Frequently Asked Questions - Gysflash 9.24 GYS

What types of batteries can I charge with the Gysflash 9.24?
This charger is designed for lead-acid batteries of type GEL, AGM, WET, MF (Maintenance Free) and Calcium (CA), in 6V, 12V or 24V. It is not suitable for lithium or non-rechargeable batteries.
How to start charging?
First connect the charger to the battery (respect polarity), then to the mains. Select the mode (6V, 12V or 24V) by pressing the button. Charging starts automatically after 5 seconds.
What does the illuminated OK indicator mean?
The steady OK light indicates the battery is fully charged. If it flashes, the battery is ready to start the engine but not yet at 100%.
Can I use REFRESH mode on all batteries?
REFRESH mode (reconditioning) is recommended for heavily discharged batteries. It is not recommended for sealed (maintenance-free) batteries as it may cause water loss. Check the electrolyte level after use.
What to do if the red indicator flashes?
Flashing indicates reverse polarity, battery voltage too high, or short circuit. Check the clamp connections and that the mode matches the battery voltage.
Does the charger get hot normally?
Yes, moderate heat is normal. The charger is equipped with a temperature sensor that adjusts the current to prevent overheating. If the ambient temperature exceeds 60°C, thermal protection may activate (steady red light). Let it cool in a ventilated area.
Can I leave the charger connected permanently?
Yes, the Maintenance charge mode (step 8) maintains the battery at full charge without risk of overcharging. It can remain connected indefinitely for leisure or storage batteries.
What is the typical charging time?
The charging time from 20% to 80% depends on capacity. Examples: 20 Ah: 1h30, 60 Ah: 4h, 120 Ah: 8h (at 9A). For a full charge, allow about 2 to 3 additional hours.
How to maintain the charger?
Always unplug the power cord before cleaning. Use a dry cloth for surfaces. Never use solvents or harsh products. Damaged cables must be replaced by a professional.
What to do if the device does not start?
Check that the battery is connected and the mode is selected. The charger may be in standby: press the button to wake it. If the red light remains steady, a thermal or internal fault may be the cause.

GYS Gysflash 9.24 - - Charging curve : - 1

Step 1: Analysis

Analyses the battery state (charge level, polarity inversion, wrong battery...)

Step 2:Recovery (6V 12V 4.5A / 24V 3A)

Damaged elements recovery due to an extended deep discharge algorithm.

Step 5 : Charge (6V 12V 9A / 24V 6A)

Fast charge with maximum current that can reach 80% charge level.

Step 6 : Absorption (6V 7.3V / 12V 14.6V / 24V 29.2V)

Constant voltage charge to reach a 100% charge level.

Step : Test

Sulfated battery test

Step : Desulfation ( 7.9V / 15.8V / 31.6V)

Battery desulfation algorithm.

Step :

Refresh (option 7.9V/15.8V/31.6V)

If the refresh option has been selected, the charger will inject an additional current that will generate some gas, thus reconditioning the battery's cells. During this phase, the battery may lose a bit of water.

Step :

Maintenance/Floating charge ( 6.7V / 13.6V / 27.2V)

Maintains battery charge level at its maximum.
