They contain important information concerning safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the safety information and instructions for use. Only use the product as described and for the specified applications. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.
Intended use
This product is designed for making toast. Do not use the product for any other purpose.
This product is only intended for private household use, not for commercial purposes.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damages caused by improper use.

After unpacking the product, check if the delivery is complete and if all parts are in good condition. Remove all packaging materials before use.

This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the product.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Intended use
WARNING! Misuse may lead to injury. Use this product solely in accordance with these instructions. Do not attempt to modify the product in any way.
The product is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
Electrical safety
WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Never attempt to repair the product yourself. In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnel only.

During use the product gets hot.
Do not touch the product while in use nor immediately after use.

Do not use non-standard toast. Due to the smaller size or shape, there is a risk of touching hot parts when removing the toasted toast or bread.
WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Do not immerse the product in water or other liquids. Never hold the product under running water.
WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Never use a damaged product. Disconnect the product from the mains supply and contact your retailer if it is damaged.
The product is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage.
The bread may burn, therefore do not use the product near or below combustible material, such as curtains.
The product is powered at all times while it is connected to the mains supply.
Before connecting the product to the mains supply, check that the voltage and current rating corresponds with the mains supply details shown on the product's rating label.
Regularly check the mains plug and the mains cord for damages. If the mains cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Protect the mains cord against damages. Do not let it hang over sharp edges, do not squeeze or bend it. Keep the mains cord away from hot surfaces and open flames.
Operation
The product must not be left unattended while it is connected to the mains supply.
Do not move the product while it is in operation.
Do not place the product on hot plates (gas, electric, coal cooking range etc.). Operate the product on a level, stable, clean, heat-resistant and dry surface.
Do not cover the product while it is in use or shortly after use, when it is still hot.
The use of extension cords is not recommended. If the use of an extension cord is necessary, it must be designed for a current flow of at least 10 A.
Lay the mains cord and the extension cord in such a way that they may not be tripped over or otherwise damaged.
The product is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote control system.
Cleaning and storage
WARNING! Risk of injury!
Disconnect the product from the mains supply before cleaning work and when not in use.
Do not store the hot product in a cupboard or in the packaging.
- Do not pull the mains plug out of the mains socket by the mains cord.
Protect the product, its mains cord and mains plug against dust, direct sunlight, dripping and splashing water.
Store the product in a cool, dry place, protected from moisture and out of the reach of children.
- Protect the product against heat. Do not place the product close to open flames or heat sources such as stoves or heating appliances.
Clean the product after each use (see "Cleaning and care").
Before first use
① NOTES:
Possible production residues lead to the formation of odours during initial start-up. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction of the product.

Removing production residues: Operate the empty product at browning level 7 until the lever 16 moves upwards automatically. Ensure sufficient ventilation.
Discard the first set of toasted bread slices. -
Remove the packaging material.
- Clean the product (see "Cleaning and care").
Operation
- Unwind the mains cord 12 from the cord rewind 10 before use.
- Connect the mains plug 12 to a suitable mains socket. The timer display 2 and the browning level display 15 light up.
Off mode
The product enters off mode after 1 minute of inactivity. The timer display 2 and the browning level display 15 go out while the lever 16 remains in its initial position (up).
When the toasting process is finished:
The lev16 moves upwards automatically.
The timer disp 2 and the browning level display 15 keep lighting up for 1 minute.
The product then returns to off mode.
- Toasting bread
① NOTES:
The toasting result depends, among other things, on the type, moisture, and freshness of the bread.
Dry or white bread browns quicker than fresh or dark bread.
This product has a function to prevent bread from getting stuck in the toasting slots 1. If the bread gets stuck and the lever 16 does not spring back, the power automatically disconnects after the preset toasting time.
The le16 only engages when the mains plug 12 is connected to a mains socket.
If the timer disp 2 and the browning level display 15 go out, you can switch them on again by pressing any button (except 6).
Browning level 7 causes a very strong browning. Thick bread slices may cause smoke to form. In this case, stop the toasting process: Press 6.
If you only want to toast a single slice of bread, use a lower browning level than forasting 2 slices of bread.
- Insert a slice of bread into each toasting slot 1.
Do not use bread slices that are too thick.
The bread must not be jammed in the toast slot.
- Set the browning level: Press -3 or +4 to select one of the browning levels, from 1 to 7.

