise temperature settings for every hair type permit extremely gentle treatment of the hair. The ion function reduces static charging and im- proves the hair’s moisture balance. This makes the hair easier to style and helps keeping its healthy natural shine. The Pro-Curl Color is available in two different diameters (24 and 32 mm) for medium and large curls. In a matter of seconds you will conjure up expressive natural-looking curls or waves and create greater volume. We are sure you will enjoy styling with the Pro-Curl Color

Reduce temperature in 10° steps
1 Features of the Pro-Curl Color Easily styled, silky smooth hair The ion function provides a steady flow of ions that reduce static charge in the hair. This makes the hair easier to style and helps it regain its healthy natural shine. Optimum temperature for coloured hair For styling of coloured hair the Color Save function offers you maximum protection with excellent styling conditions. Pressing the COLOR SAVE button sets the appliance to the ideal temperature. High-grade surfaces Thanks to their smooth high-quality anodised alu- minium surface, both the heating element and the clip of the Pro-Curl Color slide smoothly and gently through the hair. They are extremely resistant to high temperatures and haircare cosmetics. Rapid heating and constant temperatures The short initial heating time of only about 2 to 3 minutes means you never have to wait long to use your Pro-Curl Color . The appliance maintains the temperature constant at the selected level and ensures uniform heat transfer to the hair. Precisely adjustable temperature for every type of hair You can also use the temperature buttons for pre- cise adjustment of the recommended temperature (see page 32) in 10°C steps from 130°C to 190°C to suit every other hair type. Safe working – The clear display shows the set temperature and the Color Save function. – The insulated tip remains moderately warm and is safe to touch. – The swivel connection prevents the power cord from getting tangled, thereby making for easier working. – If no button is pressed for about 45 minutes, the appliance switches off automatically (see page 31). 4 The right temperature – the best protection for your hair CAUTION: Note that only a few types of hair re- quire the highest temperature setting. Always use the lowest temperature necessary for good styling results. You can damage the hair by using too high a tem- perature, keeping the appliance in contact with the hair for too long or curling it too frequently. You should not treat the same section more than once, especially at high temperatures. - Note: Risk of hair breakage! The following table shows you what temperatures we recommend for different hair structures: 5Styling Use for curling dry hair only. Please note that fine and sensitive hair reacts es- pecially fast to treatment. The Pro-Curl Color is suitable for hair of all lengths. The curls last longer in thick sections than thin ones. If the hair is long and thick, separate it into smaller sections. If it is fine, treat fairly thick sec- tions. Make sure you do not break off any hair tips! Any tips of hair must not be left sticking out, but must be wound round the curling tongs. - Wash hair, dry and comb well.
- Separate a section of the desired width and thickness.
- Wind the section into place. When doing so, maintain a minimum dis- tance of 1 cm from the scalp or place a comb underneath. Risk of burns!
- After about 10 to 15 seconds the curl has been formed. Do not leave the curling tongs on the hair for longer, as this could damage the hair.
- To remove, carefully unwind the Pro-Curl Color away from the head and open the clip.
- Repeat the process with the next sections.
- Before finishing, allow the hair to cool briefly.
- Unplug the power cord when you have finished the treatment.
5.2 Styling techniques
To create curls, waves and volume with the Pro- Curl Color , you can choose between different tech- niques: Option 1 Open the clip and insert the sec- tion at the lower end of the tongs while angling up the Pro- Curl Color
Close the clip and roll up the section in a spiral towards the hairline. This will produce curls in medi- um to long hair. Option 2 Open the clip and position the curling tongs at the hairline
Caution: Risk of burns!
With the other hand, wind the section of hair in a spiral around the tongs. Close the clip to hold the hair in place. ProCurl color.book Seite 33 Dienstag, 20. April 2010 7:40 19ENGLISH
This will also produce curls in medium to long hair. Option 3 Open the clip and position the section in the middle of the curl-ing tongs. Close the clip and roll up the hair towards the hairline, hold-ing the Pro-Curl Color parallel to the head. Tip: After rolling up the hair, you may wish to insert a comb under the curling tongs. This will pro-tect the scalp from becoming too hot. This option produces curls and movement in medium to short hair. 6Cleaning To ensure perfect functioning and full performance from your Pro-Curl Color , clean the appliance regu-larly. Do not use flammable or aggressive cleaners or abrasive scourers.Important: Before cleaning the appliance, always pull out the mains plug. Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning it.Cleaning the applianceFrom time to time, wipe all parts of the appliance with a slightly moistened cloth, then rub dry. 7 What should I do if ... ... the appliance switches off automatically during use? – If you leave the appliance on for about 45 minutes without touching any of the buttons, it switches off automatically as a safety precau- tion. Use the On/Off switch to switch the appliance on again. ... I can hear a slight crackling when the appliance is switched on? – This slight crackling is perfectly normal. It is due to the ion function. 8Disposal If the electrical appliance is no longer to be used, it must be handed over to the relevant local public waste authori- ties for disposal. As a rule these waste disposal authorities run spe- cial reception units for electrical appliances (recy- cling centres, materials recovery centres etc.). The electrical appliance does not belong in house- hold waste disposal bins. This also applies to electrical appliances that were last used in the non-private sector, e.g. in branches of trade or industry. In cases where public waste disposal authorities do not accept electrical appli- ances that have been used for non-private purpos- es, their waste advisory services can provide information on environmentally sound disposal.
