Frequently Asked Questions - 2752 ARIETE

How to change the dust bag?
Open the compartment using the lever (A). Remove the used bag by sliding the cardboard part out of the guides. Discard the paper bag or empty and wash the cloth bag. Insert a new bag by sliding the rigid part into the side guides, then close the lid.
How to clean or replace the filters?
For the pre-motor filter, first remove the bag then the filter holder. Shake the filter cartridge or wash it in warm soapy water. Let it air dry. For the exhaust filter, remove the cover and proceed the same way. Replace the filters every 6 to 9 months depending on use.
What to do if the vacuum stops suddenly?
It is probably a thermal cut-out. Turn off and unplug the appliance. Check that the tube, brush, or filters are not blocked. Wait 30 to 40 minutes for the motor to cool down, then plug in and turn on again. If the problem persists, contact after-sales service.
What accessories are supplied with the vacuum?
The floor/carpet brush (with hard floor/carpet selector), a parquet brush, a crevice tool with brush, a round brush with brush, a telescopic tube, and a handle. All can be stored in the built-in accessory compartment.
How to adjust the suction power?
Two ways: 1) Use the adjustment knob (E) on the unit to choose minimum, medium, or maximum power. 2) Use the secondary air valve (U) on the handle: push up to reduce suction, down to increase it.
Which types of bags are compatible?
Compatible bags are: Swirl Y30 and Elettrocasa RW 19. You can use paper (disposable) or cloth (reusable) bags. Make sure the rigid part fits the guides on the unit.
Can I vacuum liquids or hot ashes?
No, never vacuum liquids, hot ashes, pieces of glass, pebbles, or sharp objects. This would damage the appliance and could create a fire hazard.
How to use the brush for hard floors and carpets?
The floor/carpet brush has a selector (R): press the carpet symbol to retract the bristles (for carpets), or press the smooth floors symbol to extend the bristles (for parquet, tile, PVC). This optimizes cleaning and protects surfaces.
How to maintain the power cord?
Before each use, fully unwind the cable to avoid overheating. After use, unplug and press the rewinding pedal (D) while guiding the cable with your hand. Never pull the cable to unplug and avoid contact with hot or sharp surfaces.
Where can I download the full manual?
The full manual is available for free in PDF on the website notice-facile.com. You can download it in French and many other languages.

Once the attachment has been inserted, it is possible to extend the telescopic tube to the required length using the lever (FIG. 3). Release the lever to secure the tube at the required length.

Brush for floor / carpets (S)

Suitable for cleaning large areas as well as corners that are hard to reach.

  • When cleaning carpets and though floors, never use the brush bristles. To lift them, press the switch lever marked with the symbol for carpets.
  • For a better cleaning and keeping of smooth floors, as PVC, parquet or tiles, it is recommended to use the bristles. To extract them, press the switch lever marked with the symbol for smooth floors.

Parquet brush (N)

It can be used to clean delicate surfaces.

Narrow suction nozzle with brush (P)

This suction device is ideal for cleaning between the folds on fabrics, joints, corners or niches that are impossible to reach using the floor cleaning device. This attachment can also be fitted directly to the handle (T).

Round nozzle with brush (O)

Useful to remove the dust from books or delicate objects, as picture frames, etc.

Suitable for cleaning upholstered furniture, mattresses, pillows, curtains, etc.

This attachment may be applied directly to the handle (T).

USING THE APPLIANCE

CAUTION: Before using the vacuum cleaner, remove all large or sharp objects from the floor to avoid any possible damage to the cleaner itself.

First of all, before using this appliance, unwind the power cord fully and plug it in. To switch on, press the On/Off switch on the vacuum cleaner (FIG. 4).

IMPORTANT: Sometimes the appliance will make a whistling sound when switched on; this is not a defect and will gradually go away with use.

Suction power adjustment

It is possible to regulate the suction power as required, using the relevant dial (E). We recommend using a minimum power for delicate materials. Select medium suction power for mattresses, upholstered furniture and carpets. Select maximum suction power for tiled, wood or other resistant floors.

Suction control

The secondary air valve (U) is located on the handgrip and it is used to adjust suction power (FIG. 5).