- Press down the lever 16 until it clicks into place. The bread is lowered. The timer display 2 starts counting down the toasting time.
- When the toasting process is finished, the bread is lifted up. The lever 16 moves upwards.
- Remove the bread from the toasting slot 1.
- Toast frozen bread
NOTE: Frozen bread is gently defrosted by the product and then toasted. It is not necessary to change the browning level.
- Press 5. The indicator light above lights up.
- Set the desired browning level.
- Press down the lever 16 until it clicks into place. The timer display 2 starts counting down the toasting time.
- When the toasting process is finished, the bread is lifted up. The lever 16 moves upwards. The indicator light above 5 goes off.
- Remove the bread from the toasting slot 1.
Warming up bread
① NOTE: Bread that has already been toasted can be reheated by the product.

Press 7 . The indicator light above lights up.

Press down the lever 16 until it clicks into place. The timer display 2 starts counting down the toasting time.
- When the toasting process is finished, the bread is lifted up. The lever 16 moves upwards. The indicator light above 7 goes off.
- Remove the bread from the toasting slot 1.
Baking bread rolls
① NOTES:
The toasting result depends, among other things, on the type and freshness of the bread rolls.
- Toast the bread roll from both sides to ensure an even browning.
- Press down the fold-out lever 14. The bread roll warmer 8 folds out.
- Place the rolls on the bread roll warmer 8.
- Set the desired browning level. We recommend browning level 3.
- Press down the lever 16 until it clicks into place. The timer display 2 starts counting down the toasting time.
- When the toasting process of one side of the bread roll is finished, the lever 16 moves upwards.
- Turn the rolls over.
- Press down the lever 16 until it clicks into place. The product switches on. The timer display 2 starts counting down the toasting time.
- When the toasting process of the other side of the bread roll is finished, the lever 16 moves upwards.
- After the bread rolls are baked: Push the fold-out lever 14 upwards. The bread roll warmer 8 folds in.
- Cancel toasting
- When the product is toasting, defrosting or reheating bread, you can press 6 early to stop operation.
- Press 6. The lever 16 moves upwards.
- Cleaning and care
WARNING! Risk of electric shock!
Before cleaning: Always disconnect the product from the mains supply.
Do not immerse the product's electrical components in water or other liquids. Never hold the product under running water.

the product right after operation. Let the product cool first.

Storage
WARNING! Risk of burns! Do not store
the product right after operation. Let the product cool first.
Clean the product before storage.
Run the mains cord 12 around the cord rewind 10 and attach it to the cord clamp 11.
Store the product in the original packaging when it is not in use.
Store the product at a dry location out of the reach of children.
Troubleshooting

The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.

Warranty

The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Keep the original sales receipt in a safe location as this document is required as proof of purchase.
Any damage or defects already present at the time of purchase must be reported without delay after unpacking the product.
Should the product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it - at our choice - free of charge to you. The warranty period is not extended as a result of a claim being granted. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts.
This warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged, or used or maintained improperly.
The warranty covers material or manufacturing defects. This warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear and tear, thus considered consumables (e.g. batteries, rechargeable batteries, tubes, cartridges), nor damage to fragile parts, e.g. switches or glass parts.

Warranty claim procedure
To ensure quick processing of your claim, observe the following instructions:
Make sure to have the original sales receipt and the item number (IAN 502867_2501) available as proof of purchase.
You can find the item number on the rating plate, an engraving on the product, on the front page of the instruction manual (bottom left), or as a sticker on the rear or bottom of the product.
If functional or other defects occur, contact the service department listed below either by telephone or by e-mail.
Once the product has been recorded as defective you can return it free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure to enclose the proof of purchase (sales receipt) and a short, written description outlining the details of the defect and when it occurred.
