How to use the cooktop for the first time?

Before first use, remove packaging and stickers, mount handles if provided, clean with a damp cloth, then heat the plates at maximum power for 4 to 5 minutes in a ventilated room to burn off the protective coating. A slight smoke is normal.

What temperature settings to use for each type of cooking?

Use positions MIN to 4 for keeping warm or simmering (low heat), and positions 5 to MAX for cooking and searing (high heat). The knob is continuous, adjust gradually.

How to clean the cooktop?

Always unplug the appliance and let it cool completely. Clean with a damp cloth or soft sponge. Never use abrasive products or harsh detergents, and do not immerse the appliance in water.

What does the control indicator mean?

The indicator lights up when the plate is heating and turns off when the set temperature is reached. It will relight if the temperature drops (e.g., during cooking). This is normal.

Can I use cookware of any size?

It is recommended to use cookware with a bottom diameter matching the plate diameter (180 mm for the left plate, 150 mm for the right) to avoid energy loss.

Does the cooktop remain hot after turning it off?

Yes, residual heat persists for some time. You can use it to briefly keep food warm. Do not touch the plates until completely cooled.

• Caution: Avoid contact with hot parts when the appliance is switched on.
• Only connect the appliance to alternate current, to an earthed wall socket, with a mains voltage that corresponds with the information provided on the information plate of the appliance.
• Never bend the power cord sharply or allow it to run across hot parts.
• Fully unwind the cord to prevent it from overheating.
• Never place the appliance near appliances that give off heat, such as ovens, gas cookers, hotplates, etc. Keep the appliance away from walls or other objects that could catch flame, such as curtains, towels (cotton or paper, etc.).
• Always make sure the appliance is placed on an even, flat and heat-resistant surface and is only used indoors.

PRIOR TO FIRST USE

Before using the appliance for the first time, you should proceed as follows: carefully unpack the hob and remove all packaging material and any promotional stickers. Keep the packaging (plastic bags and cardboard) out of reach of children. After unpacking the appliance, carefully check it for external damage that may have occurred during transport.

The hot plate becomes hot during use, and also after use, the hot plate remains hot for some time. Mount the supplied handles, so you can pick up the hot plate safely if you want and move it without burning yourself. Screw the handles tight on both sides of the hot plate using the provided screws.

Place the hot plate on a sturdy, flat and heat-resistant surface. Clean the hot plate with a slightly damp cloth. The hot plates are provided with a protective layer that must be removed prior to first use. This is done by turning on the hot plate at maximum level for approximately 4 to 5 minutes. Do this in a properly ventilated room! Light smoke may form due to the protective layer burning off the hot plate. After removing the protective layer you can switch off the hot plate or start using it.

USE

Switch both thermostat knobs to «MIN». Only then insert the plug in the socket. Turn the thermostat knob of the hot plate to be used to the right, to the required position. The accompanying indicator light will light up. Position «MIN» of the hot plate is the lowest position and position «MAX» is the highest position. Use a low position [MIN to 4] for simmering and a higher position [5 to MAX] for boiling and frying.

The thermostat knob is a stepless control.

MIN = low

1-4 = keep warm-simmer

5 = boiling and frying

MAX = high

It takes approximately 10 minutes for the hot plate to reach maximum temperature (on the maximum setting of the thermostat knob). When the set temperature has been reached, the indicator light switches off. After a drop in temperature, due to heat transfer to the pan, the thermostat switches on again. The indicator light will light up again. Due to the construction of the hot plate, it remains hot for some time after switching off. This residual heat can be used to keep the food warm for a short period of time.

CAUTION: THE APPLIANCE CAN GET VERY HOT DURING USE, THEREFORE PLACE THE APPLIANCE DURING USE ON A HEAT-RESISTANT PLATE AND NEVER, FOR EXAMPLE, ON A PLASTIC TABLE, PLASTIC TABLE CLOTH OR REFRIDGERATOR.

Only use pans with bottoms that have the same diameter as the hot plate itself. Smaller diameters lead to loss of energy. Do not touch the hot plate when it is switched on. Please note that the hot plate does not cool down immediately after being switched off. Turn the thermostat knob to the «MIN» position and remove the plug from the socket after each use.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Prior to cleaning the appliance, always first remove the plug from the wall socket. Allow the hot plate to cool down before cleaning it with a damp cloth.

The base unit can also be cleaned with a damp cloth or sponge. Do not use abrasives or other aggressive cleaning agents.

Do remember that the hot plates require some time to cool down after having been switched off.

Do not submerge the appliance in water and/or other liquids.
