Frequently Asked Questions - NA 20 BEURER

How to use the Beurer NA 20 nasal aspirator?
Choose the appropriate tip (wide for solid secretions, thin for liquid). Gently insert the tip into the nostril without forcing, then press the on/off button. Keep the device tilted between 20° and 60°. Do not use the device if the child is lying down.
How to clean the aspirator after use?
Disassemble the tip, head and container. Clean the tip and container with warm water and a little mild soap, then rinse. For disinfection, immerse them in boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes. The head is only rinsed with water. Dry all parts completely before reassembly.
What to do if the suction power is weak or absent?
First check that the batteries are inserted correctly and charged. Make sure the gray rubber seal is in place and the container is properly attached. After cleaning, the valve must be completely dry, as residual moisture reduces suction.
Can the aspirator be used for adults?
No, the NA 20 nasal aspirator is designed exclusively for children aged 0 to 12 years. Do not use it on other parts of the body or on animals. Use on adults could be ineffective or dangerous.
What are the important safety precautions?
Do not use the device if there are nosebleeds, facial injuries or coagulation disorders. Never insert the tip too deeply. Stop immediately if the child shows signs of pain or discomfort. Consult a doctor before using the device if the child has a nasal condition.
How to change the batteries?
Use the notch under the device to remove the battery compartment cover. Insert two AA 1.5 V batteries respecting the polarities (+/-). Do not mix new and used batteries and do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Replace the cover until it clicks.
Which tips are supplied and what are they for?
Two silicone tips are included: the wide tip (for solid nasal secretions) and the thin tip (for liquid secretions). Choose according to the consistency of the secretions for effective and gentle suction.
How to know if the container is full?
The secretion container has a "MAX" mark. Stop use as soon as the level reaches this mark. Empty and clean the container before continuing. Never exceed this limit to prevent any reflux.
Can I use the aspirator while my baby is sleeping?
Yes, the device is designed to be quiet (less than 75 dB). It can be used during sleep, provided you follow the usual precautions: do not insert the tip abruptly and keep the child in a semi-seated position.
Where can I buy spare parts?
The silicone tips are available under reference 164.104 and the complete main unit under reference 164.103. Contact your Beurer dealer or customer service to order them. The 3-year warranty does not cover consumable accessories.

IMPORTANT

Clean the device after every use, as otherwise it can become clogged and will no longer be able to guarantee smooth, hygienic operation.

  1. Remove the silicone attachment used and the head unit from the device.

  1. We also recommend removing the rubber seal (1) as well as the valve (2) from the head unit, so that no bacteria can accumulate there.

1 2

  1. Clean the silicone attachment, nasal secretion container, rubber seal and valve with hot water and some mild soap. Do not use any harsh cleaning products. To disinfect the silicone attachment and the nasal secretion container, place them in boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes. Contact between the parts and the hot base of the pan should be avoided. Place the individual components subsequent on a dry, clean and absorbent surface and allow to dry completely (for at least 4 hours).
  2. Clean the head unit exclusively with water. Do not use soap or chemical cleaners, as these can clog the tip of the head unit.
  3. Only clean the main device with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use any corrosive cleaning products, solutions or benzenes. The device must not be cleaned with water or submerged in water.
  4. Using a dirty or damaged valve can decrease the suction pressure of the nasal aspirator. The valve must be replaced as soon as you notice it is dirty or damaged. Additionally, the valve must be completely dry after cleaning in order for the device to function. The suction power is impaired/non-existent even if there is a small amount of residual moisture remaining.
  5. Dry all parts carefully using a soft cloth. Do not reassemble the parts until they are completely dry. Store the device away from sunlight, dust and moisture.

9. Disposal

Disposal of the device

For environmental reasons, do not dispose of the device in the household waste at the end of its useful

life. Dispose of the device at a suitable local collection or recycling