  • The larger the valve opening, the lower the suction power and vice versa.
  • To open the valve, push the lever upwards and to close it, push the lever downwards.
Valve adjustment depends on the type of surface:

  • Minimum power for curtains and delicate materials.

  • Medium power for pillows and cushions, mattresses and carpets.
  • Maximum power for floors in tiles, wood or other strong, hardwearing and heavily soiled materials.

CAUTION: Switch off the vacuum cleaner immediately if the air openings, brushes or telescopic tubes become blocked. Remove the obstruction before switching the vacuum cleaner on again.

After using the cleaner

After use, switch off the vacuum cleaner using the pedal switch (F), unplug it from the mains power and wind in the cord by pressing the cord winder pedal (D) on the appliance. The cord will wind inside the appliance container.

IMPORTANT: While winding the power cord, guide it with one hand so as to prevent injury and take care in the presence of children or pets.

  • Store the appliance by inserting the attachments into the apposite compartment (G) on the top (FIG. 6) and positioning the floor brush (S) on the rear hook or the lower one (FIG. 7).

BAG COMPATIBILITY

Bags suitable for the vacuum cleaner:

BRAND: Swirl, Model: Y30.

BRAND: Elettrocasa, Model: RW 19

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

CAUTION: Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operation, switch off the appliance and remove the plug from the mains socket.

Dust bag replacement/cleaning

When the indicator light turns red, the paper dust bag (M) needs changing or, according to use, the fabric dust bag (I) needs to be emptied and cleaned.

  • open the bag compartment by pushing the relevant lever outwards (FIG. 8).
  • Take out the bag, being careful not to tear it; slide the stiff cardboard section (or plastic section on fabric bags) along the special guides (FIG. 9). Throw away the paper dust bag or empty the fabric bag and wash it in water and a mild detergent, if necessary.

CAUTION: Always make sure that fabric dust bags are perfectly dry before refitting them.

  • Insert a new bag by sliding the stiff card section in along the guides and then place the container in its seat;
  • close the dust compartment lid.

Cleaning/replacing the pre-motor filter

The pre-motor filter needs cleaning on a regular basis and it should be replaced every 6 to 9 months, depending on use.

  • Remove the bag (FIG. 9).
  • Slide the filter out from the compartment (FIG. 10).
  • Remove the filter, and then shake it vigorously to clean it. If the filter is extremely soiled, wash it with lukewarm soapy water, rinse it well and leave it to dry. NEVER use artificial means to dry the filter. To replace the filter, contact an Assistance Centre.
  • Replace the filter in its compartment and refit it. When you refit the compartment, make sure that the rough surface of the filter is visible.
  • Lastly, refit the dust bag and make sure that the filter compartment is correctly in place before using the cleaner.

Cleaning/replacing the exhaust air filter

The exhaust air filter needs cleaning on a regular basis and it should be replaced every 6 to 9 months, depending on use.

  • Remove the exhaust air filter cover using the special lever (FIG. 11).
  • Lift the filter out from its compartment and shake it vigorously to clean it. If the filter is extremely soiled, wash it with lukewarm soapy water and leave it to dry. NEVER use artificial means to dry the filter. To replace the filter, contact an Assistance Centre.
  • Replace the filter in its compartment and refit it. When you refit the compartment, make sure that the rough surface of the filter is visible.

Make sure that the filter compartment is correctly in place before using the cleaner.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Thermal cutout switch

The vacuum cleaner is equipped with a thermal cutout switch to protect it in the event that the motor overheats. If the vacuum cleaner suddenly switches off by itself, proceed as follows:

  • Switch off the vacuum cleaner and unplug it from the mains power.
  • Look for the origin of the overheating (blocked suction pipe, dirty filter, etc.)
  • Clean the hose, empty the dust container and clean the filters, if necessary.
  • Wait for about 30-40 minutes to allow the motor to cool down.
  • After 30-40 minutes, insert the plug in the mains socket and switch on the vacuum cleaner.

The vacuum cleaner should now work.

  • If the vacuum cleaner still does not work, wait another 20 minutes and then try again.
  • If the cleaner still does not work, contact an Assistance Centre.
