How to turn on the Tomado TM2410 cooktop?

Turn the knob (no. 2) clockwise. The red indicator light (no. 3) turns on. Select the desired temperature from 1 (low) to 5 (high).

Why is there smoke during first use?

The heating plate is coated with a protective film that burns off during first heating. Turn it on at maximum temperature for 10 minutes in a well-ventilated area to remove this film.

Can I use pots of any size?

It is recommended to use pots with the same diameter as the cooking plate (approx. 15-18 cm) and with a flat bottom for optimal efficiency.

How to clean the plate after use?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool completely. Wipe the plate with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Never immerse the appliance in water.

Can the cooktop be used outdoors?

No, this appliance is designed for indoor domestic use only. Do not use outdoors or near water.

What to do if the appliance does not heat up?

First check that the outlet works and the cord is not damaged. Make sure the thermostat hasn't triggered thermal protection. If the problem persists, contact a qualified electrician.

This manual includes all the necessary instructions and advice for using, cleaning and maintaining the appliance. Please read the instruction manual carefully before using the device. Please keep these instructions, the guarantee certificate, the sales receipt and, if possible, the carton with the inner packaging.

• This appliance is not intended to be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instructions concerning the use of the appliance by a person that is responsible for their safety.

• Never move the appliance by pulling the cord and make sure the cord can not become entangled.
• Do not use this appliance outdoors.
• Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
• Allow the appliance to cool down before you clean or store it.
  • To protect yourself against an electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or appliance in the water or any other liquid.
• Do not use this appliance with a damaged cord or plug or when the appliance has malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. To avoid a hazard make sure that a damaged cord or plug will be replaced by an authorized technician (*). Do not repair this appliances by yourself.
• Do not use this appliance near direct heat sources.
• Unplug the appliance from the socket when you are not using it.

• Note: To avoid danger by accidental resetting the thermal protection, this appliances may not be powered through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that regularly will be switched on or off.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

• Take the appliance and accessories out the box. Remove the stickers, protective foil or plastic from the device.
• Clean the plate with a damp cloth.
• Connect the power cable to the socket. Note: Make sure the voltage which is indicated on the device matches the local voltage before connecting the device. Voltage: 220-240V\~50Hz.
• The heating plate is provided with a protective layer which for the first use should be removed. Switch the device and select the highest setting for 10 minutes. There may be created some smoke by the protection which now lit the heating plate. Then you can switch off the cooker or use it.

USE

• Turn on the hot plate (No. 1) by turning the switch (No. 2) clockwise. The red control light (No. 3) lights up.
• You can select the desired temperature by turning the knob clockwise, 1 for the lowest temperature and 5 for the highest level.
• If the temperature which belong to the set position is reached, the red control light turns off.
  • After the temperature dropped, the thermostat will turn the hot plate back on again.

CLEANING

• Unplug, before cleaning, the plug from the socket and allow the plate to cool down completely.
• Do not use toxic and abrasive cleaners such as gasoline, scouring powder or solvent. A normal kitchen cleaner or detergent is sufficient.
• Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquid.
• Remove the cooking residues immediately.
• Beware! The plate is hot.

ENERGY SAVING TIPS

• Use only pans with a diameter equal to the hotplate.
• Use only pots and pans with a flat bottom.
• If possible keep the lid on the pan while cooking.
• Cook vegetables, potatoes, etc. with little water to shorten the cooking time.
• Use the correct temperatures for the different meals to prepare.

Warranty regulations

• TOMADO provides a 2-year warranty for all defects caused by hidden deficiencies which render the appliance useless for normal operation.
• The warranty runs from the date of purchase; we advise you to carefully save your receipt.
- Within the warranty period any defects in production or material will be resolved free of charge, by means of reparation, replacement of parts or replacement of the appliance as a whole.
- The warranty certificate has to be filled in by the sales person at the moment of purchase.
- Repairs will only be made under warranty in case it can proven (by means of a filled in warranty card and the receipt) that the day the complaint is filed falls into the warranty period.
- The warranty does not apply when defects or damages result from an accident, misuse, negligence (e.g. incorrect cleansing), or when repairs of alterations have been executed outside the authorized TOMADO service centre (excl. disassembling, as stated in the instruction manual).
- The warranty does not cover any defects arising when the appliance is connected to the wrong outlet voltage, not following the guidelines in the instruction manual and usual wear and tear.
- The warranty does not cover any defects arising from the lack of frequent descaling of appliances, whatever type of water has been used (especially for steam irons, coffee machines and water boilers).
• TOMADO cannot be held responsible for any material damage or personal accident resulting from connecting

the appliance in breach of the locally applicable safety regulations and technical standards (for instance an inferior AC outlet). The warranty under no circumstances grants the right for any compensation.

• All other claims, including damages, are excluded unless the Law states otherwise.
• Other warranty regulations than the warranty regulations stated above are not applicable.

What do you do in case your appliance does not work?

When your appliance shows defects, you can refer to your salesperson. Your salesperson will make sure any defect will be repaired as soon as possible.

Repairs outside the warranty period

You can always hand in your appliance to have it repaired outside the warranty period. This will of course not be free of charge.
