Frequently Asked Questions - TCHDMIWM VISION

How to set up the TCHDMIWM kit for the first time?
Connect the transmitter to your HDMI source and the receiver to your display. Power both devices using the supplied AC adapters. Select the same channel on the transmitter and receiver using the channel selection buttons. The wireless connection establishes automatically; the connection indicator then lights up.
What is the maximum range of the system?
The maximum range is 30 meters (98 feet) in open field, without obstacles. For optimal performance, place the transmitter and receiver at a distance of 2 to 7 meters with a clear line of sight.
How many transmitters can operate simultaneously?
Up to 10 transmitters can be used at the same time in the same environment, each on a different channel (channels 0 to 9). Each transmitter can connect to a maximum of 2 receivers.
How to use the IR return?
Connect the IR emitter cable to the mini-jack of the transmitter and place the diode near the infrared sensor of the source. Connect the IR receiver cable to the receiver and place the diode in view of the remote control. Infrared signals are then relayed from the display to the source.
What to do if the image does not display?
Check that the HDMI cables are properly connected and that the source is turned on. Try reducing the refresh rate of the source or changing the HDMI cable. Restart all devices. Press the 'i' button on the remote to display the Wi-Fi spectrum and change channel if congested.
What is the maximum supported video resolution?
The maximum resolution is 1920x1080 (1080p) at 60 Hz. The system supports HDMI 1.3 with HDCP 1.2.
Can I use this product with a 5 GHz Wi-Fi router?
Yes, but the product uses the same frequencies. In case of interference, configure your router to use only the 2.4 GHz band or change the channel on the transmitter/receiver.
How to reset the system?
Unplug the power from the transmitter and receiver, wait a few seconds, then plug them back in. If the problem persists, perform a full reset by turning off and on all devices in the chain (source, transmitter, receiver, display).
What does the fast blinking data indicator mean?
A fast blink of the data indicator on the receiver indicates active HDMI data transfer. A slow blink means the connection is establishing. If the indicator is solid, the connection is established.
How to use the PRESENT function?
If you have only one display, press the PRESENT button on the transmitter or on the remote control. The receiver then switches to the channel of that transmitter. Make sure the DIP switch on the back of all devices is set to '1RX'. This function is not available with multiple receivers.

SYSTEM RULES

These two rules will help you understand what is possible with this product:

Rule 1: This product uses 10 channels. Each transmitter needs to use a different channel, therefore you can have up to 10 transmitters in the same WiFi environment.

Rule 2: Only 2 receivers at most can be linked to a transmitter.

DISPLAY SLEEP

The Rx will stop outputting HDMI if no source is present for 10 minutes. This allows the display to go to sleep when the source is off.

SWITCH TIME

Can be up to 7 seconds because an EDID has to happen each time.

FREQUENCY SPECTRUM

This product uses 5GHz WIFI channels so it can be affected by outside interference in the same way as any wifi device. This product uses non-DFS channels.

IRPASSBACK

If using a source device which has a remote control, this product allows the remote to be pointed at the display in the remote location. The IR signal is relayed from the Rx to the Tx to the source device.

To make this happen the IR blaster and receiver cables mush be used.

The diode on the blaster must be as close as possible to the source IR receiver.
The diode on the receiver must be in line-of-sight of the remote control.

MATRIX

  1. Connect sources to Tx, and displays to Rx
  2. Set each Tx to different channels. You cannot have two Tx sharing same channel.
  3. Adjust channel on each Rx to switch which source is shown.

The maximum number of devices in a matrix system is 2 × 2 .

VISION TCHDMIWM - MATRIX - 1

Because you can use 10 × Tx simultaneously you could have 5 discrete matrix systems, or a blend of Matrix, Distribution, and Switching systems running at the same time.

DISTRIBUTION

Shows content from one source on two displays.

  1. Connect source to Tx, and displays to RxS
  2. Set them all to the same channel.

VISION TCHDMIWM - DISTRIBUTION - 1

Because you can use 10 × Tx simultaneously you could have 10 discrete Distribution systems, or a blend of Matrix, Distribution, and Switching systems running at the same time.

SWITCHING

Up to 10 sources, and one receiver.

  1. Connect sources to Txs, and display to Rx
  2. Set each Tx to different channels.
  3. Change channel on Rx to determine which source it displays.

It is possible to have multiple switching systems in the same environment; the limitation is the number of Tx in total: 10.

Because you can use 10 × Tx simultaneously you could have a blend of Matrix, Distribution, and Switching systems running at the same time.

PRESENT BUTTON

If you have just one display, you can use PRESENT button on the front panel of Txs (or remote control).

This button sends a command to Rx saying "switch to my channel". To activate set dip switch on rear of all devices to "1RX".

VISION TCHDMIWM - PRESENT BUTTON - 1

If system has more than one receiver this function cannot be used.

VISION TCHDMIWM - PRESENT BUTTON - 2

INFO ONSCREEN DISPLAY

Press i button on remote control to display channel information, showing other SSID device in the area. It shows signal strength and Wifi congestion to help trouble-shoot.

Note: To show all SSID in range the Rx must not be "connected" to any Tx when you do this. Change the Rx channel to an unused channel first.

Note: if you are having problems and need to Contact Us via www.visionaudiovisual.com please send a photo of the information on this screen.
