natural_image
Illustration of two hands holding binoculars with a circular dial on the screen (no text or symbols)It is possible to bring every subject into focus from the shortest adjustment distance (see technical data sheet) to infinity by
turning the focusing wheel.
3.4 DIOPTRIC COMPENSATION
To achieve optimal image quality, the possibly varying visual acuity between the left and right eye must be corrected.

natural_image
Diagram of a circular mechanical component with radial slots and an arrow indicating direction (no text or symbols)Use with equal acuity of both eyes:
The dioptric compensation is set to "zero".
Use with varying acuity of both eyes:
- Look through the left ocular with your left eye and turn the focusing wheel to focus sharply on a selected object.
- Now, using your right eye, look at the same object through the right eyepiece and use the dioptric compensation to set the optimal image sharpness. For that purpose, press on the dioptric compensation on the focusing wheel and turn the dioptric compensation left or right until the image is sharp.

4.1 CLEANING THE OPTICS
We have designed all elements and surfaces to require little care. To ensure the long-lasting optical brilliance of your binoculars, you should keep the glass surfaces free of dirt, oil and grease. When cleaning the lenses, first remove larger particles with an optical lens brush. For the subsequent thorough cleaning we recommend breathing onto the lens surface to form a coat of condensation and then cleaning it with a soft, moist cloth.
This microfiber optics lens-cleaning cloth allows you to clean the most delicate of glass surfaces. It is ideal for objective lenses, eyepieces, and eyeglasses.
Please keep the optics lens-cleaning cloth clean, as dirt can damage the lens surface. Simply wash it in lukewarm soapy water and leave to air dry. Please only use it for cleaning glass surfaces.
4.2 CLEANING THE LEATHER AND HOUSING
Your CL Companion NOMAD has been made using the best regional leather. It has been vegetable tanned and worked with great care by expert leather craftsmen. We recommend cleaning it regularly in order to preserve the natural quality of the leather. A leather care set is supplied as standard. This is ideal for looking after the leather armoring of your CL Companion NOMAD and the NOMAD field bag.
Apply a small amount of cream to the cloth supplied and spread across the whole surface. Work it into the leather using circular movements, then polish off.

natural_image
Illustration of hands cleaning a circular container with a sponge (no text or symbols)Leather is a natural product, and slight variations in color and texture are a sign that it is a natural, organic material.
The housing is best cleansed with a soft, moist cloth (please do not use the optics lens-cleaning cloth or the leather-cleaning cloth for this).

natural_image
Illustration showing a hand holding a cylindrical object with a brush, alongside a mechanical component with rotating parts (no text or symbols)In the event of hard-to-remove dirt (e.g. sand) the eye cups can be unscrewed and cleaned easily.
Please note that water should not be used to clean the leather armoring on the binoculars, the NOMAD field bag, or the NOMAD carrying strap. Please also avoid using acids or alkaline cleaners, as this can lead to changes in the leather.
4.3 STORAGE
You should keep your binoculars in its bag in a well-ventilated, dry place.

natural_image
Simple line drawing of a bag with a bag labeled 'SICAGIL' and two stacked items (no text or symbols beyond label)If the instrument is wet, it must be dried prior to storage.
In tropical regions or regions with a high degree of humidity the
best place to store the instrument in is an air-tight receptacle along with a moisture-absorbing agent (e.g. silica gel).
5. FOR YOUR SAFETY!
